Rep. Allen West Tells ‘Koran-Wielding‘ CAIR Executive Not to ’Blow Sunshine up My Butt’

At a townhall meeting hosted by Congressman Allen West on Monday evening in Pompano Beach, the Q&A segment of the meeting featured a Koran wielding Nezar Hamze, Executive Director of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Hamze confronted Congressman West and asked him to point out where in the Koran does it give marching orders to Muslims “to carry out attacks against Americans and innocent people”. West quickly pointed out that the Koran was written long before America even existed and that it does indeed tell believers to kill infidels, and then proceeded to chronicle a lengthy list of historical Muslim acts of aggression.

Cream rises to the top, and leaders rise when their feet are put to the fire. Hamzi actually asked a tough question, tried to interrupt West a few times when the answer wasn’t going his way, and then came back with a highly manipulative follow-up.
People like Romney and others would have conceded ground, trying to be polite. But West fired back with a 50 caliber machine gun despite the crowd’s hooping and hollering – another distraction – and cut Hamzi in two.
Hamzi is no slouch. That’s why he is a spokesperson for CAIR. His job was to take out West. Instead he got a stone to his forehead.

Upon hearing that a few of his men had been captured he went into the interrogation room where they were holding a terrorist that they had caught during the skirmish. He asked this man where they were taking his men. The fella played stupid. Col. West took out his gun and fired it between the fellas legs missing him intentionally. He then said, “ the next shot will not miss”. The man gave him the information and they were able to rescue his men. Of course the liberals bashed him and he resigned. He’s back!!

I do have to say, though, that Mr. West did not answer the question posed by the CAIR Executive – which was based on the actual content of the Koran, itself, and not on how others have interpreted it, which is what I presume would be the basis on which the man would have attempted to defend the Koran. A fair point to make, worthy of discussion.
Mr. West’s point, however, about the historical abuses of those who have claimed to be Muslim, certainly raises the question of how Muslims for centuries past were able to come up with a much more violent interpretation of the Koran, than did the CAIR Executive – Is HE right, or were his forebears?
An incomplete discussion – one with unnecessary bravado. Bravado on both sides, too. Did you notice when the CAIR Executive said “You attack Islam”? I do believe that was a threat, though I could be wrong. Why would someone ever take issue with another person attacking their views, if they knew that other person didn’t believe the same things they do? You wouldn’t get upset at that, you would simply say “No, you’re wrong about that, and here’s why”.
THAT’s why I took his comment about attacking Islam (with words) as a threat – because when he could have said that Mr. West was wrong about the facts, the CAIR Executive instead took issue with the fact that Islam was being attacked. But since that‘s what anyone does if they don’t believe what you believe, then attacking Islam as a worldview would be seen by anyone else as normal – but not typically so with Muslims, which is very curious, to say the least.

Well, he corrected himself when he said “or where does it say to kill innocent people” (paraphrase). I‘m sure he knows that it doesn’t actually say “America” in the Koran – that wasn’t his point.
In fact, he seems to be saying that from his perspective, American citizens are, by and large, innocent, and that he doesn’t believe the Koran to be saying that Muslims should kill Americans, indiscriminately. When he associated “Americans” with “innocent”, that’s how I took it.
So no, the man‘s question didn’t get answered.
Whether he actually believes the Koran to be saying something different than what Mr. West has come up with, is another matter.

If Obama was interested in the truth, West would be a great advisor on Muslim relations. I liked him the first time I heard about him while he was running for Congress and I do have my eye on him as someone I possibly could support for higher office. I am not sure how ingrained in the establishment he is, but worth keeping an eye on for sure.

Did you know that CAIR has a “Right wing hit list”? Glenn beck was at the top of that list a few years ago while at CNN, CAIR flew in their executives to meet with CNN hanchos to complain about Beck repeatedly until he lost his chair there. They did not like the truth that Glenn was sharing with the American people that CAIR is just a front for Hamas and should not be a powerful lobby in Washington because as they are a “Non profit” they do not need to disclose where their funds come from and FBI investigations have revealed that terrorists sponsor the group. CAIR’s main and number one goal is to “wage grand Jihad on America from within” and they will not stop until Shariah law is the law of our land. Bill O and Hannity, and I’m sure Beck again, are currently on this hit list.

While the historical accounts were useful, that was not the question.
The question was “Where does it say to kill innocents”, and Col. West did not reference the Koran.
“Your attempt to slant it to be anything else is the biggest problem with dealing with this issue today. It doesn’t matter if it says “don’t eat purple turtles“ if the members of the religion read that as go kill the ”infidel of the day” in the name of Allah…. Don’t you get that? It’s THEIR actions that prove the case, not some mental masturbation exercise…”
Actually, the biggest problem in dealing with this issue today, as has been for decades, has been the lack of commitment to intellectual rigor, in general. Bravado is not an argument, and you cannot hope to convince someone of the error of their ways if you can’t bring yourself to try to understand where they are coming from so as to be able to take them from where they are to where they ought to be.
That’s assuming they are willing to argue with you, which is how this CAIR member at least was presenting himself; as an intellectually honest defender of the Koran.
Presumably, the reason we all disagree with Islam is based on sound reasoning. So how come it’s only “mental masturbation” when someone wants US to understand THEM?
Don’t get me wrong, I believe Islam is ideologically bent toward violence and oppression. But you’re not convincing the people that need to be convinced, when you use bravado; and, as is especially the case with delusioned Muslims, but also by just about anybody else, they know that bravado is not an argument.
While it may be the case that the history of Islam shows that the Koran very much CAN be interpreted to require oppression and death, the history of Islam, by itself, says nothing about whether the Koran actually commands as much. Which is what the CAIR Executive’s position seemed to be.
For example – and I realize this argument isn’t going to amount to much for some – the Bible gets misquoted, taken out of context, or interpreted from an improper paradigm, all the time. And while I am convinced that Islam requires oppression and violence, I am sympathetic to an honest objection on the grounds that just because those who claim to belong to a certain group have been oppressive and violent, that doesn’t mean that the writings of the group condone those actions.
I love the facts Col. West presented, and his belief that America’s belief in individual liberty makes it exceptional; But he lost the CAIR Executive’s ear at that meeting, assuming the Executive actually believed that the Koran does not say to attack non-Muslims just because they are non-Muslims, or refuse to adhere to Islam.
