Harry Reid Reveals Bombshell Claim Against Mitt Romney

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has revealed strong, and questionable accusations against Mitt Romney. The Nevada Democrat has told the Huffington Post that a Bain investor called his office claiming that Romney did not pay any taxes for 10 years. Sen. Reid and his aides have not identified the alleged caller, and the Romney campaign has criticized the claims and irreverent comments from Sen. Reid in regards to the late George Romney in the Huffington Post story.

Democrats have pressed the former Massachusetts governor to release more than his 2010 tax return and 2011 estimate, which Sen. Reid insists that if revealed, would bar Romney from making it through a Senate confirmation process as a Cabinet nominee.

Sen. Reid claims that a former Bain Capitol investor, who the Nevada Democrat would not name, called his office about a month ago claiming that Romney “didn’t pay any taxes for 10 years.”

“Now, do I know that that’s true? Well, I’m not certain,” Sen. Reid told the Huffington Post. “But obviously he can’t release those tax returns. How would it look?”

While Sen. Reid offers no further information in the report about the claim and the Bain investor who called it in, the Nevada Senator waxes poetic about Romney’s late father George, who in the 1960s was the first presidential candidate to release extensive information on his personal finances. Sen. Reid told the Huffington Post that the late Romney “must be so embarrassed about his son.”

The Huffington Post report comes the same day as the release of the latest Obama campaign video attacking Romney for not releasing additional tax returns. 

In response to the loose accusations released by Sen. Reid, Romney campaign adviser Kevin Madden told the Huffington Post that the governor has “gone above and beyond the disclosure requirements by releasing two years of personal tax returns in addition to the hundreds of pages of personal financial disclosure documents he has provided to the FEC and made public.”

Madden went on to cite the references made by Sen. Reid in regards to George Romney, as “troubling and disappointing.”

“We have many substantive disagreements with the senator and his policies, but using insults about a father-son relationship is a step too far,” Madden went on to say.

The Washington Post notes that Romney has previously denied rumors that he hasn’t paid taxes in a single year, and recently told ABC News that he couldn’t recall if there were years when he paid below the 13.9 percent tax rate that he paid in 2010.

Writing on ABCNews.com, Sunlen Miller describes Sen. Reid’s speculation as “a totally unsubstantiated rumor.” Maggie Haberman of POLITICO writes that Sen. Reid “used a T-shirt gun of unsubstantiated claims” in the Huffington Post story.

      Everyone always said Reid was a moron. I know the IRS are mindless drones but they are drones controlled by the Dems and they would have sent them after Romney if there was ever a question, or a question of the foreign accounts. I trust Romney so much more than any in the Democrat leadership.

      I am also proud of him today coming out with the ad promoting his resume, even quoting Bill Clinton touting Romney’s stellar experience.       I‘ve been told by male interns in Reid’s office that they have witnessed Senator Reid having sex with young boys and beating his wife. This activity has gone on for at least 10 years.

      Absolutely. Obama‘s campaign manager says that because Romney can’t prove that he hasn’t committed crimes, it is possible that he committed crimes. Reid says that someone told him that Romney didn’t pay taxes for 10 yrs. When Reid and Pelosi were asked for their tax returns they said no because “[they're] not running for president].” Huh? Harry Reid may be LDS in name, but he is an evil, vile human being who thrives on situational ethics. Obama’s groupies have become so desperate because he literally cannot show a single accomplishment except the one thing nobody wants-Obamacare! Nearly all of his ads are negative, mocking Romney while he sings “Oh Beautiful for Spacious Skies”. What in the world is ANYONE who supports Obama thinking? What has he accomplished short of dividing the nation along lines of race, religion, sexual orientation, or any other diversity? Obama has already shown that he is willing to break, deviate from law as well as scoffing at the system of checks and balances that protect this nation from the rule of a dictator. Since we are talking about change, how about the labor participation rate, home values, home sales, fuel prices, average household wealth, the “actual” rate of inflation, the comparative value of an average 401K since 2008, and on, and on. Your false belief in the DJIA, and the DJIA only, betray your greater inability to be objective or exhaustive when formulating your analysis.

      What a crazy accusation! This is like saying President Obama wasn’t born in this country after seeing the comtempory birth announcements pulled from the microfiche of two different newspapers AND seeing the birth certificate issued by the state. This is like Michelle Bachman claiming that an administration member is a Muslim Brotherhood mole based on the fact that her father, dead 20 years, MAY have known someone who MAY have known someone who MIGHT have been sympathetic to the Muslim Brotherhood. It’s ridiculous! This kind of thing has no place in politics!

      But of course President Obama finally requested that the State of Hawaii release his birth certificate, which they did.

      There is a very simple way to put this to rest. There’s no reason for Romney not to release his tax returns. Where’s the birth certificate? I mean tax returns? Why wouldn’t he show them? All he has to do is release them right to show that Reed is lying. Why not? Why wouldn’t he? Past presidential candidates for the last sixty years have, just like his father did when he ran and who explained that a year or two might be a fluke and then released twelve year’s worth. So why wouldn’t Romney?

      Romney want Mexicans to “show their papers” so why won’t Romney? What is he hiding?

      Could Reed be right??? Otherwise, why not just release them and prove him wrong?

I guess the guy was even taping it, but since they won’t come forward with the video, you’ll have to believe it based on this 3rd person hearsay. He didn’t elaborate any further but to explain that he was also calling racist names to small children and repeating: “Long live Lucifer”, to the bells of a Christmas song. I can only surmise that this guy, who heard it through a conversation on the previous bus could only be true.

      The Communist Party (Democratic Party) is really starting to push this talking point that “Romney is a felon on the run” and I really see this as a possible way to lead to martial law this Fall. Here’s how:

      First they said Romney is a felon for not listing his position at Bain Capital when he was at the Olympics. They pushed that issue for a week or so then let it go. Now comrade Harry Reid is going to start a new rumor that Romney is a felon on the run again, only this time it’s for tax evasion. They are going to gradually ramp up that issue in the next couple of months. Then by September or early October our “chosen people” Marxist Media will do an “investigation” of Romney and conclude that yes, he is a felon on the run as was alleged by the Bolsheviks.

      Late October Romney will be arrested for tax evasion and the presidential election canceled. People will rise up realizing a communist coup has happened and that’s when Dear Leader, comrade Obama will declare martial law.

      I sorta thought this was possible with the whole Bain felon comments, but now I’m getting more certain that this is where they are going with this. The Bolsheviks (Democrats) are looking to arrest their main opponent. We are living no different that people in Cuba or North Korea. If the Bolsheviks are willing to lie saying Obama is the great grandson of slave #1 in the US, they will lie about Romney being a felon. They will say and do anything to achieve their ends.

His failure to release them only makes it more and more likely that he has something to hid. As it is he paid a lower tax rate than most Americans. He only paid 13.9%. How much money has he sent off shores in an attempt to avoid paying his fair share. He claims to love the country, yet he believes its the little guys eho have to pay for it. While he cheered on the working and middle class off Vietnam, Mitt fled to France.

      @soybomb315_II Let’s see. In 2008 Romney released 15 years of tax returns while running for President. In 2012 he releases tax returns for 2010 and 2011. So,over the last 19 years, we only have 2 years (2008-2009) that have not been released. I don’t see where the 10 years is coming from.
      Also, do you honestly believe the IRS would allow someone like Mit Romney to go 10 years without paying any taxes. I might have been born in the morning, but it wasn’t yesterday morning.
      Sorry, but this issue is a dead one and is not getting any traction anywhere in the USA except the National Press Club.

      Actually you have to “Blame” the people in Nevada who continue to vote this man in. To this day, I believe that Harry Reid is one of the biggest “Blackmailers” in existence in the state of Nevada and that is why he continues to win his “Senate Seat”. There is nothing “Honest” about this man what so ever as a matter a fact, it doesn’t even seem like he is functioning on all “Cylinders” which is rather scary. He reminds me a complete “Powermonger”. Same thing goes for Nancy Pelosi. I swear when you watch the woman talk it’s as though she is being controlled by a “Ventriloquist”. There is something very “Sneaky” about Harry Reid and I’m almost “Positive” this man has many “Skeletons” in his closet. I think the American People should be allowed to “Sue” a politician if they have been involved with any kind of “Scandal”. Again, these politicians have given themselves one set of “Laws” and the people of this country who pay there “Salaries” and “Taxes” live by another set of laws. I think the “American People” should be involved more with the passing of “Laws”.       My bother-in-law is an honest man. After all, he is a retired federal employee. He told me that his next door neighbor believes that he saw Reid and a young boy in a casino bathroom in Mesquite, NV. The neighbor wasn’t sure exactly what he saw but he believes it was not proper. Reid’s mother must be embarrased.

      I think the real reason the issue of Romney‘s refusal to release his tax returns won’t go away is because Romney himself has said that he will pay for his proposed massive tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans by eliminating tax loopholes.

      But which loopholes will Romney eliminate? HE REFUSES TO SAY. Which raises the obvious question: will he close the loopholes that HE uses to hide millions in foreign accounts and offshore tax shelters? Or does he only intend to eliminate deductions and credits that OTHER people use., e.g., the ones that middle-class families rely on?

      This is why Romney’s secrecy is so maddening: We have no idea if his tax plan is a shamefully self-serving one that keeps the loopholes used by millionaires like him while cutting the ones used by middle-class families, since he refuses to release his returns (even his 2010 one is incomplete) and since he refuses to say anything SPECIFIC about his tax plan.

      This seems to be his strategy: Just don’t say anything, don’t admit to anything, don’t divulge any specifics about anything–and hope that people just dislike the President enough to vote for anyone else.

      You say you “pop in” from time to time to “ask questions” and “that’s how I roll.”

      You make it clear that you stand for nothing, because you never comment on anything of substance.

      You just continually ask questions and then when questions get asked of you, you refuse to respond.

      Also, why are you continually accusing certain posters of actually being someone else? Could that be because that’s what you do?

      By how little substance you provide to any actual post, I can ascertain that you either don’t have a stance on the subject, or are afraid to express them.

      The only posts I see you respond to are either mine, or someone else’s that you disagree with. You again, only ask a question, you don’t claim your stance on the issue.

      To my knowledge Presidential candidates have never released their school records (why would they?) or utility bills, or how much their washing machine cost, or what color tile they have in their kitchen. Or their birth certificates. The old red herring trick huh? False equivalency?

      Everybody knows why Romney won’t release his tax records, as other Presidential aspirants have, including his Dad. Because they would show both that he’s paid little or no taxes for years – maybe he even got money back from the government – and they’d show how he made millions and avoided paying taxes.

      In other words, if he released his tax records, he’d for sure lose the election. You know it, I know it.

      1978; Let’s see, that would be when blacks were allowed to hold the LDS. priesthood; again. You see, when the church first started, blacks were allowed to hold the priesthood. It was not until Joseph Smith’s death that the practice of exclusion began. Why? It boils down to the fact that allowing the black people to hold the priesthood flew in the face of the paternalism and religious distortion that had developed to justify the plantation system in the south. The LDS church already faced immense persecution for its’ abolitionist stance. The exclusion of the blacks began in order to relieve pressure put on the church by the bigoted U.S. citizens of the day. The continuation of the practice was at first a measure against drawing the fragile territory into the civil war. It was continued after Utah’s statehood in order to minimize attacks on the fledgling church from a populace that was largely hostile to those of African descent. You see, the church has suffered greatly as a result of attacks from gutter-sniping hate-mongers like yourself. It has taken extraordinary work to insure its’ survival. It is also important to note that while the LDS church did deny priesthood ordinations to black people, it did not deny them membership in the church, nor access to the church’s resources. It is also important to note that blacks were the only group that was denied the priesthood (Asians, Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, etc.. were all allowed the priesthood). continued…

Some might question why the church would engage in such a practice to preserve itself because it would seem to suggest that the church puts its own survival above doing what is right. Actually its about priorities; it is our priority and God’s priority to make sure that the gospel is preached to as many as possible. In order to insure that would be possible, the church practiced exclusion (which is definitely not Biblically unprecedented). When society changed, the church was able to revert back to its original stance. You see, LDS doctrine holds that in general, God is a non-interventionist. God stays out of human affairs because his constant intervention would inhibit the exercise of moral agency, which is sacrosanct in our doctrine. Our agency is our greatest gift as human beings, because it allows us to be the arbiters of our own destiny. Heaven or hell are not preordained ends, but rather destinations of our own choosing. As such, agency (free-will) is sacred and inviolable, even by God. God could not and would not have forced society to change is collective intolerance in the past, nor will he in the future.Therefore, his church must be able to adapt so that truth may be taught.

Reid has not passed a budget in 3 years and is leading this country into ruin. How about the 100,000 federal employees that have not paid $1 billion in back taxes since 2009.       I think Romney should dig his heels in and release them on when he wants. He‘s a smart guy and I’m sure he’s weighed the pros and cons of releasing them now or waiting until later and coincide the release with his VP pick. Either way they’re going to pour over all the information contained in his tax returns, so why give them months of enjoyment to pick, distort and lie?

      He‘s obviously passed muster with the IRS and the only thing that could hurt him is politically problematic crap that the left would use to continue the narrative that he’s a rapacious CAPITALIST. I‘m pretty sure he’s no criminal…

      Romney should release those records required by law. Check.
      Then release the rest when Obama releases his financial aid records and an unopened (still sealed in the envelope) birth certificate that is mailed to an accounting firm, or let the FBI and Joe Arpaio go to Hawaii and look at the original and test it at the FBI lab.

      ► Punahou School financial aid or school records — not released

      ► Columbia senior thesis — not released
      ► Harvard Law School records — not released
