‘Real News From The Blaze’: Senate Democrats Are Ignoring the Budget……Again

For the third year in a row, Democrats controlling the Senate have failed to produce a serious budget. Democratic Budget Committee Chairman Sen. Kent Conrad tabled the vote late Wednesday, arguing with (and perhaps at the behest of) Democratic leadership that the August debt-ceiling deal technically provides a discretionary spending budget for 2013, thereby satisfying legal requirements to consider a budget.
“This is the wrong time to vote in committee; this is the wrong time to vote on the floor,” The Hill reports Conrad said. “I don’t think we will be prepared to vote before the election.”
Conrad failed to mention the inability of Senate Democrats to rally behind any particular budget, let alone any plan with Republicans. The move stunned Senate Republicans, who called the announcement an embarrassment, as Senate Budget Committee Ranking Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions said in a statement:
“Chairman Conrad’s stunning announcement, forced on him by his party, is a defining moment in 2012 and a national embarrassment for a Senate majority that is unable to meet the great challenge of our time.
It’s been 1,084 days since the last time the Senate’s Democrat majority passed a budget plan, despite a simple majority threshold for passage. Our nation has never needed a budget more, and, as a party, Senate Democrats haven’t produced a plan for three years or conducted a committee mark-up for two. “
The complete inability of Senate Democrats to produce a plan while the government appears to continue to function day-to-day basis, baffles many Americans who cannot imagine holding their household together without a budget, especially in these demanding economic times.
“Real News” panelist Will Cain admits he doesn’t even know how Democrats can pull this off year in, year out. Cain explained the budgetary responsibilities of Congress and how some legislators have avoided their duties regarding the nation’s purse strings on the show Wednesday, as well as why a budget matters.

Posted on April 20, 2012 at 8:33amPerhaps the American people need to define what we mean to the Senate.
In mathmatical terms: Where X is income and Y is spending the sum total equals Z. Z must always be equal to or greater than $0.00.
Budget: Something that is established so you do not rack up massive debt.
If tax revenue equals $3 trillion you must never spend more than $2.5 trillion. At the end of the fiscal year, if anything is left over from that $2.5 trillion it, along with the additional $500 billion, go towards paying down the principal of the US debt. The $2.5 trillion budget must include unanticipated expenses and debt payment.
Could be that is too much of a common sense thing for the government to grasp as it is always easier to spend other peoples money rather than your own.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 7:40pmThis is why there needs to be a limit on terms in congress. People like Harry Reid are ubstricting the wheels ( no matter how slow) of government to move. This should be a crime. They are there to serve us. Who voted for Reid anyway? They need of a brain scan!!!!

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 4:08pmIn today’s immediate satisfaction society, what would a budget do for the useful idiots anyway? The liberals/democrats don’t have the forethought to see the future – it’s only what it will do for them today or tomorrow. A budget done correctly MAY just lead back to righting the ship… 15-20 years from now. Yes, it will take that long IF DONE CORRECTLY TODAY. What a crap-hole we have dug here folks!
Maybe the idiot dems in congress are waiting to see just how much Obamamoney® there is out there so they can pay the debt down with that! Wait until they find out they can‘t get their hands on it because it’s earmarked for someone who ‘needs it’ to pay off their car, mortgage, gambling, flat-screen, liquor store bill, bookie, OWS clean-up, etc., etc., etc.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 11:48amI notice very few if any liberals show up here to defend the dem congress refusing to do what its paid for, – because its indefensible. Amazing how they just ignore the inconvenient truths– like the rule of law and the job we pay congress to do. This is the beginning of a serious breakdown in our government and if it continues there will be no fixing it. These people have no ethics, no concern for the country, its people or its constitution. I remember it being mandatory to pass the constitution test or you could not graduate high school, now its becoming almost meaningless — very very sad. I feel fortunate I got to grow up in a fairly decent America before the governments ethics went down the crapper and congress outsourced its job to the executive branch in fact creating an eventual dictatorship. God help us all if this traitor and his horned minions get re-elected, if this much damage has been done in three years another four will certainly finish it off as a free country. Sadly its been going down hill for decades, the socialists have been hammering away at it since day one almost. I just dont understand the mindset of someone wanting to destroy the greatest free country on earth.

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 8:58amLets see: A Budget is supposed to be a guideline to allow you to spend money on certain expenditures. But when you get to end of the fiscal year and there is money left over – GUESS WHAT? Most companies make sure to spend it anyways – if not then that department gets less the next year! And if there is not enough money in the Budget then more is spent anyways to make sure they get enough for the next fiscal year! OBAMA AND HARRY REID HAS NO BUDGET ON PURPOSE – MAINLY BECAUSE A BUDGET DOESN’T SEEM TO MATTER TO OUR OUT OF CONTROL GOVERNMENT! TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does it make sense to have a budget for money we don’t have ?

Posted on April 19, 2012 at 7:55amEveryone of these elected officials is in violation of their constitutional duties !!! The Demoncrats, for failing to establish a budget and the Republicans for failing to hold them accountable. We are no longer a nation that lives by laws ! We have become a nation that lives by the whims of a few corrupt men and women who have no business holding their seats in Congress.
Here is just one of the many shocking facts about our current state of affairs, thanks to these criminals.
>>>>>By 2050, the national debt is set to hit 344 percent of Gross Domestic Product. <<<<<

Its been long figured they will use the not having a budget as part of the battle this Nov. especially as the debt ceiling battle comes to the fore; Obama needs panic and chaos mixed with uncertainty and fear for him to be reelected as the ‘saviour of the world.’

Posted on April 18, 2012 at 9:11pmBudget, what budget…..the Dems are kind of like treating the budget like a rabid homeless person. If you don’t make eye contact, and walk by fast enough, maybe it won’t notice us and make us give it a dollar. But like a rabid homeless person, an ignored budget will simply start to fester, soil itself, stink to high heaven, and eventually, go insane and kill us. That’s right Harry, just ignore the problem, sooner or later, it WILL get its dollar, and give you fleas.
