Real News From The Blaze: Presidents New Policy on Illegal Immigrants

President Obama made it clear Friday that he’s not waiting till term two (just the very last moments of term one) to try and push forward some kind of policy regarding immigration reform. With an announcement from the Rose Garden, President Obama unilaterally eased enforcement on the nation’s immigration laws by offering immediate immunity from deportation to illegal immigrants if they were brought to the United States before they turned 16 and are younger than 30, have been in the country for at least five continuous years, have no criminal history, graduated from a U.S. high school or earned a GED, or served in the military. The Associated Press notes that under the administration’s plan, illegal immigrants can also apply for a work permit that will be good for two years with no limits on how many times it can be renewed. The policy will not lead toward citizenship but will remove the threat of deportation and grant illegal immigrants the ability to work legally.

Mitt Romney immediately criticized the move of his general election opponent, claiming that if elected, he will work to overturn the policy.

“I believe the status of young people who come here through no fault of their own is an important matter to be considered and should be solved on a long term basis so they know what their  future would be in this country,” Romney said Friday. “I think the action the president took today makes it more difficult to reach that long term solution because an executive order is of course just a short term matter, it can be reversed by subsequent presidents.”

In the heat of the general election campaign with winning over the Hispanic demographic of great importance nationally, as well as in key swing states, the “Real News” panel discussed the timing of the president‘s immigration announcement and how the plan matches up to President Obama’s previous positions regarding the issue. The announcement also calls to attention the growing policy of this administration to ignore laws that they dont like. From enforcing DOMA to deportation, how does the administration continue to get away with ignoring their duty to enforce the law?

    Well, I am happy to see that Obamas racism, bias and bigotedness is not just towards whites. Obama showed his TRUE feelings about Hispanics by attending a dinner with just “Latinos” at which time the SS as in Secret Service(still?) REMOVED KNIVES & FORKS(silver ware) from the attendees BEFORE the paranoid one….Obama………..came out to speak to them. Check it out:

    Every news report that I have seen that followed illegal aliens from Mexico and further followed kids. I cannot remember one the followed an adult but I remember a dozen reports where kids between 10 and 14 years set off to join their parents who were already illegally in the US. Does these children who are on CNN and MSNBC yearly get to blame their parents for bringing them in? I bet they do.

    Obama said that these illegals (who are here through no fault of their own) are really “Americans” and they think like Americans, are patriotic and fight for this country like “Americans” they just aren’t “Americans” on paper. Well, if that is the issue, why doesn’t Obama have a plan for them to be on a fast track to citizenship instead of just getting work permits and not being deported? If they are really “Americans” why are they not allowed to PROVE IT by filing for citizenship?
    It sounds like most people have the biggest problem with these illegals because they didn’t come through the proper channels and come into this country LEGALLY, and then Obama goes and does the same thing by not going through the proper channels (Congress) and pass this legislation LEGALLY. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

    Ah, the conservative hate reveals its ugly head again. But I must ask, why the conservatives have such deep hate towards Latinos? And conservatives just can’t make up their minds, one day they say we are all lazy and on welfare the next day, we are all the jobs! I am very glad that President Obama had the courage and guts to stand up against this hateful people. The republicans, conservatives are the Nazies of today just looking for someone to blame and it just happens to be Latinos. I pray that Obama gets reelected other wise people like sherrif joe will be out and about killing Latinos.

      Americans don’t like being USED. Have you filed for citizenship or are you just USING us for jobs, welfare, education, healthcare, etc.? Are you loyal to America or is your allegiance still to Mexico (or wherever you came from)? The last time I checked, Mexico has a higher GDP than the U.S. Why aren’t you trying to fix your OWN country?

      ILEGALANDPROUD Your post shows clearly you are an ignorant individual, and a dishonest benefit seeker. There is no indication conservatives hate Latinos. We are people who work hard for what we have, seek high standards of behavior, and give most people benefit of the doubt. There are many lazy, greedy people on welfare…that is not a class distinction. What makes hard working honest Americans angry, are people who sneak into this country illegally, steal jobs, live off of our assistance programs, college classroom space, steal hospital resources and think they are entitled to that which they did not contribute to. We do not hate any class of people who have gone through the process to become citizens legally. There are many, many illegal immigrant people who are honest, hardworking and valuable people, but that does not negate the fact, that illegal, by it’s definition…is against the law. We are angry this current administration is rewarding lawbreakers.

      You’re arrogance is astounding. You have no right to be here. You are not entitled to any benefit since you are not a citizen and came to this country illegally. You should be either deported or in prison. There’s a right way and a wrong way. Blaming conservatives is just typical laughable liberal speak. Many of us living in the states are first or second generation with grandparents who came to the US because they desired a better way of life. They embraced the States, genuinely attempted to speak English, and were ashamed to receive public assistance. Oh, and did I say they came in legally?

    Because an executive order is in effect only for as long as the sitting president wills it to be so, OBomba’s short-term “solution” only further muddies the immigration waters. Also, it opens the door for further relaxation of the immigrant laws & enforcement.

    Mutiny, If we vote for a third party candidate and Obama and his cronies get another four years, there won’t be another opportunity to turn this country around. Mitt Romney is not my first choice, and John McCain wasn’t my first choice either. We need constitutional conservatives at all levels of government, and people need to stay aware and involved. The country didn’t get in this position over night, and we won’t fix it over night. But I know we can’t fix it at all if Obama gets a second term.

    Mutiny, I…am…typing…this…slowly…so…you…understand. RON PAUL cannot win – you must face this FACT!
    Romney is not the first choice of many here, but he is the only choice we will have. No matter what you want to believe, he is better than Obama. The key is we MUST put conservatives into the senate and the house to bring this country back to where it needs to be.

    Even if Ron Paul was the president, he could do little without a willing senate and congress. Unless, Paul did what Obama does and ruled by executive order – which would go against Paul’s constitutional beliefs.

    I know it’s hard, but it’s time to get on board and get rid of Obama, Holder and the rest of this corrupt administration,

    Illegals are not taking our jobs — get real. I live in California, and the farmers out here can’t find workers to harvest crops because of ICE crackdowns. The same thing happened last year in Georgia.

    Any you unemployed Americans want to go pick vegetables in a field for 10 hours? Yeah, I figured.

      I dont see this as a Mormon thing. I see this as the media, the GOP establishment, and talk radio chose a candidate that is so close to Obama that either they are completely duped or now are accepting the roll as the other side of the progressive coin.

      I dont believe Romney is a bad guy. I dont think he wants to destroy the country. I think he is a useful idiot. I see Romney as taking us to the same place as Obama, therefore I see them as the same.
