‘Real News From The Blaze’: Too Big to Jail

Last week the Department of Justice made an odd public announcement that the they would not be prosecuting anyone from Goldman Sachs following the Senate’s 2011 financial-fraud probe, resulting in critics on both sides crying foul. Democratic Senator Carl Levin has claimed that the announcement illustrates the Justice Department’s lax enforcement of its rules, conservatives are pointing to cronyism within the department that appears to have created a two teir system of enforcement; one teir for the big Wall Street firms, and the other for everyone else.
Author of Throw Them All Out, Peter Schweizer, has written extensively on financial cronyism and the Justice Department. Schweizer joined “Real News” Wednesday to discuss whether the latest announcement on Goldman Sachs is another example of DOJ corrupting our legal system, and where the line must be drawn between being pro-free market and pro-big business:

Can Gaybama issue a pardon for potential crimes yet to be investigated? I doubt it. I’m picturing Holder and a few of his Goldman-Sachs cronies taking turns watching each others back in a cold, dark and dank detention center…or renouncing their US citizenship (a piece of cake for Holder) and flying off to Zurich on Nov. 7…
