Real or Fake? Video Shows Alleged Navy Vet Beaten After Spraying Anti-Japanese Graffiti On Car

It’s a video apparently showing racism, violence, and a defaced Mitsubishi Evo on the December 7th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor, but is it real?
The video clip below, which is already up on a few sites, including Business Insider via Jalopnik, appears to show a “racist Navy Vet” who spray-painted the Japanese car of an Asian-American owner with the date of Pearl Harbor, 12-7, and “USN” in a parking lot (location as of yet undetermined).
While we are only shown the aftermath of the alleged incident, the narrator very enthusiastically relays into his camera-phone how he ”whooped your f****** ass you fa****, you wanna f*** with my s***” followed by observations such as ”you‘re lucky you’re still alive… f******* b****” and ”you‘re lucky I’m not leaving you in a f****** ditch somewhere.”
The alleged owner of the vandalized vehicle appears keen on his knowledge of the law. At one point in the video, either the car owner or his associate yells “you’re going to prison– that is over $1000 of damage, that’s a warrant… we want you in prison.”
Assuming for a moment the veracity of this entire clip, the car owner appears to casually admit to his own assault in response to the vandalism, and adds to it the continued threat that the beaten and bloody “Navy vet” is lucky to be alive.
This all appears quite curious, as aggravated assault is a more serious charge than vandalism, and there is no loophole in the law for assault and battery in response to spray-painting a car.
Think of it this way: If someone were to throw a baseball through another person’s window, it would be highly inadvisable from a legal standpoint for that person to run across the street and take a bat to the window-breaker’s knees in response.
As for the possibility of hate crime charges, the Evo owner throws around his fair share of anti-gay language, which could seem to put him in a precarious position on that score as well.
None of this is to say that the alleged vet’s racist graffiti is anything but deplorable, if real. It’s just that, looking objectively at the situation, there are a number of things that don’t seem to add up.
And we all know there are plenty of hoax fight videos (content warning on the link) flying around the internet at any given time.
If this video was indeed fake, the next question would be: why make it in the first place? Perhaps in the hope that it goes viral to promote the Evo, or just to create an internet hoax for kicks?
The Blaze will follow-up on this story as new information emerges. The clip claims that the Navy vet was arrested — which means once we get a location for this incident, we can confirm whether this actually happened in the way it appears in the video, what charges were filed, and any other pertinent information.

No way he could have lost to that scrawny lil guy. Karate or not. Either way if he did do it that was pretty stupid. The Asian kid probably doesnt even know what Pearl Harbor was about. Plus the Vet looked kinda drunk to me. Not that that is an excuse.

One well placed jab and it’s lights out. Plus the vet looked old and winded, probably found out his age has caught up with him. HAHA… No excuse for stupidity like that. I feel for the vet but breaking the law in such a way was just childish and proved nothing.

He is apologizing just like someone caught would apologize. He could zip outta there if he had a mind to but he didn’t….most people would have. He didn’t because he was caught, his license tag was on camera and so was he. Best he could do was own up. Doesn’t make it right but it makes it awefully real and disgusting. It’s really annoying when you get these folks that believe every video out of the norm must be fake. Sorry folks, but a good old fashion a$$whooping is not fake. Also, he is a Navy Vet and yes, it was a racist Navy Vet that did this crime. Quit trying to hide from the fact that some Vets aren’t perfect.

This was a classic beatdown the way we use to do to settle a dispute, but times have changed and people believe they must just take it and call the police. Why? Nothing like a good a$$whopping to put reality back in check. You saw the look on the guys face as he wiped the blood, reality sunk in and he realized what a stupid crime he had just committed.

Beside the minivan & crappy K-Cars, the Dodge & Plymouth Colt (Mitsubishis) saved Chrysler partly because they were good cars & had VERY high MPG to help make Chrysler the only Car Co that met CAFE standard, As I remember GM & Ford were NOT penalized for not meeting them way back then.

Besides, while so-called “American” car companies like GM and Chrysler can’t survive without a government bailout and actually build cars in Canada and Mexico, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan build most of their cars in America and hire free labor as opposed to union labor.
So who’s more American in the end? Our old enemies or the current management or our Obama-loving cronies? The answer is obvious.

If I catch someone messing with it, the outcome will not be pleasant – for them or, possibly, me.

The new Castle is a beautiful thing allowing a man to defend his own or his neighbors property the way it should be. How does that happen? Did he back hand him? No this dont add up. The guy in the car is WAY to cool for getting whipped. Second of all, as I tried to imagine the events and how they would go down, why wouldn’t you just call the cops ?? The next thought that occurred, is think about what the OWS people do to private property … hmm wonder what the thoughts are on this ? I bet the libs would have justified the beat down but defend the OWS people. Just my guess. Lastly, I suspect the guy didn’t get as beat down as it appears. His response reflects that of a person who met his match and didn’t anticipate the kids being as tough as they were, ending in the man submitting but only do to the fact he realized the physical expense was going to be so severe, his end results of winning were questionable. SO he backed out of it. I suspect he is drunk as well.
