Report: Iran to Build New Nuclear Power Plant by 2014

AP

Iran plans to build a second nuclear power plant by early 2014, French news agency Agence France-Presse reported.

“Iran will build a 1,000-megawatt nuclear power plant in Bushehr next year,” Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization head Fereydoon Abbasi Davani reportedly told state television. According to AFP, he was referring to the Iranian calendar year, which runs from March 2013 to March 2014.

The southern city of Bushehr is the site of Iran’s sole nuclear power plant, started by German engineers in the 1970s. It went online in September, with Russian help.

Iran also has a research reactor in Tehran used for medical purposes for patients with cancer and other illnesses.

Despite United Nations calls for Iran to curb its activities, Iran has insisted its nuclear program is for peaceful, energy-producing purposes only.

Update: According to the Associated Press, Abbasi said the country is planning to build at least two nuclear power plants.

I’m sorry but there is no way these guys can build a nuclear power plant in less than two years. We all know exactly what they are doing. Well, I know one person who doesn‘t seem to see what’s going on here. I’ll give you a hint: He is our president.

Perhaps Westinghouse is building it for them. Interesting to note how many countries can utilize our companies and our technology to build nuclear power plants, but somehow we can’t.

israel is hated by the globalist because they won’t “play ball”, but never let a crisis go unused. so, by israel taking out iran’s nuclear capacity (with america’s help) this will be used by the globalists to effect changes in america during the election year and provide saudia arabia (globalist friendly regieme) the needed boost to become the pre-eminent islamic government.

people, we war not with flesh and blood but with principalities. for all eternity, Elohim is in control. with Him we have the victory and the best laid plans of evil will always be overturned.

You know the blood thirsty murderers in the Israeli regime like I do.. They will bomb and destroy Iran just like the tried to sink the USS Liberty and blame it on the Egyptians.. And if they don’t do it they will have AIPAC pay off the American Congress and have the US do it for them like they did in Iraq.

Funny how the only war mongering I ever hear comes from Israel and the US.. All Iran ever says is that Israel is illegitimate and that they have stolen Palestinian land which is obviously true be even the most stringent Zionist interpretations.

Well let Israel attempt to satiate their desire for blood.. Only a matter of time before their will be another regime in the Middle East that Israel just can’t tolerate and they will have all of their brethren in the US Media direct our attention towards them next.. So it’s Afganistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Pakistan, Egypt.. Who’s next? Sooner or the later the world is going to become wise to their diabolical aims. What will all the ignorant Zionist Christians in America do then? I can tell you what they won’t do.. They won’t fight.. They will desire for someone else to lay down their life so that they can play out their apocalyptic fantasies…

With major wars winding down, has Washington already cut such spending so close to the bone that further reductions would be perilous to our safety?

In fact, with projected cuts added in, the national security budget in fiscal 2013 will be nearly $1 trillion – a staggering enough sum that it‘s worth taking a walk through the maze of the national security budget to see just where that money’s lodged.”

Back in the 1970′s, President Gerald Ford and Dick Cheney didn’t seem to mind at all if Iran acquired power…in fact, they were the ones who initially helped Iran acquire nuclear capability:

    ———————————————
“Ford‘s team commended Iran’s decision to build a massive nuclear energy industry, noting in a declassified 1975 strategy paper that Tehran needed to “prepare against the time — about 15 years in the future — when Iranian oil production is expected to decline sharply.”

Estimates of Iran’s oil reserves were smaller then than they are now, but energy experts and U.S. intelligence estimates continue to project that Iran will need an alternative energy source in the coming decades. Iran’s population has more than doubled since the 1970s, and its energy demands have increased even more.

The Ford administration — in which Cheney succeeded Rumsfeld as chief of staff and Wolfowitz was responsible for nonproliferation issues at the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency — continued intense efforts to supply Iran with U.S. nuclear technology until President Jimmy Carter succeeded Ford in 1977.

That history is absent from major Bush administration speeches, public statements and news conferences on Iran. ”
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A3983-2005Mar26.html

In fact, remember this famous advertisement from the 1970′s?:

The answer to your post is a simple one, the Sha was our friend during the Ford administration. Carter refused to assist him during the original “Arab spring” which produced the current problem that exists today. Asking why would no one mention this would be like asking “Why didn’t the western powers assist Stalin after WWII, after all, wasn’t there the lend lease act under Roosevelt?” Can you see the falousy of your logic?

Can you see the falousy of your logic?
      ==================================================

You’re missing the point entirely though……….during the 1970′s, President Ford and Dick Cheney said that Iran would run out of oil in 15 years time:

      ————————————————————————-
“Ford‘s team commended Iran’s decision to build a massive nuclear energy industry, noting in a declassified 1975 strategy paper that Tehran needed to “prepare against the time — about 15 years in the future — when Iranian oil production is expected to decline sharply.”
      http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A3983-2005Mar26.html
      ————————————————————————-

That was 1975….so 15 years from that point would have been the year 1990 and is the year in which “Iranian oil production is expected to decline sharply.” (according to Dick Cheney and Gerald Ford)

It is now the year 2012 (1990 was 22 years ago), so obviously Iranian oil production has dropped drastically by now (provided that you believe what Cheney and Ford had to say about this in the 1970′s), and it’s time to start making the switch over to nuclear power before all the oil has been tapped.

But the full aftermath of Fukishima is yet to come there are already particles from it hitting seattle and other western areas of the US and there far from even cleaning it up, they haven’t even completely contained it, if you see an up-rise in cancer that maybe why. all it takes is one mess up not even from the US to cause mass human causalities.

You passed … errr you failed spectacularly. They will have cures for disease using human adult stem cells form the patients own body.

      Two points:
      – First, if you use your own stem cells their is less of risk or no risk of rejection. You do not need to take anti-rejection drugs (paying $) & leave yourself at risk to infection.

      - Second, you are not killing life to get something. there is bound to be a moral hazard in feta/embryonic stem cell collection. There is not enough abortions? No problem induce a pregnant woman to get an abortion with a wad of cash. We have government control of organ transplants & we have a black market around the world for such transplants. Same would happen for fetal stem cells.

By you comment I take it you a paid troll or a person who is so far to the left that you only drink Kool aid.

      Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, Fukishima.

Chernobyl was a graphite core reactor. It was 50s design Contrary to safety regulations, bitumen, a combustible material, had been used in the construction of the roof of the reactor building and the turbine hall. You got to love communism :)

A concern is that reactor cooling will fail (power to cooling pumps will be interrupted). There are passive circulation designs.

I have been by 3 Mile Island. I had to go. After the brouhaha by the press & I had to see it. I just saw normal people living in normal towns. How many people died at 3 mile Island. They estimate that 1 or 2 additional people MAY die. That’s bad, but nowhere near as bad as the # of people that die from conventional boiler explosions.

Fukishima presents concerns. But so does the whole Island of Japan. One skyscraper falling form an earthquake is going to kill more people than Fukishima You know that is going to happen.

You want to see bad. Go to Haiti. It looks like moonscape. They used firewood for their energy needs. How are you going to fix that? Are you a Zero Population Growth (ZPG) member? Oh wait they changed their name to Population connection so they can continue to con people.

I would propose that all three nuclear reactor leaks were due to government. One was b/c of communism (and all the reasons why it destroys everything). Fukishima, operated by TEPCO, was essentially a government controlled entity.

Show me an instance where a privately owned company has had a major nuclear incident. Of course we need good regulations and transparency. My understanding is that the NRC is terribly run and way behind on technology and safety protocols (b/c of industry lobbiests). Fixing NRC is a good place to start

USA has de-stabilized every other major middle east Islamic country except for Saudi

The USA destabilized every client state or ally of NAZI Germany. THE USA destabilized every client state of the USSR.

      What is your point?

      Pakistan has not threatened us.

North Korea should not exist. North Korea is merely China’s stalking horse. With a nuke or without a nuke, North Korea is a Chinese buffer state which seconds a foil for China to jab at America.

You have not made your point.

you are the only one who does not understand. A nuclear weapon is the only way to deter an american invasion or uprising. I gave N Korea and pakistan as examples because we are not able to attack them because of their nuclear weapon(s). In addition, we give Pakistan money every year to support their regime b/c we are afraid of their weapon getting into the wrong hands.

I’ll say it again – obtaining a nuclear weapon is the only way to deter an american attack/invasion/uprising

We give Pakistan Aid because of the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan & because we have to transit the country to bring in supplies for the current conflict. As 1/3rd to 2/3rds of the factions that make up the political parties or other centers of power in Pakistan are not with us. F_ck’em. Without money to grease the skids let them kill each other. I am sure a nuke will get lose. But hey we have e coast Guard. The Southern border, well, the Napolitano told us that was peachy & nothing to see.

We will get nuked. It is a matter of when not if. It doesn’t matter if we have bases in the middle east. This is shown by the Twin Trade center bombing of 1993. We did what exactly? Kick Iraq out of Kuwait? The Horror? Then there are the bases. More Horror. Well boys & girls there is this little things called logistics. To be able to present a credible threat to prevent a 2nd invasion of Kuwait, you need logistics & that means bases. The Horror! Or do Marines crap the bullets they need to fire from their guns? Al Qaeda is a grafted organization. It has roots thru zawahiri that go back to the Muslim Brotherhood & the 1920s. They hated us back then. They hated us in the late 40s & the early 50s when one of their scholars attended college in Colorado.

The Muslim Brotherhood started before the U.S. had any power in that part of the world. It started in the 1920s. It is just one example of an actor on the world stage there that hated us before we did squat about any

But it IS known that Ron Paul never stepped foot in ‘Nam, but DID make a stop in Iran during that purposely vague time in his short Air Force Active Duty career before Texas and the Air Guard. Was he on some sort of Medical Humanitarian mission? He certainly wasn’t taking care of any American combat related casualties during that particular time. What did your daddy do during war-time is the question you should be asking Ron Paul. Or don’t any of you really care as long as he calls other “chicken hawks” and such? He sure makes a big deal of his Military Service, so why is he so vague on what he actually did?

I would quite call it an obsession with Paul SOY… Paul supporters have those bases covered very nicely. My point in being here is to be the counter-balance to an obsessed cult following and ideology that is just as dangerous to this country as Obama. As a Conservative and a Blaze poster, I find it my duty to continually point out the “other” fringe disease that is currently inhabiting the GOP because of political expediency. That disease is the Ron Paul’s Murray Rothbard/Lew Rockwell ideological hijacking of whatever good there was in Libertarianism which attempts to infect Conservative America.

If you think what I write is just about Ron Paul you are as clueless as you are to Ron Paul’s entire biography…

There is no difference between the two.The media has you trained and controlled like pets. Critical thinking and reading facts is lost. Keep believing what they tell you and don’t believe your eyes.
They have duped us all for along time with fear, lies and now intimidation. The wars, the threats, the fear mongering is all done to keep the military industrial complex alive and well and to line the bankers pockets who fund both sides. SOY. I forgot to mention, I find Veterans who throw their “medals” away a pretty shameful act, just like when John Kerry “the volunteer” did it. If they didn’t like the fact that they could go to war, they should have never “volunteered” for the Military the first place. They had a choice, and their grandstanding was just that…. grandstanding…

I’m sure like John Kerry, there were a number of Stolen Valor types and record embellishing grandstanders out there.

My understanding was that these are retired military personnel who are protesting the things that went on while they were in the military. The kept quiet while in the military out of respect for the organization and now that they are out – this is the most effective way to get their message out. They are not saying to disband the military – they are asking for consideration…

Are you going to consider the opinions of your fellow veterans? Not everyone who has a differing opinion is your enemy.

SOY. You are slightly incorrect on your assumptions or information. If there were ANY Retirees out there they may have been medical Retirees which doesn’t necessarily mean they served 20 or more years. Most all Retirees now’adays are from the “all volunteer Military” and from what I saw in some pics from this event, I didn’t see anyone who could even be close to that age group and status. That‘s not to say some older Vets weren’t there from previous years (some disgruntled Viet Nam Vets like Kerry etc). I have no kinship with the anti-war movement… none whatsoever. If you’re Vet and want to belong to that movement… God Bless ya’ is all I can say… but watch who you align yourself with because the extreme anti-Military movement slithers in those circles as well…

I distinguish between disgruntled (mostly dead-ender) Vets who probably never should have joined the Military in the first place (in this particular discussion), who do nothing but whine about and curse their experience and those of us who were “proud” to serve our country (retired or not), who don’t damn the Military AND our great country. Call Ronnie and ask him to produce a DD-214? Where was little Ronnie Paul during his “highly touted” Viet Nam Service? Iran for one place. What honors did Paul recieve during his “highly touted” Viet Nam Service? Photos of Paul in his Class-A/B uniform show no honors? In the Military… many of your honors are visible eh? Heck, even a “Flight Surgeon Badge” should be visible… correct? He was a Captain in the Air Force was he not? Didn’t anyone appreciate his Service with at least ONE Service Ribbon or Award?

Fact remains… only the Army drafted, NOT the Air Force… so how did Paul squirl his way into a REMF assignment with the Air Force during his two years on Active Duty and why did he elect to go into the “Air Guard” just as the war was beginning to ramp up? Was he cowardly? Wouldn’t he want his, ahem, “Flight Surgeon” skills be put to better use than giving physical exams to helicopter pilots in Texas while in the “Air Guard”?
