Rather than shrinking away from attacks against their running mate’s previous proposals to reform Medicare, the Romney campaign seems to be getting aggressive against Obama campaign jabs at Paul Ryan‘s plan and the president’s own credibility when it comes Medicare. The campaign emailed a clip to the press from Romney’s stump speech in Ohio Wednesday pushing back on the issue of Medicare:
There’s another promise he made. You know that every time you get a paycheck you see there’s a deduction there. It’s going to Medicare. It’s going into a trust account to make sure that when you retire, that there’s a health program there that will care for you. One of the things the President did which I find extraordinary, something he never mentioned when he was running for office. You see, when he ran for office, he said he’d protect Medicare. But did you know that he’s taken $716 billion out of the Medicare trust fund. He’s raided that trust fund. And you know what he did with it? He’s used it to pay for Obamacare, a risky, unproven federal government takeover of health care. And if I’m President of the United States, we’re putting the $716 billion back.
Romney has also reiterated criticisms of Obama cutting Medicare funds in a new ad released Wednesday. Avik Roy wrote a recent piece on National Review Online arguing that President Obama’s cuts to Medicare are more than what Romney plans. Roy joined the “Real News” Wednesday to discuss the facts and whether Romney’s current approach to the Medicare discussion is a winning argument:

Posted on August 16, 2012 at 7:33amObama and his gang have attacked Romney with words such as “felon,“ ”vampire,“ ”tax evader,“ and ”killer.” The disgusting low class and violent verbage from this President and his gang should be a warning to all Americans.
Report Post »Don’t think these vicious attacks will be isolated to Romney. They will be spewed upon all of us who disagree with the damage Obama and his gang have done to our country.
And those of you who agree with the harm obama has done – he will throw you under the bus if you get in his way of power, money, and votes. Not necessarily in that order.

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 9:29pmSince Republicans didn’t see fit to have Ron Paul be the candidate, they should have at least been smart enough to have picked one who at least sounds like an Alpha male rather than Mitt Romney. The elderly and women will mostly vote for Obama. Republicans either throw elections on purpose or they are just that stupid. I think it’s a combination of both.

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 9:41pmWomen like men with deep full voices. The problem arises with the Republican white male establishment because it‘s true that white guys don’t like bosses who have deep full voices because it makes themselves feel mousy. That’s why you never see Republican Candidates who have deep full voices. What idiots.

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 8:51pmIf the Romney/Ryan ticket wants to win the trust of Americans, they will have to start talking about making real and substantial cuts in spending, and embrace sound policy changes across the board that are in line with our Constitution. One place to do this is in the military and foreign policy arena. Close all unnecessary bases overseas and stop giving foreign aid to our enemies who pretend to be our friends. End unconstitutional wars and bring our soldiers home. Embrace sound economic policy (Austrian economics, not Keynesian).
If our Constitution is honored, I believe that the wisdom it holds can help us today.
