Rep. Frederica Wilson: ‘The Real Enemy is the Tea Party’

Last night at a town hall meeting in Miami sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus, the subject was supposed to be jobs, but Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (D- FL) turned it to partisan politics and told assembled job seekers:
“Let us all remember who the real enemy is… the real enemy is the Tea Party… the Tea Party holds the Congress hostage.”
Congresswoman Maxine Waters, herself known for vitriolic anti-Tea Party rhetoric, and the Reverend Jesse Jackson were also present at the town hall. The stated intent of the gathering was to hold a preview discussion of a mega jobs fair in Miami held today.
At least one citizen, an older woman, walked out of the meeting last night in disgust and told CBS 4 News:
“We expected more than this. We did not come here for politics, we came here for solutions.”

I have a few questions/comments/corrections regarding what you said:
1. What is right wing? I believe right wing means as little government as possible. Left wing means as much government as possible…which of course means the Nazis were left wing, not right
2. EVERY founding father, including any Deist believed that religion and morality were the foundation for any good government (even Ben Franklin)
3. The LEFT hates fundamentalist Christians, not the majority of Americans.

We need to double down on taking the government back. I have now understood why they have become rabid about us. I have never, in the several years we have been in existence, heard one racist comment……ever. It seemed such an out in left field comment but now I understand. We are all for people supporting themselves by the sweat of their own brow and the satisfaction of a job well done. Democrats are interested in keeping people and especially minorities under their control by keeping them ignorant, poor and angry. If the Democrat constituents were given the truth they would become knowledgeable which would give them the courage to rise above the poverty and they would know joy. Then the Democrats would be powerless and the country would prosper like no one could possibly imaging. When you replace rage and resentment with compassion and charity miracles happen.

When individual TEA associates are asked what parts of Government to reduce, there is agreement that it should be, “taken from other people’s interests, not mine” which makes it hard to identify areas such as social security, defense, medicare, military benefits, postal service, tax reform, etc.
It is factual that (overall) the TEA movement agrees that change can not, never, never-ever be done by parity tax adjustments to corporate or wealthy concerns. Perversely most TEA parties generally support adjusting taxes of the retirees, middle and poverty classes that make up the TEA party.
This evidence would seem to refute your mythical premise. Are you open to discussion?

That’s a little simplistic in my opinion. While I will be unable to give a clear definition of what is right or left wing in a mere 1500 characters, there is a lot more to it. Conservatism also contains a certain element of patriotism/believing your society or country is superior to others. Furthermore it includes the reduction of a social safety net and a strong idea of every man standing for themselves. Nazis were strict believers of a racially pure Germany which was superior to all other countries and a German super race, using lies, propaganda and religious fervor (“God with us” on the belt buckle of every Wehrmacht soldier) or simply force to subdue resistance. You will have to admit that many of these elements also have a clear in conservative circles: America, the greatest country in the world where every negative aspect is the fault of the “other” (Jews in Nazi Germany, Muslims/Mexicans/Blacks in conservatie America today). There are further parallels like the disdain for Communism and Unions. Nazis were right-wing. There are no amounts of repeating that they were, in fact, left wing that would make it true. I am in no way equating modern conservatives to the horrors Nazi Germany brought upon the world, but they are on the same political and ideological axis. Google it

Any proposed legislation that cannot stand the test of an up or down vote without the backroom agreements that take currently place should not become federal law . . . PERIOD. lacking grounds to be a federal law, it should either be a state or local law, or not at all.
The only Party that gets this, and really means it, is the Tea Party. Unless and until the Democratic and Republican parties both drop their bargaining mindset, and return to voting selfishly for their communities, we will never have truly representative government again.

What ever happened to Maxine Waters trying to help out people who her husband has business dealings with and raking in the money. Where is that head line.

unfortunately, some people you can never wake up…I gave a copy of Dale Barton’s US History in Black and White (he was a black man) and after reading it he said I’d better not pass those out in South Dallas, I’d get my a$$ kicked. He said they don’t even want to hear it. They are a minority. 60 or so members in the House. Only about 20 in the Senate. How could such a small minority STOP any bill, unless they have righteous indignation of the American people on their side?
It is a simple question. There’s no need for racist attacks, expression of patriotism, or religious invocations. The claim is that Congressmen aligned with the TEA Party stopped bills from getting through Congress. If you can’t describe the mechanism by which they accomplished that task, you need to just stop talking, because everything you say will be ridiculous.
