Tony Scott’s widow, Donna, has told police that her famous filmmaker husband did not in fact have brain cancer, Deadline New York reports, citing “informed insiders.”
ABC’s “Good Morning America” previously reported that Scott may have committed suicide because he was suffering from “inoperable brain cancer.“ They cited a ”source close to him,” however the claim was never confirmed. The story was picked up by media outlets across the globe.
Scott, director of the popular Hollywood blockbusters “Top Gun,“ ”Days of Thunder“ and ”Beverly Hills Cop II,” died Sunday after jumping from a Los Angeles County Bridge, authorities said. Police are investigating his death as a suicide.
Deadline has more on this exclusive and breaking story:
The news was widely picked up by media outlets globally (but not Deadline) as the reason why Scott committed suicide Sunday by jumping off a Los Angeles County bridge at 12:35 PM. This is the second time in a month that ABC News has erroneously reported on a sensitive news story. During the Aurora movie theater shooting tragedy, ABC News claimed the gunman was a Tea Party member which was not true.
Meanwhile, Lt Fred Corral with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office tells Deadline that an autopsy was completed today on the 68-year-old Scott, but the cause of death was deferred pending toxicological and other tests. The results will take 4 to 8 weeks. Coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey also tells Deadline that his office is in possession of “part of a suicide note” found in Scott’s black Prius car found at the scene of the suicide but will not be releasing any of that information at this time.
This story is breaking and may be updated.

Posted on August 21, 2012 at 11:40amI had read a study that lying to someone, dehumanizes them- the person lied to, it’s a form of abuse. And Then I read the article that ABC only told the truth(or accurate) 20% of the time…. Why would anyone listen to ‘someone’ who lies to you 8 out of 10 times??
Report Post »For whatever reason drove this man to his death, My sympathy to the family and friends that now have to grieve and mourn a death that shouldn’t have happened.

Posted on August 21, 2012 at 9:39amJust piece of evidence in the stack of evidence against ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC and all of liberal print media that they all work for the administration and are an integral party of the democrat party operation. Since they submit their stories to the WH operatives for approval to make sure their lies, deceptions and propaganda themes are in line with the democrat party line. The national media might just as well be by executive order become an official administration agency for information and propaganda for that is what they have become practically and functionally. Nobody accept useful idiots and and the poorly educated believe anything that comes out of their vacuous minds.

Posted on August 20, 2012 at 10:54pmBeverly Hills Cop II was a block-buster? I don’t think so. In fact, I don’t remember any crowds when Top Gun and Days of Thunder were playing, either.

Posted on August 20, 2012 at 11:24pmFrom that era, anything that made over 100 million domestically was a blockbuster. Ticket prices have doubled since then.
Top Gun 176 million domestic 382 million adjusted for inflation
Bev Hills Cop 2 153 million domestic 315 million adjusted for inflation
Yep… would call that a blockbuster

Posted on August 21, 2012 at 11:32amOf the three, Top Gun was by far the biggest and yes, it did qualify as a blockbuster.

Posted on August 20, 2012 at 10:17pmA man like Scott – and all the rest of Hollyweird – has a great empty hole right through the middle of him. They can never achieve enough or steal enough or amass enough fame to ever fill it.
What do they need?
They need Repentance.
For What?
Being born.

Posted on August 20, 2012 at 9:51pmI wonder if ABC thinks they are destroying news credibility? I think maybe it’s they are desperate for ratings. Or, maybe they are like the wicked child who was fallen to an elders predictions of the outcome of the child’s actions – therefore the child attempts to show-up the elder by making predictions of his own to the other children. A lot of people have seen that before even in the way an adult may give another adult advice that winds up being accurate, and yet they didn’t listen – of we get that “Oh yeah, if you’re so smart” reaction.

Posted on August 20, 2012 at 10:56pmABC – Another Bald-faced Contradiction
Obviously, Mr. Scott was distraught about something, but I bet if ABC digs, they will find out Mitt Romney and Bain Capital did something to him years ago, and he finally snapped. It’s Mitt’s Fault.

Posted on August 20, 2012 at 11:11pmAye, ABC and NBC have not only kissed the blarney stone, they humped it with all their might. Now we have to keep our daughters away from it, the only ones we will let kiss it anymore is the bloody British, and of course the Califonians, they always say it tastes familar.
