Posted on March 2, 2012 at 1:34pmLet’s not be responsible. Let’s be totally irresponsible and trash any conservative candidate that brings up our Obama-care doomsday scenarios. Let’s continue to take out of SS and Medicare and Obamacare than we put in and let the deficits roll up, and up. Let’s just be the liberal and Obama utopia – Greece.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 5:05pmBased on the information I heard about paying into Medicare over life $150K and taking out
Report Post »an additional $300K would mean that a 100% or double outlay. After 40 years.
with a private investor putting up $150K would have to net you 2.00% rate of growth each an every year over that period. Is that so hard to expect. The real problem is that the Goverment does not have any controls on the weekly funds atomically withdrawn from each an ever salaried employee and spent it on welfare recipients and other social programs. You need to hold people accountable for committing fraud in government most of all because that is what is occurring fraud and theft. If we have some courage to put some of these employees of the people in jail, maybe the system would work much better. So adding death panels either at conception or at end of life still will not solve the abuse theft and out right fraud.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 3:43pmThe explosion in healthcare and insurance costs started when they pass the law mandating that hospitals treat anyone without insurance.
They should have said the ER must run them through triage and determine if it is life threatening then only treat those. The others should be refused and sent to a doctor the next day.
Do some research if you don’t believe me………….when you require something be given fro free, it will drive costs up dramatically not down.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 3:14pmHealth care will be only for the super rich in the not to distant future. The question was asked how do you tell the American people that their health care is broken, the government will do like private business are doing. They will not allow anyone who has a medical problem on their insurance, and those left will pay astronomical premiums. This is now happening at my son’s company. The owner went in the first of the week and fired anyone who had a medical problem, then announced that their premiums for the rest was going up 50%. Those who were fired were over 50 years of age by the way. Get ready America, the private insurance companies and business owners have screwed us in the past, now it is the government turn.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 2:21pmEverybody should watch the last season of Torchwood: Miracle Day that was on Starz last year. They fictionally showed what happens when the government is in charge of the rules for treating the sick. It is very scary because the discussion Real News had and what Torchwood exposed is not too far off.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 11:47amI believe in God. God has the power to kill, permit death, or to save. Typically God does not intervene with natures course. 7 million Jews can no longer attest to that.
Obamacare will live long and get more onerous. The majority of politicians, left and right, seek power and find the means through increasing government tyranny. It is not Obama that is the problem, but the entire government. The check that was the Constitution has been so bastardized and forgotten that it plays no role in our governance.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 12:41pmThis. I see it all the time at work. Someone sneezes and they go to the doctor.
We had the opportunity to switch to HSA accounts, but our operations manager said “But if you wake up tomorrow dying, you’re going to have to pay out of pocket”. I tried to explain to people that that is very unlikely, but the damage was done. The fear had been planted. Forget the fact that most of the people I spoke to are generally healthy and could easily save the money pre-tax for years until something major happened. They were suddenly worried that they might wake up with cancer.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 7:00amObamacare will not last. There are only two options:
1) Obamacare is repealed by the next president, or..
2) Obamacare bankrupts the government, collapses the dollar, and sets the healthcare industry back a generation.
There is no way the system stands.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 2:31amI hope not. Government should not mandate any product, or company, and or service. IT is UN-CONSTITUTIONAL.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 7:04amFlood insurance?
They already mandate healthcare for some, Medicare and Medicade…
They already mandate a massive, livelong investment in a failing retirement plan, Social Security…
I threw you some soft pitches there, WSG, feel free to hit them out of the park!

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 1:02pm@TexasChris: I don’t know about other parts of the country, but in SoCal, flood insurance is not mandated. I don‘t think even homeowner’s insurance is mandated. Of course, only a fool would go without. Earthquake insurance is extremely expensive around here, so most people don’t carry it. Most people just secure their valuables (picture frames secured to the wall, statues with adhesive on the bottom, etc). Even with insurance, if the earthquake is big enough, you’re going to be displaced for a long time, so it’s almost better to save that money (depending on where you live) and use it to buy a new home.

Posted on March 1, 2012 at 7:01amI think he would repeal parts of it, but not all. He is PRO mandate, and that’s the part that will really hurt the healthcare industry (as opposed to the INSURANCE industry), and the economy in general.
