A GOP official says the party is considering making changes to the way presidential debates are run for the 2016 cycle, citing concern that moderators "have an agenda" and saying they've been "reduced to nothing more, in some cases, to entertainment." (AP)
PHOENIX (AP) — Republican Party leaders are troubled by how debates have been staged for the party’s presidential contenders and are discussing having the party take over control of the events for the 2016 election cycle, a senior member of the Republican National Committee said Friday.
“We‘re very concerned that we really don’t control the topics, the venue, the crowds, nothing,” said Bruce Ash, Arizona‘s national committeeman and chairman of the RNC’s rules committee. “The problem we’re trying to fix is being able to have control over the destiny of our own party and …. how the candidates are introduced to the country.”
Ash said the concerns and the possibility of making changes for 2016 will be discussed by the RNC during an April meeting to be held in Scottsdale, Ariz. The next GOP presidential debate will be Wednesday in Mesa.
“We’re going to discuss the possibility in the next election cycle of a whole new approach to how debates are broadcast, who has the rights, the formats, the venues, everything. There’s a growing desire among Republican committee members to completely take control of the debates in the 2016 election cycle.”
Some party officials feel some debate moderators “have an agenda” that includes ginning up controversy and dissension within the party, Ash said during an interview. “This has been reduced to nothing more, in some cases, to entertainment.”

I can see no way for any of the current candidates other than Paul to defeat Obama, as at one point or another they have sided with many of his policies.
You would look rather silly talking about an individual mandate, bailouts, and immigration with Obama…when he points out the fact that YOU basically stood with him at one time or another.
Nobody like a shape shifting politician, and Paul is the only one who can actually back his current positions by pointing to his past.
The other fact of the matter is a huge number of Paul’s supporters simply will NOT vote for Santorum, Newt, or Romney, so if Paul loses the only hope for the Republicans this time around would be a brokered convention where Paul’s supporters issues were taken into consideration.
No more RINO’s…or bust.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 10:53pmIt is not a secret that most media outlets have either an obvious bias against or open, venomous contempt for anyone not inline with liberal, secular progressive worldviews. I’m not sure why the RNC would allow these outlets full control to damage all of the RNC candidates in the first place. It seems as if these outlets spend more time trying to damage all of the RNC candidates for the general election then trying to foster honest debate between the RNC candidates themselves. The RNC should have enough control put a stop to that DNC strategy of scorched Earth.

Mitt’s Bumpy Ride In Michigan
by JEN KUZNICKI on FEBRUARY 19, 2012
Mitt Romney’s literature and signs have been at every Republican event for years. He had quite an organization in 2008 with signs that said, “Michigan for Mitt,” with the cute reference of the appearance of the lower peninsula being a mitten, and Mitt’s name, well, it’s just precious.
But here we are, 9 days from Michigan’s Presidential Primary, which the GOP in Michigan moved up and lost half of it’s delegates as a result, and now Mitt has to actually compete.
Mitt lost Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, South Carolina, and Minnesota, and may lose Maine. He has so far won New Hampshire, Nevada and Florida.

There are many of us who will not vote for someone who is hell bent on destroying the Bill of Rights with laws like the NDAA and the DHS/TSA molestation squads all based on a Booggyman.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 10:14amFor the Republicans to allow control of the debates to the radical leftist media that works 24/7 for the re-election and election of rabid leftist ideologues is just plain stupid.
Just as stupid are those who agree to go on interviews with the likes of these same people, David Gregory being the worst of the lot. He openly flaunts his pro-leftist ideology, without any effort at all to appear neutral. It’s really shameful.
We’re going through another lackluster Republican process of being forced to select a candidate that is less bad than the others, with practically no charisma at all. The left is crossing their fingers hoping Santorum will be the nominee, because he has zero chance of defeating Obama.
Romney has a longshot chance, but I doubt he could defeat him either.
The organs of leftist communications have swayed enough public opinion towards an entitlement state of mind, so we are apt to see Obama in for another term.
After that, watch out. He will be going after guns and looking to replace as many whites as possible with affirmative action blacks in every position imaginable, just like his FFC czar, Mark Lloyd, has done to T.V. news where the stations are being forced to hire unqualified AA people over anyone else.
The community organizer and his minions will be on a rampage. Maxine Waters, Cynthia McKinney, and Sheila Jackson will have their kookie lamentations regarded as serious complaints.
America will be like Detroit.

At least I am happy that this finally seems to be getting the attention and action it needs – with the “Media Matters” scandal, etc. even though that has been known for a long time too. “Justice” should always be “swift” but alas…..it’s pretty much the opposite!!!! Selfish, greedy lawyers, politicians have all skewed everything to their benefit and the detriment of society. Maybe with the help of Divine intervention, we’ll be able to get “back on track” as we were meant to be in the beginning, but enough have to realize we need God/Jesus to do it. It’s too heavily entrenched now and probably have about half of the country wanting “liberalism”, ignorant and/or don’t care. I suggest much repentance and prayer!!!

Maybe that’ll be Chris Christie. Then, so as not to have a heads up race between Christie and a real conservative like Rand Paul, some “social conservative” like Huckabee or Santorum (maybe Huckabee again) will jump in the race as the supposed alternative to the liberal Christie and will distract voters from the real choice between progressive Christie and conservative Paul. While they’re getting all the attention, Rand Paul will be given the Ron Paul treatment (i.e. ignore him, he can’t win, he’s a kook on foreign policy, etc.) and there will be enough Republican primary voters dumb enough to dismiss Paul and vote for the progressives that the media and the establishment has told them to vote for.

I also do not buy into the candidates preferring not to show up for these debates. The more debates the better. They are going to reach a larger audience on tv than by traveling around shaking hands. I suspect some of them are tired of it or don’t want the pressure of competing. By saying they won’t show they are controlling what Americans get to see. Traveling around to different key states is not reaching all Americans and debates are.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 10:00amIf the GOP doesn‘t insist on a quid quo pro FOX debate for every one Obama gets on a liberal outlet they still haven’t learned their lesson. Last election Obama was fed the debate questions prior to the debate. That’s the reason he had only one debate on FOX and even then the moderator was an Obama supporter.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 10:17amStill can’t believe useless John McCain debated Obama with Gwen ifill as moderator. She was either in process of writing or in planning stages of writing a pro-obama book. If the gop candidate even accepts a debate with that political hack from ABC George stephanopolous the gop deserves to lose

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 8:41amGreat ideas, however more than 60 per cent of registered Republicans and unaffiliated voters will not even bother to vote.
Report Post »They do not want to be bothered with politics and many are too lazy.
Walking our neighborhoods and knocking on doors and convincing them to vote is the only solution.
You can get precinct lists from your Republican headquarters.
Talking to your friends and neighbors does work.
Posting your concerns on the Blaze is “ preaching to the choir”.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 8:56amI think you can influence your friends with email as well as plain talking. Send them facts. What is happening in the media is alot of lies. I believe that people are basically good and given the facts will make the right choice. Yes, sometimes we are lazy……..but if we are given the facts and the importance of this year’s vote by someone who is a friend ……can influence that person to get off the sofa and vote. They are going to take notice of a friend’s passion and conviction and listen to the facts and once presented with them they will also take a stand for what is right…….freedom and justice.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 9:01amTAXEVERYONE It‘s sad isn’t it,we have men fighting and dying in two wars and people won’t take the time to vote, something so basic yet vital.Although I despise all unions because of their communist origins they are organized,no pun intended, and they’re corrupt to the core.Unions will say or do anything legal or illegal to stay in power and union bosses enrich themselves at the expense of workers, they’re greedy fat cats.I don’t live in Wisconsin but I encourage all registered voters in Wisconsin to do everything legally possible to rid your state of parasitic unions.

They wish to silence The One that doesn’t tow their line. Ron Paul is getting WAY TOO MUCH air time.
The right/left, Repub/Dem paradigm is a fake attempt to divide and conquer. Is it any wonder this country is so messed up?

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 9:49amThey’ve actually done a good job of not giving RP any air time. One of my in-laws, who relies solely on TV news, told me the other day that he thought RP had dropped out of the race. I tipped the Blaze off to the Veterans for Ron Paul rally scheduled for Monday. One ceremony the veterans will turn their back to the white house and hold a salute. One second for every ACTIVE duty member that has committed suicide since Obama took office. The salute will last well over 10 minutes. I’m not banking on the Blaze to covering this ceremony because of the underlying support for the good doctor. Nor, do I expect to hear them report that the military has warned it‘s members and RETIREES that they are not permitted to march even if they’re not in uniform.

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 10:39amJUSTANGRY. Anyone from the Military… past, present or retired who would attend Adam Kokesh’s “Veterans for Paul” rally, or align themselves with this Moscow sponsored, Russia Today TV Show, Military record embellishing, talking turd sandwich… has got to have their heads so far up their rectums that anything they say here or anywhere else should be taken with a grain of salt. That includes Ron Paul the so-called Air Force “Flight Surgeon.” Great title for a guy who was an ear, nose and throat doc, never saw ‘Nam 9except on a map) and rode out the rest of his obligation giving physical exams in Texas,
Paul acolytes will align themselves with any POS that speaks positively of Ron Paul and makes it look like the Military is squarely behind your pacifist, isolationist and IMO, anti-Military candidate. Truly amazing.
If those in attendance don’t mind being used By Ron Paul and Adam Kokesh? God Bless ‘em one and all.
Btw, ill “Tattoo Neck’ for Paul be in attendance?

Posted on February 18, 2012 at 12:22pmI don’t know much about Adam or his show, Hoss. I just get the FB updates from the group which only subscribed to about a month ago. I heard (not seen for myself) him read the directive from a post yesterday. I know you’re not on FB, so I can’t really give you that link.
I know RP didn’t see combat like a Marine. Heck no one in the USAF or Navy sees combat like a Marine short of some pilots and Seals. I know I want peace, but I’m not sure Ron Paul or I are pacifists. I would have went in MUCH harder in Afganistan and left the country in rubble, salting the earth so their heroin money couldn’t fund Al Queda. I would not have gone into Lybia, Yugoslavia, or Iraq because they didn’t attack us. You know I respect what you’ve done, and think veterans who don’t support RP voices should be heard as well. Even those that support our current POTUS, though I cringe when thinking about them. I’m not one to say, “the veterans overwhemingly support RP” without noting that there are quite a many who don’t. Short of family, I care more about what you and the other non-Paul supporting veterans think than any civilian.
I’ll post something to their blog asking them to post the directive.

Here’s the link, but I don’t know how credible it is. It all seems to come back to that Adam fellow you seem to dislike so much. I was also mistaken that Retirees were not permitted to march, but rather not permitted to march in uniform.

I think the RNC needs some MAJOR changes. Some fresh blood. Some people who are able to think outside the box, and excel with modern technology like social media. People that understand the power of a visual image. None of this is rocket science. Ever heard the phrase, ” a picture is worth a thousand words?” I suspect the RNC is full of well-connected, good-ol’-boys.
