Rep. Issa Officially Subpoenas Atty. Gen. Holder Over ‘Fast and Furious’

House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa sent Attorney General Eric Holder a subpoena earlier today to get all relevant Operation Fast and Furious communications in an effort to determine when, exactly, Holder first learned about the ill-conceived gunrunning sting.
The subpoena requests information from 16 top Department of Justice officials as well as correspondence between DOJ and the former head of the ATF’s Arizona field office, Bill Newell.
It also requests all DOJ communications relating to the mission of murdered Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Agent Jaime Zapata, and murdered U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry.
A key issue has become whether Attorney General Eric Holder perjured himself when he told Congress on May 3rd, 2011, that he learned of Operation Fast and Furious “over the last few weeks.” As The Blaze reported earlier this month, there are internal Department of Justice memos from July of 2010 addressed to the Attorney General that describe the Fast and Furious program nine months before his testimony.
The pressure is clearly mounting on the Department of Justice to explain the decision-making process behind Operation Fast and Furious, and for a full accounting of the operation to be given to the American people. Chairman Issa’s office released a statement on the subpoena that says, according to Fox News:
“Top Justice Department officials, including Attorney General Holder, know more about Operation Fast and Furious than they have publicly acknowledged. The documents this subpoena demands will provide answers to questions that Justice officials have tried to avoid since this investigation began eight months ago. It’s time we know the whole truth.”
Attorney General Holder has told reporters that his office would “undoubtedly comply” with the subpoenas.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 1:46pmIf Holder is forced to resign over this, as it does appear his arrogance has allowed him to lie to Congress, it would be a 1st step in mitigating NoBama’s free reign… but just a small start. But what I really want to see is the rest of Congress getting behind this type of action against NoBama’s fiefdom…but the Repub congressmen are all whimps and RINOS. I see the Tea Party as a natural uprising filling the void that Congress doesn’t fill… following the laws set up by our Founders. Mitt will obviously be the Repub candidate, and he is a poster boy for RINO.

Even worse, if their objectives are to create an event that would illustrate their position of further Gun Control Regulation, that would truly be insidious!
Maybe we should extradite AG Holder to stand trial before a Mexican Magistrate who’s family was directly affected by those illegal gun shipments. Capital Punishment is still very big in Mexico, as a deterrent.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 1:27pmGood. Issa needs to stay on top of this. The events of yesterday with the “out of the blue” terror plot that was revealed by Holder should not be a distraction from the “Fast and Furious” cloud that hangs over his head. The fact that Holder himself held that news presser was odd as it was, because normally, the Pentagon would have delivered that information to the public. To those of us who are actually watching both hands and paying attention, Holder very obviously was using the surprise terror plot to redeem himself and make himself the hero of the day, in hopes of steering the attention away from his imminent subpoenas.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 12:48pmIf ever there was a time to not let up, now is it.
Holder has shrunk from rightly persuading the POTUS, who has made so many “edgy” decisions, relying on the popularly democratic “plausible deniability” and policy creation by tsars rather than legislating from Congress.
From day one, their first order of business has been the dereliction of duty.
Fire holder, impeach Obama, try them and then hang them.

Posted on October 12, 2011 at 1:00pmI agree. Obama is also. He admits it in his jobs bill proposal. He said, ” we are not going to wait for the congress, let’s just get it done” If our own President doesn’t follow the law then it will be directly related to social upheaval.
Here is an excerpt from Xenophon’s conversations of Socrates.
Socrates, “Don’t you know that the best leaders are those who are most efficient in making the people obey the laws, and that a city in which the people are most obedient to the laws has the best life in time of peace and is irresistible in war? Moreover, concord is accepted to be the greatest blessing in a State, and very commonly in a State, the Senate and the aristocracy call upon the citizens to agree….”
If Obama and Holding are above the law by overriding the law and blatantly abuse it then we will have a part of the populace that will follow their example. They have usurped the Constitution and it is on its last leg. If Obama has his way and gets re elected we will be a boat dead on the water.
