Remember in November: 9/12 Marchers Gather Across the Country

In St. Louis, the large crowd today gathered under the famed Gateway Arch.  In Washington, D.C., the U.S. Capitol served as a familiar backdrop for this year’s 9/12 March on Washington.  And in a state all-too familiar with big government, high taxes and mounting debt, protestors gathered in Sacramento, Calif. to make their voices heard.

Though St. Louis and Sacramento boasted more ideal weather, a late-summer rainy day in the nation‘s capital didn’t dampen the spirits of tens of thousands of marchers.  As far as I could tell, rally-goers were just as energized about lower taxes and smaller government today as they were one year ago.  Though some things have changed since last year’s 9/12 taxpayer march — including the passage of President Obama’s landmark health care overhaul — the proximity of the upcoming midterm elections had the crowd fired up as they pledged to “remember in November.”

Unlike August 28′s “Restoring Honor” rally which drew hundreds of thousands, the 9/12 march is centered on political debates which are threatening Demorats’ majorities on Capitol Hill.  Here in Washington, the crowds welcomed some conservative politicians, including Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., and Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.  Pence took the microphone and proclaimed his commitment to repealing the Obama health care law as a Republican leader and urged voters to “give [Democrats] a November they’ll never forget!”

Cuccinelli, who has recently gained national attention for his state‘s legal challenges to the health care law’s mandates, pledged to continue working to keep the federal government confined to the constraints of the U.S. Constitution.

FreedomWorks, the organization sponsoring the rally, was represented on stage by its president and CEO Matt Kibbe and former House Majority Leader Dick Armey who serves as the group’s chairman.  Conservative blogger and media magnate Andrew Breitbart condemned a liberal media bias and received resounding applause for observing how the media’s irresponsibility has empowered individual citizens to take the initiative.

But lawmakers shouldn‘t think they’re out of the woods of public scrutiny after the November elections.  RedState’s Erick Erickson stressed the importance of holding all politicians accountable, both Democrats and Republicans.

The rally wasn’t all politics.  On the policy side, Ohio coal miners and their families were in attendance to voice their sincere opposition to Democrats’ so-called “cap and trade” environmental policy.   The miners characterized the proposed policy as a punishment for honest hard-working men and women and decried cap and trade as an “assault on the American way of life.”

As the rally disperses, these energized voters are now tasked with taking their smaller government/lower taxes message back to their local communities to encourage voter turn-out on November 2.  If the tea party movement can continue this kind of momentum into November, there will be real change coming to Washington in January.

    wish i could have done the 9/12, but tapped out after 8/28! now THAT was something i am glad i didnt miss!

      Remember their play book.. and do likewise only use logic and common sense they are paid to try to NUDGE everyone to their way of thinking.. I like to see both sides an argument and go to their websites on occasion and leave comments.. mine however are just full of logic and common sense which confuses them.. come November we will show them that they can Mock, name call etc and it means NOTHING compared to the TRUTH..

      I try to read from a variety of sites. I have to say all have bad posters but this new site has the most name-calling and least reference links to back up arguments I have seen. Maybe it will evolve.

    Our great country was founded by and for the citizens of the thirteen colonies. It was designed to insure that a central governent was controlled and limited by representatives of those citizens. It was given a limited amount of power, with many checks and balances, to secure the rights and freedoms for its citizens. They were making sure that an American Government would and could not become as Britian had. England enacted laws and taxes on their American subjects, but without allowing the colonies a say in their government. Ignoring the will of the people of America, they bullied and took away what limited rights they had and tried to force them to comply. Sound familiar? Yes, we don’t have to look far across the Atlantic at a despotic leader, we have only to look at the Oval Office in Washington, D. C. and to those whom we had entrusted the liberties of the people and the country. Our representatives, Senate and the House, are there to represent the will of the people. Instead, they have consistently lied to the constituents, both during campaigns and when in office. They have consistently rob the American people, not only of their money, but also by stealing their liberties, little by little. The incumbent office holders allow themselves to be above the law, they allow themselves to steal by back-room corrupt deals and the like. They ignore the very people who put them in office, they even resort to passing laws, under cover of darkness. They hide laws and corrupt deals in the midst of thousand of pages of laws. This has always been a trick of unethical lawyers. Their mindset is to bog down any opposition by inudating them with mountains of paperwork. Then, they laugh and call the people stupid and ignorant, or worse! No doubt, I could go on and on. Their lack of character, morals and ethics makes them unfit to be employed anywhere, let alone entrusted with the security, freedom, and economic growth of this great country. They have taken your freedom to worship, especially targeting Christianity. They have tried to rewrite the American history, to further their agendas, just like the Moslems continue to do with Israel.

    Soon after deciding what sort of Government America was to become, that very question was asked of Benjamin Franklin. In reply Franklin said, “A Republic….if we can keep it”. This is a question that should be upon the lips of all true American patriots. If we can’t or more correctly, if we won’t, then we don’t deserve it. The choice is up to us, the American people, and the answer should be and must be yes we will!

    You’re probably asking how do we insure that we will keep this nation a free Republic. Oh, we voted for only those who promised no more taxes, no more spending, etc., etc. Of course they all were proven to be liars again (or should I have said they were just not quite forthcoming or perhaps they were a little disingenuious?). Then we did the “best of the two evils” choice. This was no different than the “Magician’s Choice” trick! We now know that there is no difference between Republicans and the Democrats when it comes to which is telling the truth. Neither has the best interest of America at heart, probably not even in mind! Their goal is simply to acquire power, money, more power and more money while doing and saying anything to remain in office.

    So what is the answer? They don’t listen when the people, overwhelmingly, protest and tries to voice their opposition. So the American people need to get their UNDIVIDED attention. How? WE THE PEOPLE, must vote any and all incumbents out of office. It doesn’t matter if they are better than most. If they haven’t been part of the solution, then they are part of the problem. THEY MUST KNOW AND WE MUST LET THEM KNOW THAT GOVERNMENT WILL NO LONGER BE RUN BY ROUGUE LAWYERS AND OPPORTUNISTS, PROGRESSIVES (AKA SOCIALISTS), ETC. THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN MODERN-DAY CARPETBAGGERS OR WANNA-BE DICTATORS. THEY MUST BE EDUCATED TO THE FACT THAT THEY WILL BE VOTED OUT AGAIN AND AGAIN, UNTIL THEY LEARN THAT OUR REPRESENTATIVES ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO RUN THEIR OWN VERISON OF CRIME, INC.
    AND THOSE THAT ARE ELECTED TO OFFICE, BUT CONTINUE TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THEIR OWN BENEFIT WILL SOON LEARN THEY WILL HAVE ONLY ONE TERM IN OFFICE.

    We, the people, need to lobby our newly elected representatives to enact new laws to insure ALL our freedoms, our security, etc. Enact laws that ethical or criminal behavior of representatives will be prosecuted swiftly and severly, with no possibility of any pardon…not by a state Governor nor by a President! Enact laws or amendments to limit a President to one term only, ensuring that any damage to our country will not be as damaging as is obvious with this Government. Further limit the terms of our Representatives, both in the Senate and the House. Imperative to limit the term of all Supreme Court Justices to no more than an eight year term and make an amendment that the justices can no longer re-interpret the Constitution, but uphold the laws as it was written and intended by the original framers.

    So, the bottom line is this: unless the American people get the undivided attention of those in government…when you and your family members are homeless and hungry or at the very least jobless…remember, you have only yourselves to blame.

    THE ONLY WAY TO INSURE THAT YOUR FUTURE REPRESENTATIVES WILL LISTEN TO ITS CONSTITUENTS IS VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS!!! FROM THAT POINT ON, EACH REPRESENTATIVE MUST KNOW WE WILL VOTE THEM OUT AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL WE HAVE RESPONSIBLE REPRESENTATIVES THAT UNDERSTAND THEY ARE THERE FOR THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

    It’s time for the People to wake up… I realize that would mean put a little effort into finding real news (do work in other words). Look up Oligarchy. Watch the documentary The Secret of OZ. As long as the Democrats and Republicans keep playing into the powers at be (elitists, bankers, etc) they will forever be too busy bickering to see the real picture, and divided equally enough to never unite against the real enemy. Distraction is a powerful thing. Eventually, you would think the average person would realize elections are all B.S. to keep them going another 4 years. Both parties are two sides to the same globalist coin at this point. No matter which candidate wins, you lose, and they win! Make no mistake, the Civil War, Revolutionary War, and going back throughout history it has always boiled down to the same thing. A few people think they are better than everyone else and think they need to enslave/rob the rest, or generally show them the way. In one way they are right. We are all not the same, but it isn’t our family name, race, religion, or country club that makes us elite. It’s our intelligence, morals, work ethic, and general character that determine that. I beg them to wake up now because even the false America we were taught as a kid is going bye-bye as you read this.

    November can’t get here soon enough. It will definitely be ugly for the dumbocrats, but that’s only the first step in undoing all of the damage the Obama, Reid, Pelosi regime has done. The intensity has to last until 2012 and beyond.     Awesome article! Nice to have real journalism, all the other sites can say is it “was not as big as last year”. Duh- many like myself went to 8/28 and since we have lives and jobs and aren’t professional protesters, couldn’t afford to do it again. But from what I can see it was still a good turnout.

    I was at the St Louis rally. What a great gathering of Americans who simply want their Country back. Much to the dismay of liberals and NAACP, not one racist remark, shirt, sign or anything else. In fact there were three excellent speakers at the rally who happened to be black. Wake up people…not everyone who disagrees with Obama and his cronies is a racist. We just don’t like the direction they have taken our Country.

      I’ve been reading this blog for about a week now and what is most surprising to me is this Dingle Berry person… Does he/she have a job? He/she makes angry comments on EVERY FREAKING ITEM. Leads me to the logical conclusion that he/she is either paid by the unions or the administration, etc. to simply agitate – which is sad – or he/she has absolutely nothing else at all going on in his/her life to the point that he/she spends all his/her time and days being pissed. I see no intelligent debate… just angry spewage. It is rather sad, actually. Poor baby.

      Hey don’t be so hard on Dingle.. I travel over to the Huffington and other left leaning boards now and again and have a laugh.. However unlike Dingle I have a life and don’t spend my time waiting for someone to reply.. Hey I am learning form the COMMUNITY organizers sidekicks.. and we have to infiltrate to gently NUDGE them I have gotten several responses from those on the boards that actually ask how I went form being a Dem to leaving the party far behind.. you would be surprised at how many people are Dems cause the Dems have used fear tactics over the years about the Republicans .. many Dems want to leave however have been made to beleive the world would end if they did..

      Let me ask you this, Danglingbags. How many times have Tea Party Members been arrested at their rallies? How many times have Tea Party Members staked out on the lawn of a private homes? How many times have the Police been called to prevent violence from Tea Party Members?

      Now, ask the same questions about Union rallies?

      When you can name more than a handful of incidents, then you can call the Tea Party Members angry. Otherwise, you are simply stating a flawed opinion and lose this debate.

      WRONG on the crowd being a ‘old’ group … at least a third were middle to younger aged … in fact several commented upon this fact. The National Anthem was sung (and very, very well) by a High School student …. two of the speakers who were immigrants were in their mid-thirties … and being ‘reformed’ or born again Americans these two were highly protective of their Americanism …. so the msg to you, ‘not old, not clinging to their guns, nor bibles’ but coming for YOU …. in a neighborhood very near.
