Posted on February 12, 2012 at 8:55amThis was a good short summary of the Manhattan Project, but it barely scratched the surface. How many people know about how the uranium ore from the former Belgian Congo came to the USA? Or Nazi Germany’s last ditch attempt to send its uranium ore to Japan, which ended up with it being added to the Manhattan Project instead? What about the severe shortage of copper which was needed for the conventional war effort which resulted in the US Treasury delivering tons of silver to the Project to be used in electrical components? It’s all a fascinating read.

Posted on February 12, 2012 at 8:06pmThis Is Old News And Most People Know About This. Why Now?
Is this story being released by the Obama news media to grant him justification for attacking Iran. Iran must already have the 5th Generation Thermonuclear Weapon developed by Edward Teller for the US. Democrats refused to allow its deployment so other nations will do it instead.
5th Generation weapons use small quantities of Duterium and Tritium. The weapon does not require an atomic bomb to detonate it but uses new modern super high velocity chemical explosives so there isn’t any radioactive fall out. It is a clean bomb. Iran must have this weapon, they were given enough time to make some.

Posted on February 12, 2012 at 1:21amOne of the worst aspects of the Manhattan Project was its legacy. It inspired the greatest and most powerful nation on the earth to spend itself into oblivion. Did you know there is a link between the atomic bomb and our current debt crisis? How does $5.5+ TRILLION dollars sound?
“According to a retrospective Brookings Institute study published in 1998 by the Nuclear Weapons Cost Study Committee, the total expenditure for U.S. nuclear weapons from 1940 to 1998 was $5.5 trillion in 1996 Dollars. The total public debt at the end of fiscal year 1998 was $5,478,189 million in 1998 Dollars or $5.3 trillion in 1996 dollars. The ENTIRE PUBLIC DEBT in 1998 was therefore equivalent to the funds spent on the research, development, and deployment of U.S. nuclear weapons and nuclear weapons-related programs during the Cold War. (from Wikipedia)
This program’s successors in warmongering, brinksmanship, strategic deterrence, and Cold War defense spent everything we had and then some to develop all the delivery systems, warships, bombs, missiles, and support systems to put the USA beyond reach in nuclear weapons strength. While a lot of people here tout “gun ownership” and “self defense” for one’s family, would you mortgage everything you owned to have the biggest arsenal in your town? You own all the guns but the banks own everything you have? Except in this case, the “banks” have turned out to be the guys with the 3rd largest arsenal in town, who are friends with the 2nd. W

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 12:23pmRichard Rhodes was exactly the right person for this piece. If you have an interest in history, politics, science, and technology, Richard Rhodes’ books on the Manhattan Project and the later development of thermonuclear weapons are the gold standard. Warning: Both his books are long and detailed but I found both fascinating.

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 2:18amHalf truths in this piece. Oppenheimer and his friends were full-bore on building the bomb during WWII until Germany surrendered. When the US decided to use the bomb against Japan, Oppenheimer and his crew mutinied, but were forced back to work.
The Germans main foe in WWII were the Bolsheviks. The UK was aligned with the Bolsheviks, as were some Americans. Lenin, Trotsky, et al were supported in the early years by the west. Trotsky even lived in the US. So the Germans kicked these jewish scientists out of Germany and they came to the US to work on a bomb to kill Germans.
One must understand that Bolsheviks hate freedom, hate liberty and hate western man. They use all kinds of deceptions and facades to get their way. They killed so many innocent people that not even Hitler can compare in terms of numbers of innocent deaths. And the Bolshevik soldiers are spread the world over, knowing no borders or allegiances but to their own.
The Left in the US is based on Bolshevism. Some on the right are complicit too. All hate freedom. Look up for salvation.

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 2:32amAgreed… but it is even more complicated… as FDR was Socialist Dictator, who rejected Hitler’s offer to Ransom the Jews and bring them to America… constantly rejecting the Limits placed upon him by the Constitution… as typical of the Progressives of Both Parties, who are not Left & Right, but all AntiConstitutionalists!

Posted on February 11, 2012 at 3:13amI hear you. Space is limited here. The dear God’s children who lived the horrors of soviet slavery and death were innocent. Russia produced immense amounts of food, but the people starved; children and families just as real as our’s today. Where was God’s mercy as evil men had their ways with innocent people?
This same evil is here now. It is true as any you have heard. This evil is just now inhaling our aroma before it sets in for the feast. Run and it will consume us. Fight and only some will perish. Jesus must be with us. Too much injustice now. It is time for evil to be put down for all to see. Evil has had its time. No more. People can sense this beyond themselves. It is time for evil to realize its destiny with death.

May God continue to bless you and the United States of America. I pray that you are right that it isn’t already too late to stop the tsunami.
