Report: Bin Laden Had $740 and 2 Phone Numbers Sewn Into His Clothes

Politico has uncovered an interesting report emanating from a classified intelligence briefing on Capitol Hill yesterday: Osama bin Laden had 500 euros (about $740) sewn into his clothes along with two phone numbers:
Osama bin Laden had cash totaling 500 Euros and two telephone numbers sewn into his clothing when he was killed — sure signs that he was prepared to flee his compound at a moment’s notice — top U.S. intelligence officials told members of Congress at a classified briefing in the Capitol Tuesday. A White House spokesman said he would not comment on the matter.
Three sources who attended the briefing confirmed the details for POLITICO, and a fourth source said he had been told the same thing outside Tuesday’s meeting. A White House spokesman said he would not comment on the matter.
The revelation reportedly came after CIA director Leon Panetta was asked why he thought bin Laden wasn’t more heavily guarded. Apparently, he was more disposed to “flight” than “fight,” and officials believe he was constantly ready to flee at a moments notice.
“If American officials believe bin Laden thought he’d get tipped off before an invasion,” Politico speculates, “that may help explain reluctance on the part of the United States to tell Pakistan of the invasion before it was completed.”
