Officials say that the unsolved murder of 21-year-old Juilliard student Sarah Fox has been linked to a chain used in an Occupy Wall Street subway protest in March.

NBC New York writes:

Fox was found nude and strangled in the park in May 2004, days after she disappeared during a daytime jog. Investigators recovered her pink CD player in the woods just yards from her body.

Sources said Tuesday the DNA found on the CD player matches DNA found on a chain left by Occupy Wall Street protesters at the Beverly Road subway station in East Flatbush on March 28, 2012.

That Wednesday morning, protesters chained open emergency gates and taped up turnstiles in eight subway stations and posted fliers encouraging riders to enter for free.

A “communique” posted online later that day by the “Rank and File Initiative” described the act as a protest against service cuts, fare hikes and transit employees’ working conditions.

It was attributed to “teams of activists, many from Occupy Wall Street… with rank and file workers from the Transport Workers Union Local 100 and the Amalgamated Transit Union.”

No one was arrested in the March subway protest incidents. Police are continuing to investigate, and are now working to try to identify the source of the DNA found in common with the chain and the CD player.

Forensics expert Dr. Lawrence Koblinsky says the new link could help break the case, but officials warn that the DNA link doesn‘t necessarily mean an Occupy Wall Street protester was responsible for Fox’s murder.

“You’ve got the same DNA left at two distinct sites,” Koblinsky explained. “Until they find the individual who left that DNA, we won’t know. But the likelihood is high the person who left that DNA on the CD player is the killer of Sarah Fox.”

A leading suspect in the case, 47-year-old Dimitry Sheinman, has been living in South Africa but recently returned to New York City claiming to have had a psychic vision of the real killer.

Reports indicate that he remains a person of interest.

      They have canvassed entire towns for DNA to exclude people/suspects.

      If they canvassed that particular group of protester and/or their associates, we could get 200 samples & find the murderer.

    My wife and I lived in Inwood when this happened and I liked walking through that park, which was home to a Bald Eagle and had a beautiful salt water marsh. But even though Inwood was an “upscale” area it was a rough neighborhood and this was not the only crime that happened there. Cops had a suspect in the crime who was a strange dude who went around hassling people – he was just the kind of cat i expect tot find in OWS.Glad we got out of NY

    Hmmm. Murderous, Rapist, leaching Oduma Supporters. My memory may be failing but didnt OWS meet with other Oduma allies, either Muslim Brotherhood or Iran months back?

    The man with allies like this must be an honest, trustworthy, and respectibly moralful person.

      I doubt God will save the USA after the disrespect we have shown Him over the last few decades. True it has been driven by the vile, evil liberal filth in our midst but they only represent about 20% of the total population. That small percentage should have been crushed long ago but was not so God really has little reason to save such a country.

      As God helps those who help themselves, my plan relies on a magazine fed, shoulder fired, gas piston operated main battle rifle to eliminate the evil among us. You may recall the Battle Hymn of the Republic:

      I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:

      These words are from a time when America faced great peril at the hands of overarching evil. The passion for freedom was much greater in those days and has mostly been lost to the current generation.

There are more that a few reasons that DNA could have found its way onto the CD player and the chain. But let’s not deny another edgy, reaction provoking chance to feed the angry mob.

    All the protesters will hear of this report and in a few days the person that stops showing up is the person of interest. How safe they must all feel knowing they may be standing next to a murderer. I guess if they know many of their fellows are rapests…..what is one more murderer?

      sometimes you just have to laugh.

      remember when the Tea Party first showed its face? The MSM about pooped its pants, and scrambled to show America that the Tea Party folks were old, racist, mean, and out of touch. In reality, they were just regular hard working Americans who love the constitution, and want lower taxes. At every angle the MSM got proved wrong, and even after event, the TP policed themselves, and were peaceful and cleaned up when they left.

      As soon as the OWS group showed up, the MSM (who just months before hated the TP), compared OWS to TP, just to give the OWS validity. It just shows you what fakes the MSM is.

      Now after a year or so, the OWS folks keep destroying, murdering, raping, and the MSM just keeps its mouth shut.

    The Scary part of this story is the NYPD collecting random DNA off of objects to add to their Database. What could this possibly solve other than proving that someone was in a place at some point.

      I was thinking the same thing. I cannot stand the occupy group, but unless there was a murder or rape involved, why are they collecting DNA?? This seems very wrong.
