Report: Anti-Semitism Is ‘Disturbingly High’ In Europe

A new poll released from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Tuesday found “disturbingly high” rates of anti-Semitism in 10 European countries. The opinion survey, which took into account 5,000 adults’ views (500 in each country) on a variety of issues, found that large portions of Europe embrace “classical anti-Semitic notions.”
The ADL reports that these “notions” include a belief in the idea that Jews have too much power in the business world and are more loyal to the Israeli homeland than their own country of residence. Additionally, the poll found that many of the respondents believe that Jews speak too much about what happened during the Holocaust.
In a report called “Attitudes Toward Jews in Ten European Countries,” the results, which were collected from Jan. 2-31, are fully explained. According to the ADL, these anti-Semitic beliefs are held by nearly one-third of respondents. The countries included in the study were: Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain and the United Kingdom.
The results for the “Jews are more loyal to Israel than to this country” question can be seen, below:

Among respondents in Hungary, 73 percent answered that it is “probably true” that “Jews have too much power in the business world.” The proportion for Spain was 60 percent. While this indicator has decreased in some countries, it is up in the United Kingdom (20 percent in 2012 versus 15 percent in 2009) and has ticked up slightly in Germany (22 percent in 2012 versus 21 percent in 2009).

There were also some intriguing results when individuals were asked to weigh on on whether Jews have too much power in international financial markets. According to the findings, 75 percent of Hungarian respondents said that this is “probably true” as did 67 percent of Spaniards. The lowest proportion was in the Netherlands (17 percent).

“The survey is disturbing by the fact that anti-Semitism remains at high levels across the continent and infects many Europeans at a much higher level than we see here in the United States,” explained Abraham H. Foxman, ADL’s National Director. ”In Hungary, Spain and Poland the numbers for anti-Semitic attitudes are literally off-the-charts and demand a serious response from political, civic and religious leaders.”
The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4.43 and +/- 4.85, depending on each country. Read the entire study here.
All charts in this article come from the ADL’s ”Attitudes Toward Jews in Ten European Countries” report.

Posted on March 22, 2012 at 10:07pmI’m calling BS. The questions they show in the graphics are really vague and has NOTHING to do with anti-semitism. Anti-semitism is hating Jewish people. You can actually like Jewish people and still believe that they are both more loyal to Israel and have too much power in international finance markets. I have a aunt that is jewish. She has gone to Israel to volunteer a couple of times. I don’t think she volunteers over here in the US where she lives, but she sure is loyal to Israel. Does that mean I hate her? No, I actually like her.
This is a lot like the poverty statistics reports in the US. They define them really loosely and then can make attention grabbing headlines. This is what is going on here. The Anit-defamation league only can exist if people are hating people, so they create a report that overstates it as proof they are still needed.

Is she Russian? Of course, she’s the same ethnicity as a Polish Christian if she is a Polish Jew because they have the same ethnicity. They’re both Polish.

Ethiopian Jews and blacks from Africa are the same people because they have the same DNA. They’re both black.
A Romanian Jew and a Romanian Christian are the same person because they have the same DNA. They’re both Romanian.

Posted on March 22, 2012 at 10:44pmActually, since Jews have married internally for generations, they have distinct genetic markers that reflect that fact. Also, by that argument, there are no Germans or French because they are both genetically Western European. Or better yet, we‘re all human and have human DNA so race doesn’t exist. Most Austrians are technically German. Jews define themselves as a nation with their own culture and heritage. Race has littler to do with it.

Posted on March 23, 2012 at 11:09amTzion, let me explain…
Religious Jews HAVEN’T married internally for generations. Half the Jews in the USA are mixed. Jews are NOT an ethnicity. Being German and French, is.
By your logic, their is a Jewish Ethnicity, right? If that’s true, then are Ethiopian Jews and French Jews the same? Do they have the same DNA? No, they don’t. So being Jewish is only a religion.

If you take a Romanian Jew and a Romanian Christian, they are the same person. Why? They’re ethnicity is both Romanian. They both have the same DNA.

Posted on March 22, 2012 at 7:59pmand it is a nation defined by that covenant with G-d from Sinai more than 3300 years ago. It is a nation with multiple genetic codes, but a common belief. The world can be unified under G-d’s unchallenged rule. Ultimately Mankind will have to realize that the only covenant with G-d that matters is the one that teaches Man with reason planted firmly in its seat, Man is obliged to live by a humble code of common decency. Judaism itself is deeper than that. It contains many more laws than G-d’s laws of common decency, but only Jews are obligated in Jewish Laws (like the Sabbath and the kosher laws and shaking the 4 species during the Feast of Tabernacles). Those laws lead to the perfection of the world, the completion of the very act of Creation itself. Yet, for Mankind in general it is not Jewish law which is demanded by G-d. It is His covenant of common decency (7 basic categories of law related to decency) that He sealed with Noah after the Great Flood, but it can be derived by studying Nature and postulating Nature’s G-d. If Thomas Jefferson could figure that out, perhaps every man is obliged to figure it out too. Yet, it is that precise requirement that G-d demands decency for its own sake over everything else that has created the deepest, most universal, and longest lasting hatred in human history: Anti-Semitism Agents of evil will not stand to being obligated in the area of human decency above everything else.

Report Post »Jews born in Poland, Romania, Russia, Mozambique or on the South Pole (which I doubt is possible -:)) are Jews, if they are really Jews (meaning that their parents are Jews.)
A different story is with half-blood Jews, quarter-blood Jews etc.
Jews are of Semitic descent, just as Arabs. And the members of the Semitic group have their specific DNA. That’s why they are distinguishable Semitic group, comprendes?
That’s why those who dislike Jews are ambiguously called anti-Semites. (“ambiguously” because Arabs are also Semites.)
With your B.S. statement that “Being Jewish is just a religion,” you automatically call almost half of Israelis who are not religious, “not Jews”. Huh?

Posted on March 23, 2012 at 11:17amActually CONSTANTINE IVANOV, I have a friend that lived in Israel and he said that half the Israeli‘s AREN’T religious. They‘re secular Israeli’s.
If Jews are their own people, why aren’t they called, Jewish Jews? Instead of Russian Jews or Romanian Jews?
Also Jews did NOT come from the middle East. At least not the Ashkenazi Jewish religion. It goes against science. It’s an impossibility. Every one that came from the middle of the earth is dark. Just like the Africans. Jews that you are talking about are NOT dark. European Jews are NOT dark. It’s impossible for them to come from the middle east. Did white people all of sudden appear in the middle of the earth when there were all dark people?

Report Post »1. “Actually CONSTANTINE IVANOV, I have a friend that lived in Israel and he said that half the Israeli‘s AREN’T religious. They‘re secular Israeli’s,” you said.
It’s exactly what I said, too. And therefore, as I also said, an assertion that “being Jewish is just a religion” is nothing but B.S.
2. “If Jews are their own people, why aren’t they called, Jewish Jews? Instead of Russian Jews or Romanian Jews?” you asked.
A dummy question. I explain why: a Chinese who lives in the USA and speaks English (or even just Chinese) is called or calls him-/herself “American Chinese.”
The same with all nationalities: Russians are called American Russians, Italians ared called American Italians, etc. Except for Blacks who idiotically forced others to call them “African Americans,” which is wrong from any point of view – scientifically, ethnically or linguistically.
3. “Also Jews did NOT come from the middle East.” you said.
Wrong again: historically, all Jews came to Europe and other continentns from the land in the Middle East that was called Israel thousands years ago.
4. “At least not the Ashkenazi Jewish religion,” you again mix up ethnicity and religion.
5. “Every one that came from the middle of the earth is dark,” – what a B.S. you managed to emanate! Arabs, Persians, Turks, Kurds and many other nationalities of the Middle East are not dark. Including Jews, of course.
Are your illiterate assertions a result of the screwed

I am wondering why the ADL, as far as I know, does actually nothing to encourage Jews of all countries to tenant the Promised Land. The age-old dream of all Jews would come true, and antisemitism might then disappear, who knows…

Posted on March 22, 2012 at 7:38pmI have never commented on one article more than this, but I see anti-Semitism as the ultimate expression of pure evil. And I am fascinated by the war between good and evil. Yes, when (not if) Obuzzard is re-elected, evil in America will increase by orders of magnitude. And the 60 to 70% of spiritually ignorant Jews who voted for Obuzzard a second time within a year will not be able to tolerate the massive rise of anti-Semitism in America. But if the dollar has already crashed by that time, they may end up running away to Israel with their pajamas in a plastic bag. The guilded cage is so very difficult to leave.

Posted on March 23, 2012 at 2:05amConstantine Ivanov you raised an interesting point. Isn’t the reason why the zionists took the Palestinian lands was so that they could have a Jewish land and be safe from another holocaust? Why do these Jews continue to stay in the diaspora and then complain about anti semitism? Just go to Israel and be safe among your own people right? Alas its not that simple. Israel is reliant on Jews outside it with their heavy influence on politics, finance and the mass media to help further its ambitions.

Posted on March 22, 2012 at 5:42pmYes, but as someone else below has pointed out, the countries with the worst anti-Semitism are not the post-Christian societies like France and Great Britain with their large Muslim populations. The two of the three worst countries are the traditionally Catholic countries of Spain and Poland. Even Hungary has a majority Catholic population with very few claiming to be atheists. Neither Spain, Poland, or Hungary have a large Muslim population. So it has to be admitted as it has always been true. European Christians, albeit mostly Catholics, hate Jews. Perhaps these Christians, again mostly Catholics, do not elevate common decency as a main tenet of their faith?? Hitler’s first international treaty was the Concordat with the Roman Catholic Church. Nothing has changed.
Report Post »stealthman
Posted on March 22, 2012 at 6:04pmFrom Wikipedia: I usually refrain from quoting Wikipedia on most subjects, but on short notice, this is what is written about the Reichskonkordat of July 1933:
Most historians consider the Reichskonkordat an important step toward the international acceptance of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi regime.[20] Guenter Lewy, political scientist and author of The Catholic Church and Nazi Germany, wrote:
“There is general agreement that the Concordat increased substantially the prestige of Hitler’s regime around the world. As Cardinal Faulhaber put it in a sermon delivered in 1937: “At a time when the heads of the major nations in the world faced the new Germany with cool reserve and considerable suspicion, the Catholic Church, the greatest moral power on earth, through the Concordat expressed its confidence in the new German government. This was a deed of immeasurable significance for the reputation of the new government abroad.”
The Catholic Church was not alone in signing treaties with the Nazi regime at this point. The concordat was preceded by the Four-Power Pact Hitler had signed in June 1933.
John Cornwell reports that “millions of Catholics joined the Nazi Party, believing that it had the support of the Pope.”[6]
The Four Power Pact was actually signed about the same time as the Concordat with the Catholic Church was signed, both in July of 1933, and was not a treaty of much import. As a matter of fact the French refused to sign it.

How utterly dumb.
You’re equating the percentage of Muslims to the increase in percentage of the Muslim population.
There could only be 1% of Muslims in a country, but they could account for 100% of all anti-Semitism.
You’re wanting to blame Christians, and you have some ulterior motive behind it. So tell me a a little more about why you believe as you do, and I can read between the lines to determine who you are and why.
Whatever your reasons for trying to spin the issue, you’re not going to be able to cover it up for much longer, because these jihadist attacks are only going to get greater in number, especially in France, and we could see a like number eventually in the UK.
It was Christain soldiers who set the camps free, many of them dying in the process. It’s an insult to them and their heirs to suggest it is those same people who are now engaged in anti-semitism.
Are you a homosexual that wants to denigrate all Christians, because they refuse to accept your disgusting perversions.

Keep making excuses for the true evil ones and we won’t have to worry about peace in the middle east because their “war” will be in our front yard!!

Posted on March 22, 2012 at 3:37pmHow many Muslims are in Hungary? Spain? Stop deluding yourself. The largest Muslim populations in Europe are in France and Russia and even there they are only 10% so how do you account for the other 30%-50%?? We are so brainwashed that we have a one track mind in finding the roots of people’s beliefs. You don‘t want to listen to Ron Paul when he tells you where the Islamic motivations and justifications for what they do come from just like now you don’t want to get to the root of why Jews are being increasingly resented by indigenous white christian populations in Europe. Its much easier to place a label like ‘anti-semite‘ and ’socialist’ and assume you are better than them. Why would Hungarians hate Jews?? Most of you don’t know of Matyas Rakosi and Erno Gero, the two successive Jewish communist dictators that ruled Hungary. The Hungarian revolution was at its core an anti Jewish movement. The Hungarians were fed up of being oppressed by these communist Jews. Add to this what Israel is doing to the Palestinians and you have all the necessary ingredients for antisemitism. Is the ADL ready to get to the root cause of WHY they are hated or are they simply going to scream anti semite?? Here’s a reason for Ukrainians to hate Jews.

I’m aware of them. I read and study History. I do not rely on John Hagee and the Zionist Neo-Cons from Newsweek and FOX News to hand feed me information.
Thanks for pointing out that fact in order to help people understand.. I hate to mock and make fun of ignorant people because only 5-6 years ago I was just as ignorant as the next guy on this topic… But once you see it and you start trying to share the truth and you see the push back it’s like my goodness…. Look people the World really is round but all they do is laugh, call you ugly names and say no really it’s flat.

Report Post »Essentially you’re saying what was already obvious: that many European countries are still trapped in the antiquated, nation-state, “us and them” mentality (much like Tech here) that the Founding Fathers rejected. It’s okay to despise your oppressor and seek his demise, but it’s something else entirely though when you blame millions of other people for the actions of that small few.

Posted on March 23, 2012 at 1:54amTZION you criticize the Europeans for collectively hating the Jews but have no problems when they collectively hate Muslims. Its pretty chic to hate Muslims in the western world based on their acts of terror. Is this entirely irrational? I don’t think so. I think Muslims have to face the sad fact that too many of them participate in terrorist activities and don’t assimilate into western societies and thus will be collectively resented by many. When it comes to Jews however, we are supposed to give them a pass for everything they have done and continue to do and not collectively hate them. Why the inconsistency? You say ‘well its only a few bad Jews we shouldn’t hate them all‘ why don’t you say the same about Muslims? And what if that one bad Jew was directly responsible for the death and oppression of millions? Is the Hungarian hatred of Jews any more irrational than western societies hating Islam for terrorism? I don’t think so. Communist Jews have been directly responsible for the death and oppression of tens of millions of Christians in Europe, a 1000 times more people than the Muslim terrorists have killed. Ukranians, Hungarians, Russians, Spaniards, Germans have alot more quarrels with Jews than with Muslims.

Report Post »You’re assuming that I hate Islam and Muslims for the actions of the few. The fact is that I don’t. You’re right to say that Western hatred of all Muslims is just as rational as Hungarian hatred of all Jews. I just hold that both are equally irrational. That said, I have no qualms holding people responsible for their inaction as well as their action. Muslims who refuse to condemn the terrorist actions of their fellows are not blameless. I’ll gladly condemn the actions of any Jew I believe acted in an immoral or evil way. Why should I shoulder the burden of their actions?

That was a very good post. It‘s too bad that I sign on this morning and there’s only about 5 additional comments since i signed off last night.
This is an extremely important topic..
BTW, TZION: You speak of culture and heritage of the Jewish people is what distinguishes them.. My friend that is what a race is! Race is not merely a skin color. I believe Whites, Asians, Hispanics, Africans, Arabs, Jews all have distinct culture and heritage which defines there race… along with the pigmentation of their skin. But in essence it is culture and heritage.
You’re funny. You sometimes say some rather intelligent things but on the other hand you are so blinded by your dogma that you can’t see the forest for the trees.

I’d understand that sentiment if your brethren who own about 90% the mainstream media wouldn’t subconsciously lead the masses toward collective hatred of Muslims. If fox news and yak radio is all you watched and listened to (and most conservatives do)then collective hatred of Muslims will likely ensue. At the same time these Jews and their zionist collaborators in charge of the msm ruthlessly suppress all dissenting speech that doesn’t fit their agenda. Anti semitism is simply a taste of your own medicine that you mass produce against Muslims.

You DO understand that your entire religion is based on Judaism, right? Like, the old testament is what they and Christ believed until Christ started talking about his own philosophy.

Posted on March 22, 2012 at 12:50pmDon’t believe for a second that anti-semitism was limited to Nazi Germany. The SS and more specifically the Einsatzgruppen had no difficulty whatsoever in finding people in Poland, Romania, Lithuwania, Ukraine, Russia, Italy, France, the Netherlands and Norway to help kill Jews- no trouble at all. When the Nazi answer to the “problem”was deportation who stepped up to the plate and revised immigration policy to accept more European Jews? America? No! Roosevelt refused to allow large scale immigration of Jews and in fact we only allowed 21,000 Jews to come here- LESS THAN SWITZERLAND! The world is to blame for the holocaust. We knew the Jews needed help and we did nothing. We knew about the camps inside and outside of Germany and we did nothing. We know Iran intends to attempt the destruction of Israel and with Obama as President, we will do nothing!

In terms of why, that’s easy. Look at the jerk comment below. It’s always easier to blame someone else for your problems than to take responsibility. It’s easier to blame a group than to hold individuals responsible.

As far as Europe is concerned, my question is, have they not progressed in their thinking or learned anything from the past? I guess the World War made no difference to them. All that said, I guess it made no difference to our present administration and President as they are pushing Socialism/Communism on us and no one seems to stop them. Congress is useless and our Republic is almost gone along with our Constitution.
