Reuters reports that more than 1,300 Syrians, including a brigadier-general, fled to Turkey overnight Tuesday. With about 47,500 refugees now in Turkey, some observers predict that the end is most definitely near for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad against an uprising that began almost 17 months ago.
The civil war in Syria has been covered extensively on “Real News.” With an end to the conflict in sight, the Tuesday panel discussed what it could look like practically on the ground in a post-Assad Syria. Will there be retaliatory attacks and oppression? Could chaos erupt in the wake of an Assad exit? What position will the United States take in the region? Watch a clip from Tuesday’s show below:

Report Post »I see where your coming from, were so close its Crazy. Amen and Godspeed! Without him the World is Doomed, and I’m not referring to obamanation of Desolation. If ya get my drift! As far as Syria; Doom is on the Horizon. The destruction of Damascus from being a City has yet to happen. I’m afraid Chemical, Biological and Nuclear Weapons, are about to bring the World to its knees! When we have people in the World and their only desire is to Kill, the World and all of us are in Big Trouble! How could we forget about hitler, his Atrosities, and how he came into power? God forgive us for whats about to happen in this World!… “for there are other Worlds than these my friend, other Worlds than these”!
