Report: Egyptian Prez Candidates & Political Parties Want Israel Punished

Egyptian Presidential Candidates, Parties Want Israel Punished

Just when it seems like the social and political conundrums that characterize the Middle East can’t get any more complicated, they do.

Known for its volatility, violence and oppressive leaders, the region continues to be a hotbed of unpredictable hostilities. The latest fighting between Israel and Gaza militants is the newest chapter in what seems like a never-ending battle royale. As a result of the hostilities and the subsequent deaths of five Egyptian soldiers, Egypt and Israel are beginning to feel intense diplomatic strains.

As the Egyptian people prepare the pave the way forward by creating an entirely new governmental system of rule, it’s important to explore what the political parties vying for control are proposing. This is particularly true when it comes to discussions about the nation’s future relations with Israel. CNS News writes:

…at the heart of Israeli-Arab peace efforts is the wide range of Egyptian political parties and leaders demanding that their government take a harsh line against Israel.

Joining the call are radical Salafists, Muslim Brotherhood offshoots, secular centrists, and four presidential candidates, including two who are faring well in opinion polls – former Arab League head Amr Moussa and Ayman Nour, a liberal politician on whose behalf President Bush spoke out when President Hosni Mubarak’s regime imprisoned him as a dissident in 2007.

This cross-section of the Egyptian political spectrum is now calling for tough steps against Israel, after its forces inadvertently killed five Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai peninsula while pursuing terrorists responsible for deadly attacks against Israeli civilians.

The field of those opposed to Egypt’s Middle Eastern neighbor is large enough to cause concern, especially considering the region’s fragile nature.

Egyptian Presidential Candidates, Parties Want Israel Punished

Egyptians hold their shoes up to protest the death of Egyptian Security forces

And the anti-Israel emotions have only escalated following the Israeli response to this week’s militant action. In addition to strong political responses, the Egyptian soldiers’ deaths have sent protestors running out into the streets.

Citizen anger has likely been intensified as political parties and politicians have very publicly and very adamantly condemned the Jewish state. These individuals and groups have called for “tough measures to be taken.” After forming a coalition, these parties plan to approach Egypt’s current military rulers to make a series of eight demands.

These requests include recalling Egyptian Ambassador Yasser Reda from Israel, removing Israel’s ambassador from Egypt and banning Israeli naval forces from using the Suez Canal. In sum, there are eight appeals that the coalition plans to make.

Others include reporting Israel’s actions to the UN Security Council, punishing the Jewish state for its recent actions and pushing hard to turn those responsible for the Israeli military response over to Egyptian authorities. The group released a statement that reads:

“[The Mubarak regime] has been replaced by a strong nation that doesn’t know weakness and knows how to get justice for the blood of its martyrs. In the face of this crime, the Egyptians have united, across ideologies, political parties, police and army and put aside their differences for the sake of the nation and give support to their armed forces against this attack.”

The message seems to be that Mubarak’s less-than-hostile relations with Israel were “weak” in nature. This new “strong nation” is emboldened by the recent violence that occurred and will not progress in a manner favorable to Israel. The joint response is very clear, pointed and, considering the trajectory of the region and the uncertainty inherent in the political schema, concerning. According to Ahram Online:

The statement was signed by presidential candidates Amr Moussa, Hisham El-Bastawisy, Ayman Nour and the representative of Islamist candidate Abdel Moneim Abul Fotouh, as well as the representatives of the Wafd Party, the Wasat Party, the Ghad Party, El-Hadara Party, El-Asala Party and El-Nahda Party. The statement was also signed by Samir Morcos, deputy to the governor of Cairo, George Ishaq, former secretary-general to the Kefaya Movement, and prominent media personality Hamdy Kandeel.

As a result of the Israeli response, the Arab League accused the Jewish state of war crimes as well:

While the response has certainly been strong on the Egyptian end, Israel has expressed its regret for the soldiers’ deaths, however this apology has been rejected and deemed “insufficient.” Despite these setbacks, tensions may be diffusing. Below, watch a report that showcases information on the push to contain this politically-flammable situation:

Regardless of whether this situation dissipates, the joint statement that was endorsed by six political parties and numerous presidential candidates should serve as a warning. The character and values espoused within the response showcase the negative levels to which these individuals and groups are willing to take Egypt’s relationship with Israel.

Make no mistake…it is going down “just as intended” from the perspective of Islam…that is one of the reasons that Obama was “the chosen one” to bring about the NWO, and the uprisings and chaos that are ensuing. All nations are going against Israel as prophesied. It’s going to be a bl**d b”th just as predicted in Zechariah and Revelations. Do you know who Obama is? …..Are you ready?

So why blame a mere puppet like Obama, Hillary or Bill?

WOW!! Your comment was formulated while totally dismissive of all fact! As a Christian I CAN’T STAND this “chosen people” nonsense! The country someone is from doesn’t make them “chosen”. The decisions coming out of Israel are not that of Godly people! That’s like calling a Priest who molests little boys a “man of God!” God’s people are those that believe in him and live their lives according to his commandments. God’s love, grace, and mercy is not predicated, nor dictated by geographical consequence!

      psc,

You are assuming to know something you have no clue of! You assume to know what’s in the heart of each Israeli! Impossible! Simply because the U.S. grants rights to americans that live a lifestyle you disagree with does not mean this country is “shunning god”. It means this country is governing according to the Constitution of the U.S., and that pesky “All men are created equal” jazz, and that everyone has the right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” nonsense! Unreal!

I never said that god hasn’t chosen people! I said that not everyone in Israel is a Chosen individual if they are not living their lives according to the principals god has set forth! If you think they are going to heaven simply because they were born in Israel, then you need to actually read your bible instead of just thumping it!!

Or maybe my understanding of theology is wrong. Maybe you can not accept Jesus as Lord and walk right into Heaven? Which way is it abby? Can we deny the Christ and still enter in or is the accepting of Him still a precondition?

Thomasdaddy: There certainly is some truth to what you say. Many Jewish Israelis are entirely unobservant, and not at all adherent to God’s laws. But, that is precisely the argument that the Muslims use as to why they should have Israel, and not the Jews. Muslims acknowledge most of what is in the Old Testament. They just say that the Jews have given up their right to be the “Chosen People” by their behavior. Thus, the Muslims say, they should be kicked out of the Holy Land, and it should be taken over by the Muslims.

Abby..the Bible does say to stand with Israel. It does say that in Romans 11:25-27 that God has allowed blindess to happen to Israel until the full number of gentiles have come in..Then all of Israel will be saved . In Zech 12, 13, and 14 the bible teaches that Jesus pours out His Spirit of grace and supplication upon Israel and they will realize that they have pierced their own God and there will be weeping in every house. I don’t think all will continue in their new found belief. God says we are to witness to them. During the war, two thirds of them will be slain. The remaining one third is the remnant. Jesus makes it very clear that we are not to be arrogant, because we are the wild olive branches grafted in..and He can cut us out if we are not careful. He also says that if they continue in their unbelief, that they will not be grafted back in. But he still makes it perfectly clear that they are His first and most beloved. And He does say to stand with Israel. I prefer to be obedient to Him. Blessings to you Abby

I don’t believe that he is a citizen of this country. There are two opposing forces in the world.,, that is good and evil… God..and Satan. Anything not of Jesus Christ is not of God. Islam has been the agressive force against Jesus Christ. Do you know the love that a parent has for a child? This is how much Jesus loves Israel. I realize that we are Spiritual Israel, adopted in. Obama is entirely trusted by the overwhelming majority of Jews even to this day. Are they some conservative Jews which despise him? Yes. But the fact remains without their support he’s finished. I said all of that to simply make the point that if they thought he was a Muslim they would not be behind him such as they are…

ashestoashes: You’ve often expressed many reasonable opinions on this site before but please try to refrain from the silly notion that Obama is a Muslim. I’d say at best Obama is agnostic and Marxist. Regardless he rose to power on the wings of Jews. They chose him, financed him, provided political coverage for him and postive spin in the Media. Just like with Bill Clinton almost his enitre cabinet and everyone that was anyone was Jewish.

You can research this out yourself by simply Googling Bill Clinton and Jews. Then you will see the carry over into the Obama administration.

Let me know what you find and whether or not it is convincing to you. Now I believe Obama relates to his racial roots but he’s not a Muslim nor a Christian.

I don’t fully understand what is going on in the ME but I can assure you that this administration is not setting Israel up. They are probably approaching the situation from a more pragmatic view than most Christians on the Blaze are able to. Israel is a small nation surrounded by Billions of Arabs who don’t care for them. The reality of the situation is that the entire situation is a nightmare and major headache but for temporary peace Israel is going to have to give more…

I was telling a friend this morning that this is beginning to play out more and more like what is recorded in Bible prophecy.. He laughed but it’s true.

I say it‘s high time that Israel start handing out sophisticated missiles and long range weaponry to it’s citizens in border areas. (if they happen to be IDF members who know how to use them properly, all the better.)

Leave the Israeli government out of it. If Hamas, Hezbollah and Egypt are going to allow militants to attack Israel and claim to not be involved, then Israel should follow the same model. Start lobbing missiles indiscriminately into Gaza, West Bank, and Sinai, then deny official Israeli involvement.

Israel attacked by 10 missiles? Return them ten-fold immediately. A war is coming to Israel, no matter what course they take, and I am of the opinion that you do not let your opponent prepare and organize. Time for Israel to have an excuse to take the kid gloves off.

For Israel, THEM are a hateful lot of Persons of the Islamic Faith, who have been blessed by God and Us, with oil. However, they use it to try to spread their filth, and destroy goodness. If Beck focused on America, Israel would have more of a chance. If illegals get the right to vote in America, it’s only a matter of time before Israel is wiped out anyways.

@Mr MIke- I Neither Glenn or the Blaze have an obligation or duty to report on any story in particular. He and his website are private enterprises and conduct business accordingly. We, as consumers, have the right to patronize his endeavors as we see fit. This is not an argument with your point of view. I may even agree with you. However, you are confusing Glenn with someone who can affect real change in our political situation. You are free to voice your opinion my friend, but you really need to contact the powers that be on this issue.

Carpet bomb the entire region then nuke it for good measure. Those heathens will never evolve and leave the Stone Age. Heck, even if they were to be bombed back to the Stone Age, it would be a huge step forward for them. Frigin’ troglodytes…….

This person calls for the annihilation of a Nation and I do not even hear so much as a peep out of any of you fine Christians? That gives new meaning to Jesus’ commandment to love your enemies doesn’t it?

Point is I don’t care what this idiot says and I hope he really doesn’t want to slaughter millions of Arabs simply because they are upset over the fact that some of their military personnel were “accidentally” killed at the hands of Jews. However, I am alarmed over how many of my posts are continually removed simply for pointing out names and ethnicities of many of America’s top conspirators. Not only that I often get attacked and called all sort of ugly names just for pointing out mere facts yet this guy calls for the destruction of a Nation and….

Do you think that maybe you’re a little brainwashed people? Just a smidge? lol

Ah what the hell, crank of the fighter jets we have plenty of money to spend on another War and besides we’ll be protecting and serving the “chosen.” God will love us! Isn’t that right my Neo-Con friends?

      @BIOHAZRD
Back in the day of King Saul, God actually did command from Saul the complete annihilation of every man woman and child of these people. Not even their animals were to be left alive. God told Them that they would have trouble with them forever if they did not. The reason Saul was given these orders is because they kept sneaking up on Israeli camps and murdering them. Saul didn‘t follow God’s orders to the letter, thinking he knew better what would please God.. and as the story goes, they are still the scourge of the earth. We don’t have to do anything but stand with Israel. Jesus is going to come and rock their world.
There have been many conversions to Christianity. God will save all true Christians..those being obedient to Him. There will be no way into heaven except by Jesus Christ..Son of God

Is anyone noticing the overall pattern going on lately:

    A. Ongoing calls of nations for a “Palestinian State”
    B. Obama administration places Israel on “sponsors of terrorism” nation list.
    C. Obama throws Israel unto the wolves.
    D. Terrorists provoke Israel with multiple attacks.
    E. Egypt demands Israel be punished when they strike back.
    F. Protests erupting for housing, SOCIAL JUSTICE, and such in Israel
    G. Day of Rage worldwide on financial institutions (9/17)
    H. UN petition for Palestinian State Recognition (9/20)

Look for the buildup of armed forces on the borders of Israel; for I can see a move made via the UN that WHEN, not IF, a Palestinian State comes about, the call for “Peacekeepers” will be made to “secure and guarantee the new borders” and the results will be an invasion of Israel proper.

Look also for Obama to deploy US troops into the “peacekeepers” as well, on the side of the new nation-state in the region.

Very well put. We the people need to stand up for Israel. If we don’t, the next battlefront will be on our soil. Remeber, behind every blade of grass will be an armed American.

We may be behind them.I just hope its not just for using them as sheilds…. With all the political correctness that handcuffs our National Security from the Muslims within our borders… we will fall soon. There isnt any other way to deal with it… we either slam the door on islamists who want to infiltrate our government, and do what Oklahoma did, and pass anti-sharia legislation ( which their courts have now blocked) or everntually, they will make laws against us, further destroy America as we know it, and populate this land with murderous thugs under the guise of a religious califate. Its Gotta be stopped NOW…. or it never will be. Look at Europe, London has already lost 2 suburbs to the Muslims…. Wake UP PEOPLE!!! ISLAM IS not YOUR FREIND.

    This part is interesting.

Soo, Ol’ Hosni imprisioned Ayman Nour, and bOOhs spoke up on his behalh.
Now Ol Nour, who is faring well in the polls wants Israel punished..
So much for the big government spending conservative bOOsh. (Um friends, the con part is in jest.)

W/ Hosni gone, the broHOOD will control Egypt, I don’t care how much [borrowed loot and military hardware we give their military .
We need to stop this immediately. The weapons we are supplying to Egypt’s military will eventually be used against Israel.
Our pols have their heads up their kpharses if they think the military can keep the peace (w/ Israel)forever when the Hood gains control of the country.
