‘Real News’ War Room: Defining Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney has been the presumptive Republican nominee for president for months, and from very early on the Obama campaign has sought to define him with relentless attacks about Bain, outsourcing, Swiss bank accounts, off-shore investments and the latest Thursday, a new ad declaring that Romney would raise taxes on 18 million middle-class Americans. The Romney campaign has for the most part not fought back, regurgitating the same “Obama isn’t working” economic message for months and months as the Obama campaign floods the airwaves with ads and staff on cable news all working hard to define Romney in a negative image while often using claims that have since been invalidated.

On Thursday, the Romney campaign finally responded to the negative attacks with a new ad titled “No Evidence,” questioning the Obama campaign and the president’s honesty.

The video, which is already airing in swing states like Ohio and Virginia, attacks “Obama’s dishonest campaign,” even playing back video from his then-Democratic primary opponent Hillary Clinton in 2008 saying “Shame on you Barack Obama.”

The “Real News” panel discussed the change in strategy Thursday, and whether it is going to be enough. Will part of this defense be not only calling out the president, but defining who Mitt Romney really is and what he stands for, aside from just scaling back the policies of Barack Obama? Watch a clip from the War Room segment Thursday:

Look, all these talking heads mean nothing. i can tell you my mind is already made up on who I will cast my vote……I need no further “anaylysis” from all these talking heads to “clarify” how I think. Such a waste of time and why do you guys think that your opinion means more than what I think for myself?

The best way to think of Romney is Gumby.

Actually I am breaking Gumby’s balls here. Gumby has much more backbone.

Mitt has already been described as ‘coreless’.
He what he thinks will get him elected – until the next poll.
He’s more of an invisible man than Claude Rains.

I’m in Virginia. Seen lots of Obama and Romney ads already. Romney has not had a single limited government or Constitution ad. Not good enough Mitt

Romney has more than hinted at a war with Iran.
Make the Generals, the MIC and his big campaign donors happy – just like little Georgie.
They’re all deficit hawks until elected, than freak the treasury, the crumbling infrastructure and American blood.

LOL, why would he. He supports bigger government, the FED, more wars, less freedoms, and spending sprees. Hell his camp called the best ad so far in Romney’s favor a lie (the ad saying Romney wants to get Roe v Wade overturned and he wants to end federal funding of Planned Parenthood).

This story was posted an 1-1/2 ago and only 3 comments? Kind of says it all doesn’t it? Maybe no one can define who Mitt is because he hasn’t defined himself. I also waiting for him to say what he really stands for. I am afraid that we might have to wait for the debates to find out.

Unless you look at his record, you wont know who he really is until after he becomes president. But if you look at his record, you will know he is a pure progressive and a populist.

There is a guy with a flawless record and has a 30 year record of standing for the Constitution and principles….But he wasnt the guy they wanted. So unless you have the courage to vote 3rd party, you are stuck with the flip flopper

But if he did, he‘s afraid he’d have to reverse himself if a poll said so.

He’s a progressive. I thought after the restore honor post yesterday they eased up on their censorship and were going to let me present my argument, but… doing the right thing always only applied yesterday.

Blazers, should I vote for President Obama or presumtive wet cardboard repub nominee Mitt Romney? Here is the vote math.

Mitt Romney = +1 progressive flip flop +/-1 conservative
President Obama = +2 progressive socialist
Ron Paul = +1 real honest conservative

    Math does not lie.
