The Commission on Presidential Debates announced their schedule for this year’s presidential debates this week, and as was expected by many conservatives, a lineup was named with several moderators recently criticized for hostility towards the Romney administration including, Candy Crowley and Bob Schieffer. The VP debate will be moderated by Martha Raddatz, who has written for The New Republic, a magazine that has called the Ryan pick “lunacy.”
On “Real News” Tuesday the panel discussed the uproar that has emerged amongst some conservatives over the debate announcement, and whether this could detract from the effectiveness of the debates as a tool for the American voter? The panel also discussed what the debate commission could be doing to advance these type of events into the 21st century, and whether Americans place too much importance on the debates?

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 11:05amThank you Buck Sexton for telling it like it is. He’s the only panelist who strongly stated that this is a liberally biased selection of moderators. Can we all stop pretending that news people are impartial? Time to shatter that liberal myth. Domenech was right as well, there is not enough range in the ages of these moderators, too heavily weighted in the senior citizen group. To pretend that the extreme liberal bent( writing for The New Republic etc) of these moderators doesn’t skew and influence aspects of the debate is either delusional or stupid. If you were Romney or Ryan and you looked out at any of these moderators, would you feel they represented an impartial perspective? No, because you know they are all pulling for the “other guy”, not one out of the four are in your corner. I watched this whole clip on GBTV and Will Cain defended the selection of these uber liberal debate moderators. Cain talks out of both sides of his mouth and never takes a stand, he should stop pretending to be something that he is not.

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 9:24amAmericans need to contact this commission and demand that we have at least 3 VP debates and 10 presidential debates. This will give Americans a chance to see the candidates being forced to discuss the issues WE care about and not dictate to us what the campaign is going to be about. Romney and Ryan need to challenge Obama and Biden in public to agree to these debates. Put them on the spot and ask them, are you man enough to face us in these debates and to discuss the issues?

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 12:23amWhy on earth do the Republicans take this baloney from the Progressive/Liberal media. Romney and Ryan need to grow a pair and tell them not just no, HELL NO!! Not until they get a say as to who moderates these debates.
Report Post »Who elected this liberal group to determine who moderates the debates. The moderators shoud be agreed to by both sides.
