Report: Germany Sending Tax Collectors to Greece — Sign of ‘Colonization?’

More than 160 German “financial services executives” (i.e. tax collectors) are preparing to go to Greece in order to “strengthen the Greek tax mechanism,” according to a report published in the German magazine Wirtschafts Woche.
The magazine quotes German deputy finance minister Hans Bernhard Beus as saying “the return to active duty of retired tax collectors should not be ruled out,” the Athens News reports.
The Wirtschafts Woche article also refers to a “confidential report” from the European Commission, which claims the mechanism of tax collection in Greece is “especially problematic.”
Translation: Germany is preparing to deploy 160 tax collectors, some of which have been brought out of retirement, to go deal with Greece’s “problematic” tax collection system and make sure that revenues are being collected.
What does this mean?
Writers are Zero Hedge believes Germany is “blatantly” colonizing Greece.
“Since [Greece] no longer even pretends to be anything less than a pass-thru funding colony of its creditors, said creditors (European banks and various insurance companies) are about to send out the first group of colonial scouts in the form of German tax collectors,” Zero Hedge writes.
The report continues:
Greece will literally have to collect taxes to fund the Second “bailout package”, which is merely a front for on ongoing Greek bailout of European banks (recall that it is Greece who is partially funding the bailout Escrow Account), said tax collectors will assist their Greek counterparts (who will rather likely miss their quote of becoming 200% more efficient in 2012) in collecting money from Greek citizens to pay off German banks. If in the process a few (or all) bars of gold end up missing, so be it.
To put it plainly, “this will be literally easier than stealing rehypothecated candy from an insolvent baby.”
The article goes on to claim that this latest move by Germany is an “open attempt at colonization by a few German ‘leaders,’ who just like in every other insolvent developed country, operate solely at the behest of their banker funders.”
“We fear that such incursions into national sovereignty will only accelerate… until they are finally halted, very violently, and very tragically,” Zero Hedge writers ominously warn.

That‘s the worst ad Hitlerum attack I’ve ever seen. Angela Merkel isn’t moving on anyone and from the looks of it, she doesn’t even want to!
You’re missing the point, I think. Greece has spent itself into bankruptcy and is now using Germany’s money to pay for the things that Greece went bankrupt on. How is this going to help Germany? How is this going to have any effect at all, aside form Greece spending Germany into bankruptcy?
If Germany wants to send their equivalent of IRS auditors to Greece to make sure the Germans’ money is well spent and not wasted, Greece has no right to groan about it.
Let’s illustrate it this way: You have a kid in college that you’re sending your money to. The kid refuses to work, doesn’t spend wisely, and refuses to listen to any notion of yours in either of those directions but is begging for you to help by sending money.
What do you do?
I’ll bet you give the kid a prepaid debit card and watch where they spend with the threat of cutting them off, don’t you?
How is this any different?

I hear you, as the entitlement mentality is indeed out of control, but in the end it really does benefit the bankers because we are now paying around 4 billion a WEEK just in interest to service the debt.
The bankers reap the benefits from our welfare state, even though the Federal government has no constitutional business getting involved in such matters.
With an honest money system, such stupid levels of debt would never be allowed in the first place, and if we actually followed the constitution the welfare state would not exist at the federal level.
On both of these issues, Ron Paul has it exactly right.

Maybe you should apologize for being duped with your eyes closed. He talks a good game but when it‘s all boiled down he’s just the same slimy politician as the rest of them. Using us and lying to us and being hypocritical about it by appearing to stand about the rest.

Talk about moving the goal posts!
You asked for even so much as one example, so I gave you five of them, and you come back with that nonsense?
You clearly have no shame.
Attacking Romney‘s backing of the bailouts is pretty specific and he did that in the first link I provided you with for Pete’s sake.
You have some nerve claiming others have their eyes closed when you make accusations that are not even factual and only based on rumors. Yours is simply wishful thinking.
If you have an example of Paul lying, present it…and as for hypocrisy…once again…example please.
The reality of the matter is the only one in this race with a record to back what they are currently running on is Ron Paul, and if that hurts your feelings because you back one of the candidates in the pocket of the bankers…whatever.
Tell us…what is your candidate of choice’s position on the Federal Reserve and the IMF?
Please…do tell.
Report Post »Lordchamp
Posted on February 27, 2012 at 4:22pmno goal post moved I don’t feel you met the burden of proof I asked for. Those are nothing close to what he had done to any other candidate if you could be honest with yourself.
His actions speak volumes for themselves and no other proof is needed than the own candidates actions.
I have no dog in this hunt. I don’t like ANY of the candidates and most likely will not bother to accept the chosen “lesser of two evils” yet again since I have no doubt that he will lose regardless.
I merely sick and tired of hearing all the crap about Paul being so clean and shiny when he is nothing of the sort. He’s as dirty as the rest of them. Mark my words. Come time for the convention and he’ll be right in there making deals to sell you and your support out. So your vote for Paul is a vote for Romney. Can you live with that? Honestly?

Oh good Lord…here’s another example.
http://www.ronpaul2012.com/2011/06/05/june-5th-money-bomb-the-revolution-vs-romneycare/
“And honestly, we don’t need 10 million dollars to match Mitt Romney.
After all, Congressman Paul doesn’t have to defend a liberal record as governor of Massachusetts!
He doesn’t have to defend passing a bill just as bad as ObamaCare or justify conflicting position statements. Mitt Romney does. So it’s ok if he has a bit more money than we do.”
He’s going to need it!
———-
Will you move the goal posts….yet again?
If you claim Paul is dirty, then you should at least be willing to give an example.
Ron Paul could not sell me on any other candidate because as far as I’m concerned they are all shills for the bankers and the elitists, and that certainly applies to Romney.
Myself and many others have made it abundently clear that if Paul is not nominated we will either write him in or go third party….period.
The fact is…a vote for anyone other than Paul is a vote for the banksters.
NO ONE BUT PAUL…..

Remember what happened when the Cubans looked around and realized that American businesses (read mafia) owned 90% of the property in their homeland.
They simply went communist and seized all the property.
Right, wrong or indifferent, I don’t expect the Greeks will just throw their hands in the air and say, “Oh well, we’ll just starve to death quietly since our government failed us.”
This is just how it happens, folks. First they run up insurmountable debt. Then they convince you that communism is better than 90% income tax to pay for this insurmountable debt. Then they drag 25 million people out into the street and shoot them if they disagree.
That’s how Communism is born around the world. Today Greece, tomorrow USA.

I generally dislike tax cheats. Being former military, my wages were paid from tax receipts.
But tax rates have to be bearable. Tax rates can’t be arbitrary or be set so some politicians can win a popularity contest due to his give aways.

Posted on February 27, 2012 at 11:39amI‘m sure that’s going to go over well with the Greeks! Greece needs to extricate themselves from the corrupt and tyrannical European Union (E.U.) then they might have a chance to survive. Otherwise, the E.U. is going to be dictating their every move through the Troika.
Then they should use the Iceland example to get out of their financial woes. Iceland was the first to be hit with this financial crisis and it should be the model that all the countries under the tyranny of the E.U. to follow! Then all the countries under the tyranny of Germany and the Big Bank should extricate themselves from the fascist and Nazi-founded E.U.
