The July jobs report came out Friday and although it marks the biggest gain in five months–163,000 jobs – legislators on the left and right agree that it’s still not enough. With unemployment is still over 8 percent, at 8.3, many are looking at this as the “lost decade.” The numbers could spell real political trouble for President Obama, who has somehow managed to stay ahead in polls with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney despite a majority of voters agreeing that jobs and the economy is the number one issue this November. .
On ‘Real News’ Friday the panel discussed the still negative numbers, if Mitt Romney will be able to use them to his advantage, and when the continued slow recovery will take its toll on the president’s reelection hopes.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 11:13pmthis segment on jobs was a really solid discussion by all the panelists. Real News is so much better without S E Cupp and Will Cain.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 8:37pmObama thinks he is a big success. When will people wise up that he wants our money and jobs out of the USA. We aren’t getting anything. But Obama is getting everything he wants. We are right where he wants us. The rich supporting him and the banks and unions etc. that got all that money will be in the same boat as the rest of us if Obama gets 4 more years. He played us like a violin. Yup. He can be proud. His demolition derby is half way there.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 8:31pmL M Windpower of Little Rock laying off 234, more than 1/2 it’s workforce. that makes the wind blades. The Denmark based company blames drop in demand. On the same day Hawker Beechcraft in Little Rock states they are laying off 170.
Report Post »Green power helps but it is not the answer. Putting every last dime into it could not force it to work. Maybe decades from now but not in this era. It is not the time. The companies receiving the big money did not have the big expansions and big hires expected. They layed people off and outsourced the jobs out of the country. Obama’s left-handed sneaky pete method of spending US money to gain kudos from other nations. Green Energy is a front. Everything Obama does cost money and somehow we are broke and the companies and jobs can’t get out of America fast enough.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 8:30pmIt was nice to watch and listen to the REAL NEWS on GBTV (soon to be THE BLAZE) tonight. I attribute it to not having to sit through a usually long drawed out obloviation from SE CUPP. Enjoyable break.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 7:44pmWhen everyone who can possibly lose a job, loses their jobs, the unemployment numbers can only go up. Right?
Report Post »In other words, once you hit rock bottom the only place to go is up.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 7:11pmRecovery, what recovery are they referring to? The way the government screws with the numbers who really knows what the real unemployment number is? I did see somebody on TV,don’t recall his name but he claims the number is 22-23% unemployment, says he looked at all the stats and came up with this.

Posted on August 3, 2012 at 7:28pmThey hire and lay off and rehire and count that, most likely. They count half-jobs and temp jobs and anything that can look like a job. They are deceiving the public. These people are not making enough to live on and if they have a job, they are likely not even legal to have one, sort of like Obama.
