Red Lobster Waitress Reportedly Attacked for Refilling Water Glasses Too Often

Police say a waitress was attacked at a Red Lobster restaurant in Illinois on Friday — the second such customer-on-server assault at the location in seven months.

The latest incident at the Fairview Heights, Ill. restaurant happened at about 2:15 p.m. Friday afternoon, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Police said the waitress had water thrown on her and was hit repeatedly by either open hands or menus. Three suspects were taken into custody.
Police told the newspaper the motive for the attack was unknown, but a witness to the incident told KMOV-TV it started when the three female customers were unhappy that the server kept refilling their water glasses.
The witness said that as the waitress walked away, one of the customers threw a water glass at her, striking her in the back of the head. When the victim turned around, the witness said the customer picked up a menu and hit her in the face with it.
According to KMOV, restaurant workers and customers kept the suspects from leaving until police arrived. Paramedics treated the waitress at the scene before she went back to work.
A similar incident occurred at the same restaurant in December when four customers attacked a waitress for bringing the wrong drink order, police said. There was no indication the two incidents were related, the Post-Dispatch reported.
A Red Lobster spokesperson told the newspaper the incident was “unfortunate” and said “the safety of our employees and guests is our highest priority.”

It has to do with IQ, and the degradation of ethics, and morals in our society. People that work hard waitressing, or serving the public should not have to put up with this kind of harrassment. Penalties for this kind of public activity should fit the crime. These customers committed a felony assault with intent to injure, and should have to spend hard time for their actions.

There are; however, alot of just plain stupid, morons out there that encompass every other race. This behavior is not only isolated among blacks. They try to get free food by saying the service or food was bad. They get their way I would say about 75% plus of the time. My wife worked for the company and the company itself is pretty good, but they will side with the problem customer to keep the noise down. Every day my wife worked, which she was only part time they gave away free food to these people. I feel sorry we can’t deal in facts, but the facts are there is a problem with these customers and it’s not going to go away by giving them free food to keep the noise down. They do it at a lot of places and end up getting free food or whatever they can get. The bottom line is I’m paying more for those that make stuff up and get loud so they get free food etc. Blacks’ servers here don’t want to wait on them here because they know it’s a problem and don’t tip. My wife ended up quitting her job because of this problem at Red Lobster. I hope someday we can address the problems of this race without being called a Racist. The facts are this race has some big problems fitting in to this world. To think you can throw things at people and slap them for doing their job, what are they thinking?

Carolina and every night when she got home she would have these stories of the black women that treated her like a personal slave and then run up huge bills then walk out of the restaurant without paying or even sometimes just leave some change on the table as a tip for a $100 food and drink tab. She said by far they are the worst customers to wait on. She has been a restaurant manager for many respectable places and I know for a fact it was not her bad service.So know when ever I eat out I always leave a tip no matter how bad the service was because I know their paycheck depends on the tips that you make.

The sad fact is that I was a host for a while and every server that I knew did not like serving black guests for that very reason. The majority of them were rude and never tipped or tipped a doller or two regardless of the bill amount. NOw, There were also some wonderful black guests as well. I am not racist, but unfortunatly the stereotypes that exist exist for a reason. People judge based on their experiences.

Report Post »I grew up 2 hours south of St. Louis. The majority of blacks are this way. I remember in HIGH SCHOOL in the late 70′s, early 80′s having a black man who was extremey polite and spoke with an African accent holding the door open for me and I was shocked. I didn’t know there were nice black people until I joined the Navy. We didn’t see color in the Navy. My best friend was black. It’s also what you experience. I had a supervisor in the Navy who was Korean and hated women and thought they should not be in the work force but barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. I thought all Korean men were like that until I met a few that didn’t meet the stereotype. Obama has brought us back to the 50′s in race relations, but as far as I know at least they were polite and abused wrongfully in the 50′s.

And you know what? In those restaurants, and everywhere for that matter, people act rude and sometimes get arrested. Do you want to know what I find strange? That this website reports those incidents when the person is black, but not when they are white. Now why do you suppose that would be?
If you were to scour local news, you’d probably find thousands of local events where people are arrested for being belligerent and threatening at a restaurant or bar. Happens all the time, every day, all across the United States. Why do you suppose that this particular incident makes headline news here?
I’m happy to help you with that question. Because these particular people were black and there is a photograph of them to prove they’re black. All the white people who got arrested yesterday for being drunk and belligerent? They don’t make Blaze headlines. And you know why don’t you?

Also a restaurant is not a bar. JLS tries to make the analogy that the restaurant chain Red Lobster is a honky tonk bar. Red Lobster is a family restaurant where many families, elderly and children go, and it is not a bar.
…and like you mentioned this is the 2nd time it has happened at the same RED LOBSTER (a family restaurant, not a bar) in a couple of months. The patrons were drinking WATER when the incident happened.

In the area I live in a African-American bar/club will only last about a month before they have to close down. Now JZS says that happens in bars all the time. I don’t know what bars JZS goes to, but like Chris Rock says, and I have seen in my area, black clubs have a very short life span before they are forced to close down because of violence.
Now is Chris Rock a racist? Why is the black audience laughing and agreeing with what he is saying?

Having worked as a food server at several restaurants during my college years, I NEVER witnessed an assault requiring a 911 call to police. Nowadays I eat out on a fairly regular basis, and it’s the same thing. This would have been an extraordinary incident. I’m a news junkie, both local and national, and I’m tuned in. I feel like I would have noticed something like this if it were a trend. JZS is just making up cr@p to buttress his flimsy argument.

While standing in a Hollywood, FL grocery store check-out line my wife was pushed aside by an obese black woman who proceeded to brazenly scoop instant film packages (c. 1994) into a bag from several checkstand displays before walking out of the store. Being an ex-cop and prompted by my wife (despite my better judgement) I walked out and wrote down the license plate number to the van the Shaniquas had climbed into to make their escape. Then all hell broke loose. My wife and I had to be locked in the store manager’s office for our protection until the police arrived 20 minutes later. The Jonquitas had ditched the stolen film in an outside store trash can (which explained why a search of their van turned up zip) later by an employee. Moral of this and many other stories: Obama‘s Kids think they’re immune from decent, law-abiding citizens who are tiring of their crap; but they are mistaken. Just ask Trayvon…

One black guy called the waitress over again and again asking stupid questions and asking for this and asking for that, he didn’t like the sauce, the dish was too hot, more ice in water, etc. etc.. He did this repeatedly. They think because the govt is on their side against the rest of us that the whole world revolves around them. And they always defend the fed govt. Ever notice that? Oh, and the other black guy kept his mouth shut and acted like a gentlemen. I call them like I see them.

Is it okay since other people of differing races display stupid activities in public places?
Report Post »The gist of the story is that this is the second time a similar incident has happened in this particular restaurant. But, the next point is that this assault was over the fact that their water glasses were being refilled! Imagine the horror of that? Would you strike somebody for keeping you glass full? I certainly don’t think so, nor do I believe that at least 99.999% of the people here on The Blaze would do such a thing. It is just rational, civilized behavior. Something is disturbingly wrong with the people who committed this act, just like the previous act. As for that, we can toss in a number of previous stories here regarding similar and even larger attacks in, I believe a Denny’s, and other restaurants.

Black’s coming in dressed to the nine, order food then complain, after eating most of it, that it was not what they wanted,so they don’t pay. It is sliding downhill but not anything like E St. The majority of crime at the stores and restaurants are perpetrated by E. St. citizens who come up. Fairview is a middle class suburb of St. Louis and full of great people. Many current and retired military from the nearby Scott AFB. The sad thing is the Democrat political machine has gained a hold there and is taking the city down a bad path. That is or used to be the busiest Red Lobster in the country, always a crowd.
Many many great dark skinned people live in this area and are wonderful. It is the few hood rats that give the others of there continental origin a bad name.

I have had enough of it, I am a white person living in detroit, not a safe place for a white person who feels as I do, but I am getting sick of my dad telling me stories of blacks trying to walk all over him because he is white. Constantly having people cut in front of him in almost any line he gets in, rudeness abounds here it seems. I know I am training vigorously in self defense, I literally have not gone out a whole lot since we moved here, but when I do, I am not taking crap from anyone whatever race they may be. And maybe I will get mobbed, but I will give as good as I get or better. Hopefully within the next few months I will be leaving Detroit and I will certainly never look back. And you can say whatever you want about how our views are racist, here in detroit, I see the truth, and the truth is I am one of the few whites around, and at least half the population here(probably more) are drunks, druggies, pimps, or whores
