Rep. Ryan Challenges Obama to Debt Debate: Throws Down the Gauntlet Via Twitter

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) is apparently hoping for a fiscal throwdown. The Wisconsin Congressman at the vanguard of the Republican’s plans to stave off economic catastrophe has challenged President Obama to a debt crisis debate with this tweet at the recent Twitter Town Hall:

“Fearmongering won’t solve our debt crisis. Americans deserve a real debate. You pick: when and where?”

The following exchange featured on Fox News lays out the “tweet challenge” and clarifies Ryan’s position:

No word back yet from the White House on whether or not President Obama will accept Ryan’s challenge. Ryan hasn’t given up yet though, and expanded on his views to Fox News:

“I think the nation deserves a real honest debate about it’s future, about what are we going to do to grow the economy, pay off our debt, cut spending and get this deficit off our backs”Rep. Ryan Challenges Obama to Debt Debate: Throws Down the Gauntlet Via Twitter

And Obama isn’t the only politician holding a high tech forum. Last night, Rep. Ryan held his own Facebook Townhall, where he answered questions in real time about the Republican proposal to pay off the debt and cut spending.

The Blaze covered the Twitter Town Hall earlier this week, including Obama‘s reaction to a question the question ’where are the jobs?’ by House Speaker Boehner.

Obama responded that the question was ‘slightly skewed.’

How do you debate a subject on which you have no position? What is Obama’s position on the debt? What is his economic policy? It is absent. He is not a leader.

I would love to see that debate, but we know it will never happen. Obama knows he can‘t win and in his arrogance he probably believes it’s beneath the President to debate a “lowly” Congressman. I’m glad Ryan put it out there, only because the President will be asked about it and his answer will be revealing. That is, of course, if the media even brings it up.

Finally, a Republican comes out from under his desk!
Barry wont debate Ryan, he has nothing to debate about, all his plans are failures and he knows it.

I’m guessing Ryan didn’t get the memo about Barry and live appearances. All question must be received at least 48 hours in advance. His handlers have to have time to google the questions and focus group the answers, before they can be put into the Teleprompter, for Barry to read and impress any audience with his brilliance.

I doubt his ‘experts’ and Teleprompter coaches would ever allow Barry to be turned loose, he has a habit of sticking his foot in his mouth and spew forth lies. Maybe Joe can give him some pointers.

Isn’t this debate supposed to take place on a regular basis in Washington. If Ryan is sincere about a debate then have it. There is no reason for this to held in public, it is supposed to be part of how our government works. This is just a publicity ploy and anyone with brains knows that.

Obama will never publicly debate anyone with a brain. McCain, in ‘08, didn’t count – they were basically on the same side – choice was old and wrinkled or new and fresh, but the results would have been the same. Maybe worse under McCain because we may not have listened as carefully or paid so close attention.

Obama is a delusional mindless fool and knows ZERO about how an economy works. Ryan will eat his lunch and raid the refrigerator too.

All Obama knows how to do is talk about raising taxes and creating a voter base that thinks they are owed the money that rich people make. Only fools think they have the right to other people’s money. See this:

Good for you, Ryan! it’s about time the Republicans grew a pair and challenged Obama on a number of subjects, including the budget, the deficit and the EPA, among others. For far too long the Obama administration has been unchallenged in their quest to turn this country into a Third World banana republic. of course, I realize that Obama will never agree to debate any subject because he is:
    1) not smart enough to argue intelligently and
    2) is so arrogant that he thinks he doesn’t have to explain anything to anybody.

There is very little difference between Ryans and O’s plans. Neither addresses the need for smaller government or brings in real cuts that will make an ongoing difference or deal with the debt now and deficit on an ongoing basis. There is no debate to be had here.

SARANDA, it sounds like you don‘t know what you’re talking about. Number one, Ryan’s plan does cut our debt and number two, Obama doesn’t have a plan on record, so how the hell did you read it. I bet I know one plan that you read? That would be the liberal playbook, you can never debate facts because you would lose everytime with the American people, so when you can’t defend yourself with facts you lump both parties into one pot and say Oh! they all do it, or they’re all the same when it comes to this or that.

Can obama bring his teleprompter ? obama’s rules will be.#1 he picks the moderator ,someone middle of the road like Nancy Pelosi ,Dan Rather or Chris Mathews. #2 He picks the venue ,somewhere neutral like the Oval Office .obama gets his desk with presidential seal .Ryan gets a fold up card table and a bucket to sit on. #3 obama gets to review all questions prior to debate and gets to write 50% of them. #4 obama responds first and last to every question with no time limit ,Ryan gets a ten second response after obama’s first response. #5 obama has a button to cut Ryans mic. obama says that sounds fair lets do this ! Right after another round of golf.

When Ryan produces a budget that CUTS spending, I will listen. His so called cutting tracks Obama’s budget, climbing at the same rate as O’s, just from a lower starting point. We haven’t nearly thrown enough of these bums out, including the ones supposedly on our side. Not one R has mentioned cutting government, including the flavor of the day, Bachmann, so I still have no candidate to back. Conservative, you want conservative? My kids are 35 and 30 … I don’t want either one of them to have soche security or medicare. Three years into the 30 years I propose the demise of them both, the private market will have produced something unimaginable in today’s nanny state. Same for education, commerce, and on and on. Boehner and Cantor and McConnell are worse than Ovomit as far as empty bloviating suits because they are supposed to be doing something conservative — for the last how many years have they been there??? And suddenly they get religion because they are in the TEA party’s sites?? Give me a break.

Obama is scared and it’s showing ,He surrounded himslef with what he thought were his betters the the realm of academia without ever given thought to the one of the most common sense phrases ever written. Those who can do those who can’t teach. Reagan faced the same issues Obama faced when he took office and he surrounded himself with people with actual real life experience and life lesson under their belts. Obama surrounded himself with unproven economic theories. The results were a 180 from Obama’s results……hmmmm
