‘Real News’ War Room: Romney-hood Vs. Obamanomics

At a rally in Stamford Wednesday night President Obama said that the Romney tax plan amounts to “Robin Hood in reverse: Romney-hood.” The comments were met with cheers and applause from the crowd, but what are the facts when it comes to differences in tax policy and reform proposals from each candidate? The Wall Street Journal published a column Tuesday breaking down the stats behind the most clear disagreement between each candidate: how to tax the top earners and make sure everyone does their “fair share.” Some information presented by the Journal to help answer the question of what is the rich’s “fair share” includes:

  • The top 5%, top 1% and top 0.1% of Americans have been getting a bigger slice of all the income and paying a growing share of federal taxes.
  • Average tax rates have come down for everyone. On average, the tax bite on the rich is bigger—except for those whose income mainly comes from capital gains and dividends.
  • The share of taxes paid by the bottom 40% of the population has been shrinking along with their share of income.

On “Real News” Wednesday the panel discussed the president’s remarks on Romney’s tax proposals, both tax plans as generally outlined by each side, and whether the candidates’ plans on the issue could even stomach and survive the debate in D.C.:

Obviously, Obama’s campaign is not aware of who Robin Hood was.
He took money back from the government and returned it to the workers of the area, who had been unjustly taxed.

But then again, thanks Obama, you described Romney doing exactly the opposite of what you’ve done. It’s time to return the money to the workers in the US, and choke the government until it shrinks back to a manageable size.

Someday I would like to live in Romney’s hood, Obama’s hood is getting scary. Lots of people are wearing hoodies but you still are a racist if you wear a hood. Some people say there are hoods in the White House, I have a hood on the car in front of my house. The English language is sometimes confusing. :)

I find it interesting that Obama is referencing “Robin Hood.” I just saw the movie (the Kevin Costner version) the other day and was thinking that the story of Robin Hood is a lot like what is happening today. According to the legend, Robin Hood robbed from the rich and gave to the poor. The legend makes it appear that this robbing is OK. So, the moral of the story is that it’s OK for the poor to rob from the rich? The Obama Administration (and common sense) is making it clear that it is not OK for the rich to rob from the poor? So why is it OK for the poor to rob from the rich? Of course, maybe the justification is that the rich robbed from the poor to begin with. However, in that case, it wouldn‘t be robbing because you can’t steal what already belongs to you. You just have to prove that it really does belong to you. Maybe this is why Obama is insisting that business owners are not responsible for their own success (i.e., “you didn’t build it”). Anyway, I was thinking while watching the movie that Robin Hood may just be the very first communist or at least a source of inspiration for Karl Marx, etc.

If you haven’t seen the movie, another version of this whole “Robin Hood” theme can be found in the 2011 movie “In Time.” The only difference is that time is what was robbed vs. money (time is currency in the movie). And it is very obvious that the movie glorifies communism.

Robin Hood, a mythical figure, was considered a hero by giving to the poor through his robbing of the rich. “Trickle down” economics as promised by Obama wouldn’t you think? I find it comical that Obama would accuse Romney of the same agenda.

I just LOVE the way liberals MAKE UP NAMES, like Islamaphobia? haha The liberals have been using the “Robin hood analogy since about 1995? They need some new material! Too bad Romney GAVE so much money to charities. Flies in the face of their argument of TAKING from the poor? How do you do that, exactly? HAHA Again, they make NO SENSE. (I still like “ASSHOLEROD” and “RAM -THE-MAN-U-ALL” better)

Wait a minute! Robin Hood is a story. The hero, Mr Hood, stole from the rich and gave to the poor. But at the time of Robin Hood, the rich were the government. And what they had was stolen from the poor in the form of taxes. So if romney is robin in reverse, then bring it on! Romney ought to point this out.

Landon410′s tax plan, put the Bush tax cuts back in place for everyone, get our corporate tax rates in line with Canada’s which are about 10% lower than ours
then everyone who pays 0% tax give them a little tax increase to 1%

do the math, if we have 10,000,000 paying 1% tax, and their average income is $20,000 thats 2 billion a year in tax that can be used against the national debt.

if that same amount of people only make $10,000 a year thats 1 billion dollars a year to be used against the national debt.

    Every FAIR little bit helps

Everybody is missing the whole arguement. Robin Hood stole from the government to give back to the people. Mitt Romney should wear “Romneyhood” as a badge of honor.

Technically that really isn’t the case. Robin Hood stole from King John, King Richard the Thirds (Lion heart) little brother who he left in charge while he went off “crusading”. According to the legend Robin and his men joined King Richards band upon his return, after King Richards ransom was paid to France.

You would think that Obama and his associates would be more careful throwing the term “HOOD” around … the only “hoods” I have seen in this election are the CHICAGO kind.

What “creature” likes “dirt” more than a worm?
    It should be very apparent to all it is the Obama / Chicago / Soros / Emanuel / Pelosi / Ried / Van Jones / Jarrett / etc… “Fabrication Machine”! To all those folks on the left a question for you;
These are the type of people you want to secure your future as an American? Are you F**king kidding me? Even if you do subscribe to the “conservative values” here in America, you should have some sense of what they are doing to this country… shouldn’t you? I mean at what level of lowered standard will you, can you actually live with?
