The GOP platform committee met for the last time Monday and the details of the 2012 platform are beginning trickle out. While we won’t get a look at the full platform until next week, several Republicans involved in the process have told Human Events that the platform will be a more conservative document than 2008. The shift right from the George W. Bush administration and 2008 nominee John McCain reflects the rise of libertarian influences from the Tea Party and Ron Paul supporters.
On “Real News” Tuesday the panel discussed the details released thus far regarding the platform, and how significant the document is for voters and a potential Romney/Ryan administration:

Posted on August 22, 2012 at 7:40amIt’s another RINO convention lineup. Allen West should deliver the keynote, Marco Rubio should speak about integration, Ron Paul should speak about interventionalism, Jim DeMint should speak as the titular head of the TEA party, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul should all be contributing. Instead we have Crispy Cream Christi!

Posted on August 21, 2012 at 9:14pmPersonally, I don’t care what the platform is, what happens at the debates, etc. All I know is that this country cannot survive another 4 years of Obama. I’m sick of the discussion, the nit-picking, the name-calling, the class warfare, and the overall divisiveness. Let’s just get this election over with and kick Obama to the curb! Let’s bring respectability back to the office of the President.

Posted on August 21, 2012 at 9:47pmI’m actually looking forward to the debates, I‘m hoping Romney can show how different his presidency will be from Obama’s. If I feel like he is not going to have the backbone to make some serious reductions in the deficit I will probably vote for Gary Johnson.

Posted on August 21, 2012 at 11:14pmI concur with you and I also agree with liberty – I know it is hard to believe that there are some still undecided – there are. There are people in my Sunday School class that do not have the internet or cable – who only have the state controlled media. It is still up to us. We have to do everything to educate. We also cannot worry about being popular
There are actually women in my SS class that sit there with mouths agape who have never heard anything contrary to the O campaign except what they hear from me. Fortunately they trust me more than they do the O regime or the media.
It is up to us

Posted on August 22, 2012 at 4:35amHere is the platform for the debates;
Obama and a percentage of debate questions will be focused on getting Romney to make a comment that they can spin into an anti Romney ad and topic that the media can make the headline for 2 weeks. Akin questions are already written I’m sure. Expanded abortion questions will follow. Our economy, freedom and superpower status will be much lower on the list of priorities because Romney will clearly stand as the stronger candidate there. They will have to assault him with abortion questions. I hope that he is prepared. I’ve known women who vote first on abortion (rights” (the legalization of ending some one else’s life for their convenience). All of that liberty vs socialism and freedom vs serfdom and economy stuff is just not important to them. They don’t WANT to grasp it. They have have an issue that they place as primary in the world.

Posted on August 22, 2012 at 10:27am@Soybomb315_2, I care about the future. I am a political junkie and have kept up with the issues probably better than most. I’m just SICK of it all! Now for a political junkie to get sick of it all, you might be able to realize how bad it all is!
I confess, I’m addicted to following this stuff (See, I’m here right now!), it’s just that there is so much B.S. that it’s disgusting. I can’t wait until Romney is elected, then maybe I’ll be able to relax – a tiny bit.
Regarding the debates, I’ll watch them for entertainment value. It will be fun seeing Romney annihilate Obama, and Ryan tear Biden to ribbons. However, I seriously doubt it if anything that happens during one will ever change my vote to Obama. We just can’t get worse than Obama.
Just for fun to lighten the mood:

Posted on August 21, 2012 at 10:05pmSOY. The “Tea Party Movement” NOT the “Liberty/R3volution Movement” is what has the influence regarding the GOP platform. A Ron Paul $$ Bomb on the Tea Party anniversary a Tea Party grand pappy doesn’t make. I always found it funny when Ron Paul and his supporters tried to claim the Tea Party as their’s and stated that Republicans and the GOP co-opted the movement. Ron Paul never owned nor actually started the Tea Party Movement. Tea Partiers actually had to kick Ron Paul supporters to the curb many a time as an extreme embarrassment to the movement at many events.

Posted on August 21, 2012 at 10:56pmTHEREAL. SOY has an affinity for Bob “mumblin” Dylan just as he does with Ron “mumblin” Paul.
Check this out and just insert Ron Paul‘s name where you read Dylan’s. Funny stuff.
“Today’s installment: Soy Bomb!
Considering the sort of reverence most people hold for the rock icons of the 1960s, it’s weird to think that Bob Dylan ever needed any sort of a comeback. But that’s just what happened when the venerable rocker released Time Out of Mind in 1997. After decades floundering with middling music, Dylan finally seemed to be embracing his own mortality on the dark, desolate Time Out of Mind, which tapped into Dylan’s particular vision of love, death, freedom and the American experience. The minimalist flavor on the album pleased old fans (who were glad to have the old, weird Dylan back) and attracted a whole new generation of admirers.”
Lol.
