Rep. Allen West Formally Calls on CBC to Condemn Rep. Carson‘s ’Hate-Filled Comments’ or He May Quit Caucus

The hateful rhetoric of Democratic Indiana Rep. Andre Carson, as first reported by The Blaze Tuesday, is gaining increasing national traction.
Republican Congressman Allen West, who Wednesday morning indicated he was considering quitting the Congressional Black Caucus over the remarks, is now formally calling on the caucus to condemn the remarks.
The Blaze exclusive report on Tuesday morning revealed Carson’s comments: “Some of them in Congress right now…of this Tea Party movement would love to see you and me hanging on a tree.”
Appearing on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning, Rep. West, who is also a member of the Tea Party Caucus, said he might drop out of the CBC. He cited Rep. Carson’s remarks about “lynching,” and also the statement by Rep. Maxine Waters that “Tea Party can go straight to hell.”
West said he thinks the caucus is not in tune with the true problems of the black community.
Rep. West has now sent a formal letter to CBC Chairman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver asking the body to condemn the hateful remarks directed to the Tea Party or he may resign his membership in the caucus.
“As Chairman of the CBC, I believe it is incumbent on you to both condemn these types of hate-filled comments, and to disassociate the Congressional Black Caucus from these types of remarks. Otherwise, I will have to seriously reconsider my membership within the organization,” West wrote.
“Congressman Carson’s desire to generally criticize a large grass-roots group as racist is baseless and desperate. When individuals believe they are defeated in a political disagreement, they normally resort to race-baiting, which in my opinion is in itself racist.”
Roll Call is reporting, however, that Rep. West’s call for political justice will go unnoticed.
“House Democratic leaders have no plans to reprimand Congressional Black Caucus members who used anti-tea-party rhetoric at town halls and job fairs over the August recess.
‘The CBC events across the country have helped shape the jobs debate in Washington,’ a senior Democratic aide said. ‘They have gathered unprecedented local and national coverage and have shown that House Democrats are listening to the No. 1 concern of the American people: job creation.’”
Since when does portraying your political opponents as a lynch mob create jobs?

Yes CBC will continue racial rhetoric as they ALWAYS have.
Yes CBC will call Allen “Uncle Tom”, a compliment I thought.
No, Allen West will not quit.
In his letter he no where states he WILL quit, he states he will give it great consideration. I hope he does quit and calls for the CBC to be dissolved but I don’t believe he has the leadership in him to do so. Guess time will tell.

He is a no-nonsense type of guy and I do not believe he would make a statement if he did not have any plans on following through on it. He does not take any BS nor does he dish it out. I wish he would run for President – I would vote for him in a heart beat!!! And I believe he has more than enough in him to follow through on anything and everything that he says. I have total respect for him and his political views!!!

I’m a firm believer in saying what you mean and meaning what you say. If one says their for small government, I expect one to vote for small government. If one says their for less spending and cutting, I expect one to vote accordingly.
If Allen West is a “no-nonsense kind of guy who follows thru on his statements” why did he join a caucus that sees color first if he openly says he believes as Martin Luther King Jr. and is colorblind?
He says he is for limited Government but votes Patriot Act
He says he was for less spending and then votes for more spending and raising the debt limit.
He says he is for defunding Obamacare but votes against partially doing so.
Here is the kicker, if you listen to why West says he voted for the debt ceiling, it was a start at curbing spending and a good start at chipping away at spending, then listen to why he voted No against partially defunding Obamacare, slowly chipping away is not a stragedy for victory, they contradict each other totally.
I like West’s bluntness but his actions do not match his rhetoric. I could not support West for President. I also do not believe he will leave the CBC for speaking racial rhetoric, they always have and their existence in itself is racist. Guess we will see……

I think Allen West joined the CBC to allow this very type of confrontation to develop. Surely anyone with political savvy would have seen this coming. The CBC is racist and completely progressive. Maybe with this type of exposure from West, they can better be shown in a true light. The exposure wouldn’t carry as much weight coming from anyone but a member of the CBC….

Is that not equivalent to saying we must join the progressive party to expose the progressive party or we must join evil to expose evil?
The CBC isn’t secretive about their rhetoric, plans, or that they see race first. So Allen won’t expose anything the CBC exposes themselves.
Allen West could counter every comment from the CBC without being a part of it and would actually demonstrate leadership by not joining and openly questioning why the CBC is race based and sees color opposite of MLK’s dream.
There is no reason or excuse to join a race based caucus unless one sees race first. Joining is supporting. Not joining is opposition. West supported and joined. That is fact whether we like it or not. West didn’t join the TEA Party caucus though..Hmmmmmm…….

It is a positive thing that Americans of ALL skin tones have been awakened to the mechanisms of racism in the black community…and the reality of black politicians promoting, no, trying to REVIVE racist sentiments on all sides. The election of a black president has eroded their political power, instead of enhancing it.
They are desperately off balance– and still reeling from the reality of what it means for a largely white population to have elected a black President.
Allen West should not count on a “condemnation” or apology on the part of the CBC as sufficient for most of us.

Are they all like this Carson guy? & Maxine Waters, & Sheila Jackson Lee? And that hateful, piling-on Rep. Frederica Wilson of Florida. Noticed she had to jump in to get her licks in.
There are more. I’m so angry about these completely Racist blacks trying to gain traction on the backs of whites & blacks & lying to us. These BLACKS are practicing racism while they do nothing to help the blacks in their own communities; except keep them down on the farm and keep them poor & subservient. That way “they, your own” can control you. Like Hitler controlled his people.
Let’s get real folks. These are lies by people making laws for our government. Are we going to sit back and take this or are we going to realize how un-Godly their actions are and FIRE them?

Posted on August 31, 2011 at 10:32pmI agree with you 100%, something should be done about the racial division in The United States. But nothing ever will be done.
The issue of racism is an emotional one, logic and reason are seldom used. When someone like Carson can just say something like this and fire up struggling blacks and give them someone to blame emotion takes over. It doesn’t matter that none of it is true, people feel angry and this gives them a target, someone to blame. The belief system of racism will only allow examples and incidents that reinforce itself, nothing else can get in. This belief system works for all races. Whites who hate all blacks will always “feel” that way. Blacks who think all whites and society are racists will always “feel” that way.
Unfortunately it will take more than an Allen West to create racial harmony. There will be a tremendous struggle first, hatred this white hot will never listen to reason and there will be civil unrest. Especially considering that a lot of social programs will have to be cut soon and deep. That is the whole point of the CBC “you try to cut our programs you racists, there will be trouble”. Well their programs will be cut and there will be trouble, soon.

Posted on August 31, 2011 at 10:49pmThis is not so much about hate speech as it is about inciting to riot. And that is exactly what is going on.
The language that we are hearing from the so-called “black leaders” is not the usual Sharpto/Jackson/assorted fools rhetoric about injustice and victimization and institutionalized discrimination. This is getting pretty ugly.
We have a little rash of black flash mobs in a couple major cities, and what seems to be a pattern of incidents that escalate to the closing down of beaches and water parks– and the instigators are black.
Muslims seem to also be ratcheting it up a little, as a group that allegedly has ties/financing from the Muslim Brotherhood starts a big scene (50 police cars, 10+ arrests) over nothing. More to come from them, just as in Europe.
Unions have become very active under the Obama thuggery administration. All sorts of union creeps and thugs bused in to areas of strife, such as Wisconsin (actually bused in by Obama’s organization), or what we saw in AZ when they passed their illegal immigrant law, with union goons arriving from other states.
This is how Obama learned to do things as a community organizer (agitator). And the uptick in these incidents, as well as the message sent by dropping the case against the New Black Panthers, is a message that the thugs received loud and clear.
Civil unrest is indeed coming to America, and Obama and other Dem leaders are bringing it. Next year will not be pretty. The Tea Party and Republicans

And I’m sure many tea party supporters (whether they like to admit it or not) voted for Obama because he really projected the image that he was different then politics as usual and that he’d CHANGE Washington. Unfortunately, Obama hasn’t stuck to any of his promises and has gone full steam ahead with his left wing (socialist) agenda. This is when many people became upset and formed the Tea Party. His honor and integrity is top notch. …I could go on and on about how he would be a great president but wait…..how can I think this when I am considered a racist. Rock On Tea Party! And Thank you Colonel/Rep. Allen West for all that you do for our freedom, you truly are a great American!

Posted on August 31, 2011 at 8:52pmRep. West, you are an intelligent and honorable man. The greater distance you can put between yourself and the hate speech of the CBC the better. Resign from the CBC and be an example to all of us at this troubling time that race baiting is never acceptable and cannot be a political tool for either side.

Posted on August 31, 2011 at 8:49pmAll these cries of racism is just going to backfire on them. There was a lot of white guilt when they first started doing it – now I‘m sure it’s just BS to everyone that hears it. It’s a tactic for the weak.

Posted on August 31, 2011 at 8:49pm“House Democratic leaders have no plans to reprimand Congressional Black Caucus members who used anti-tea-party rhetoric at town halls and job fairs over the August recess.
Are you friggin kidding me? Oh, I love the part about Dems # 1 concern is jobs. Hmmm, seems to me CBC is the one holding the black man down.

Posted on August 31, 2011 at 8:50pmLt. Col. West needs to stay IN the CBC to be a thorn in their side. Every time one of their members makes an asinine comment, West can point out their ignorance, prejudice and racism. Every time I hear this man I am impressed by his intelligence and quick wit.
I wish he’d run for President. He’d get my vote in a heartbeat!
Stay strong, Lt. Col. West. We need more men like you who can shine a light into the dark crevasses of the Congressional cesspool.

You are who you associate with, right?
A leader does not join just to be a “thorn”. A leader calls for their dissolution as a caucus for seeing race first. Standing in truth is being a thorn. Joining them only discredits West and shows he accepts them even if holding disagreeing policy views.
Dissolve the Black Caucus!

Posted on August 31, 2011 at 9:38pmWith the blacks calling the whites racists, I felt bad at first, then I began to realize that “it’s life, not racism” as we’ve all had ugly people saying hateful things, especially in grade school and others who never learned to watch their insensitive language toward others, white or black.
These CBC’s are the RACISTS of yester-years. They‘re calling us RACISTS and love what they’re doing, even tho they know few whites are racists these days. We are peaceable and don’t have these same ugly thoughts they seem to spew constantly. Obviously the blacks in Congress are the TRUE RACIST of this Century. They think they are hurting us, but they are really hurting themselves.
Too many blacks have become a part of our lives and society and our friends. They don’t like it.
The black in congress think they are safe because their black communities will stick by them. They might be surprised to find many don’t like this hateful backlash and will get fired from their seats in Congress. Many blacks love Jesus and know what the CBC is doing and cannot condone it. Please, know I mean all this in a loving way, these people in CBC are doing Satan’s job.
