Rep. Clyburn Targets Christians Who Support GOP Medicare Plan: ‘Immoral’ and ‘Un-American’

Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) has a bone to pick with Republicans who claim allegiance to Christianity, yet support the GOP Medicare plan. In an appearance on MSNBC yesterday, the congressman believes that these individuals are acting contrary to Christian doctrine, as they continue to make life more difficult for the poor and those in need. He said:

“I always find it very interesting that people talk all about their from Christianity and all these other religions that teach love. All that teach taking care of the poor. All of which talk about doing for the least of these. Yet, they continue to heap burden upon burden upon people who can stand it the least.”

Click to watch Clyburn’s comments for yourself:

Rep. Clyburn Targets Christians Who Support GOP Medicare Plan: Immoral and Un American

Last week The Blaze covered Mark Shields’ statement that low taxes are also un-American. Apparently, disagreement with Democratic policies is now the litmus test for being opposed to the American way of life. Who knew?

I guess that good ‘christian’ clyburn just missed this part of the bible…

    2 Thessalonians 3:10

For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “If a man will not work, he shall not eat.”

clyburn is a typical liberal hypocrite.

We had 3 and 4 generations of people who were all on welfare at the same time. Is this the road that you want to send people on? This week the local tv station had a story about rat infestations outside and actually inside of some government housing buildings. They showed the rats, they showed the people who were complaining about the Housing authority not doing anything about it, but they didn’t show one person who said that they did anything themselves. If I lived in apartment that had rats I would complain to the Housing Authority but I would also do something myself instead of just sitting there and waiting for someone to do it for me. I don’t think that it even occurred to them to do anything themselves.

Clayburn is a race baiting punk and pimp. He is a disgusting piece of slime.

I ask where does it say it the Bible for the protocol and responsibility of Caesar’s government to collect taxes for the social welfare of the poor. Or for that matter to collect taxes for free healthcare, education, food-stamps, freedom of expression within “art”, research on the matting aspects of kangaroos, et al.
On the contrary the Bible and most other religions point out personal responsibility of INDIVIDUALS to make such a decisions for themselves. Rep. Clyburn does not have faith in his own constituents to make the bold steps for assisting their neighbors in need. But he sure can make such a decision for them, for the betterment of man of course.

Through my Christian upbringing and beliefs I help people in my community on a regular basis, without the government telling me to!
It is immoral and criminal for anyone to demand that I take my hard earned money and give it to the person of their choice.
Until we elect people who strongly agree that “It’s My Money Not The Governments” things will not change in this country!
The entitlement mentality must be crushed if we are ever to move forward as a free country.

Christian charity has always, let me be clear, ALWAYS had a history of taking care of those could not take care of themselves. If they want separation of church and state they are going to have to leave our Christian faith out of their heathen speeches.

What, if anything, is Mr. Whiteyburn doing on his own to help these so-called “burdened people?” Does Mr. Whiteyburn belong to a church and is that church helping thse “burdened people?” It doesn’t sound like either scenario to me, as Mr. Whiteyburn has no clue what the Bible teaches.

He does hava a point, Christians should and do help people that need it. The point that most folks (msm and our glorious polatician) don’t say, is that the govt sucks at running everything they touch, and that our charity orgs. do a much better job of it. If the govt. would get out of the way and let charity and our church’s handle things (for the poor), we wouldn’t have this big problem. Not sure about the percentage’s, but if i were to take a guess, i would say that a larger percentage of money makes it to the needy via charity and church’s than any govt. can deliver. Unfortunately, this is also preached in many “Christian” churches — & too many believe that God wants them to be poor – rich is evil – which is a lie. (Scirptures say it is only the “LOVE” of money and using it for evil endeavors, etc. that is evil. It also can be used for blessing others as God wants to do also). And then adding to that, they teach “social justice” – which is evil also and not scriptural. The key word is “VOLUNTARY” – giving willingly to the poor — not for the Govn‘t to take what you don’t want to give (stealing) and then giving it to who they want to. The Dems are capitalizing and promoting this of course for their own agenda and more power. It’s all beyond evil. Please pray that “well meaning” people who are deceived wake up and see the truth & stop voting for these people destroying our society & nation.

I thought the American way was to work hard and pay your own way. Silly me!

What really disturbs me, however, is the lack of tolerance. A tolerant man sees those who disagree with him as misled and misinformed. A reasonable man realizes that it might be he, himself, who is wrong so he’s open to discussion.

Rep. Clyburn see’s his opponents as evil and immoral, leaving no room for discourse. Intolerant and unreasonable. These are not good leadership characteristics.

It is really a laugh. This guy is full of hot air.
Members and former members of congress receive unbelieveable pension and health care coverage. Pelosi and friends flew coast to coast at a cost of millions of dollars to tax payers.
They are only at work 50% of the year.
They take ‘fact finding’ trips on our nickle.
      Entertained by lobbiests.
These people live like kings & queens and yet try to position themselves as being for the middle class.
All they do is pass regulation after regulation that ties both hands behind our economy’s back.
What a joke he and others are.

I’m getting pretty sick of the immoral left preaching to me about morality!
They are the worst liars in the world!!
That would be a good place for them to start to clean themselves up on the morality scale.
Just tell the truth for a change!!

This character is a moron of the highest order right along with Maxine Waters and others like her, who are concerned only with race and not the country as a whole.

We Christians are taught that through our acts of Charity, we do the work of Christ. He thinks that if the government forces us to do an act of charity, we are doing the work of Christ. No. If you are forced to do an act, then it is through the will of Caesar, not Jesus.

REP CLYBURN – did he ever find out which tea party patriot spat at him after obama care was signed…. remember there were hundreds of cell phones and cameras aimed at him and NOBODY claimed the $100,000 offered by Breitbart as proof of that infamous spit.

Sir you are a liar and a racist.

Cause getting rid of Medicare, Ryan’s wet dream GOP budget, will not have granny choose between food and healthcare. Just more of the conservative compassion.

It is amazing how all of these liberal wackos, that are anti-American and anti-God, the more they scream and yell and whine how everyone else is anti-American and anti-God. These people are really stupid because of lot of them go to church and pretend to act and live Godly and good when what they do would go against everything that God calls good. If they are going to live their lives living opposite of a Godly life, why don’t they quit going to church and live the life of a Godless person, when they don’t have to live a “good” life then they can do anything they want without having to act good. They can go womanizing, whoring, do drugs and all of those things that are considered having fun in this world. Oh nevermind, I just realized that they do all of these things already and still pretend to be good church goers.

And this is the same person who swore they were calling him racist names and spitting on him. Now, really, a big sum of money was offered to prove this actually happened. No takers yet, however, the place was full of cameras, newsmen, video and microphones and no one caught any such thing.
This man is a liar and troublemaker. Why doesn’t he just shut that big mouth.
