Report: Iran Tried to Bomb an Israeli Ship as it Passed Through the Suez Canal

Egyptian security forces have prevented Iranian agents from bombing an Israeli ship as it passed through the Suez Canal, according to the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram.

The Iranians reportedly hired two Egyptians to carry out the attack, Suleiman Razek Abdul-Razek and Salameh Ahmed Salameh, offering them 50 million Egyptian pounds (roughly $8.3 million US).  The two men then tried to pay another to act in their place, but are now denying any involvement in the matter whatsoever.

Egypt has threatened to prosecute anyone found to be attacking Israeli targets in coordination with the Iranians, but Israeli officials also point out that the Egyptian territory of the Sinai peninsula is becoming a safe haven for Iranians and terrorist groups of all shades.

Haaretz, an Israeli news organization, reports:

A high-ranking official in Jerusalem said last week that Iranian military experts have been active in Sinai and the Gaza Strip.

‘We can see signs that Iran is building a terror infrastructure throughout Sinai,’ he said. The official added that although Israel has responded to every Egyptian request to beef up its forces in Sinai, no significant Egyptian operation has taken place in Sinai since the Egyptian revolution last year.

Several terror groups are now at large in Sinai, the source claimed: local Bedouin, who are adopting the ideology of the Global Jihad; groups supported by Iran who are trying to recruit and train militants not only in Sinai but throughout Egypt; and Palestinian organizations. Joining them are Global Jihad militants from Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and Saudi Arabia… The official said the Iranians are urging and directing Palestinians to carry out attacks, and that they have tried to encourage Hamas to do so as well.

Iran has been grown steadily bolder in recent years, and this is not the first foiled attempt of its kind.  Earlier this year, Iranians tried to pay Manssor Arbabsiar to assassinate a foreign diplomat on U.S. soil, and in February the country sent warships into the Mediterranean Sea via the Suez Canal for the second time since 1979.

    You are assuming that the Saudis are smart enough and gutsy enough to do it. They have conflicting issues. They must decide whether they hate us (the West and the US in particular) or the Iranians more. Bottom line, in the end, they will vote for the oil dollars that the West supplies them, it‘s all they’ve got to keep them in power. Odd bed fellows. We have all the oil we need here in the USA, we actually have more than we need and the means to access it. Any American citizen needs to ask themselves why our own government strives to keep us from it. It would mean jobs, it would mean independence, not only from the Middle East, but the economic burden of being in debt to China. The Middle East would implode if they couldn’t sell us their oil. If you look at what our own government is doing, you would have to conclude it is not on the side of the American people. This is not a Repub or Democratic issue, this is a national security issue with our own government on the wrong side of the equation. Our public needs to be educated on the stakes, conservatives need to fight back with facts and figures and make the case and force the other side to defend with something other than platitudes. The lame stream media has become an enemy of the United States, by design or default. Doesn’t really matter as long as it is exposed. Americans are waking up, I just hope we are not too late.

      I couldn’t agree more.

      The interesting thing is that the Iranians are not arabs.They are Persians and they have a millennia long history of fighting the arabs and the muslims.

      They are now ruled by muslims, though many of them are not happy about it, and they are allied with the arabs.

      This is going to end very badly for them and many of their own population can see it. Unfortunately, Islam crushes dissent of any kind, so they will have to wait for the inevitable war.

      I don’t think that they will be waiting much longer.

      You are so right, we have 3x the amount of oil in 1 spot then all of Saudi. The other fact is, Americans are not even aware of our oil being sold to China. Take a good look at the Dakota find and their issue is getting it to market.

      Actually, that’s not quite right now and soon in the future — the American dollars, if they are paying attention, wouldn’t be a driving factor. Other currncies are worth more and China and India are consuming more & more oil each year. The American dollar is on the verge of collapse, having surpassed our annual GDP, rising inflation which in turn rises the amount we can buy, the Triple A credit lowering, and how about now that it’s at the point where the average amount each American owes to pay it off, is now impossible (given half the people don’t pay taxes, and that there no foreseable climb in jobs that could feasibly create enough tax payers). Also, what was the name of that country recently that managed to pay for oil not using American dollars?

      No, our fading dollar bill is not hte issue. The issue is, as always has been with extremists, how much do they hate Jews, and believe in the Califate. Previously in history you needed months, supplies, and ships, and many men to get your enemy. Now Iran is on the verge of intercontinental missile tech., and nuclear weapons. They are closer than ever to wiping Israel and other enemies off the map with ease — why stop here? There will never be a better shot, short of the U.S.A. collapsing.

      Islamists have been driven by hate and conquest for over a thousand years. Dollars won’t stop them. Especially when ignorant leaders rule them.

      I believe they did not have to go to court to come home ….they came in and made the state of Israel, with AUTHORITY. That is as legitimate as England, Wales, Ireland and the U.S.A….among many other nations. I like the story and the people. Personally, I plan to stand in Israel soon enough,, for that is where we will face our ultimate earthly foe.

    Iran has the will to kill, but they lack the courage and the means to do it openly. If Iran ever feels they have the means to attack openly, they will find the courage because they are willing. Allowing them to develop a nuclear weapon system will guarantee a massive attack. Sooner or later Iran will be anihilated.

I may be wrong but most of what I see on TV look more like Arabs. Now there are still a great number of Persians in Iran but it’s sort of like America today or Russia last century when a diabolical and manical minority take over a great nation and pervert the will of the host people…

      It’s very common especially among certain races of people. Those that have mottos like “War by Deception…” One has to watch them very closely.

    Someone needs to fire Obama, but that would take longer than getting him voted out. He knows it, the terrorists knows it, and all who are using this stranger in our White House knows it. Obama is a stranger to me, a stranger in our Republic, and a stranger to American Laws and Policy. I am afraid all this has not been done but by design. They got a good handle with Eric Holder holding the reins in the Justice Department and the radicals on the U.S. Supreme Court. Somone has sure enough been asleep at the helm of this country. If we get out of this one, we had better never allow people to come into our White House who work against our laws and Constitution and most of all our God. We better protect Israel and never go against people who are God’s chosen people. Obama is glossing over what he really feels. America is living in some very dangerous times with treacherous people at the helm. I do not know but by the Grace of God if we can get out of this one.They are trying to make it easy to cheat at the voting booths by not wanting people to present photo ID. These people are so obviously liars and cheats that they are attempting to rub it in our faces by saying the poor cannot afford an ID. I say buy them one. Vengance belongs to the Lord, and He is quite good at it. They will cheat to keep him in office, but if they do it will be a time like no other in the history of this country.     Iran has made threats against America and all but an out and out declaration of war by saying if we helped Israel they had people in place here in the U.S. to do damage. These people are cruising for a bruising and will likely try something before Rick Santorum or some conservative gets into office. Their azz would be grass then. Obama has, it seems, a partly muslim heart and will hesitate to do anything until this country has had some damage. His decisions do not seem to be in line with the best interests of this country with his Ayers, Jones, Wright and his late college professor Derik whats-his-name? I do not trust Obama to defend this country without being forced to do so by the people of this land. Those terrorists know it too. This man is dangerous to this country whether he is trying to be or not. Why does Obama not see what most of the American people and America’s only real ally in the Mid East is seeing? My guess is, he does. If I can see it, about anyone can see it who keeps up with current events to any degree. These people have for years been trying to keep us from profiling them, while they infiltrate government positions, influence politicians to make illegals have citizens’ rights, have drivers licences, build a Muslim Center over the damaged buildings from 9-11. Build hundreds of mosques in this country enabling terrorist activities and/or to recruit terrorists. They have used our system to gain entry and do some major damage. We need backbone in D.

      Me Too – I read all this 18 years ago in the Bible. I have never seen in my lifetime such a huge divide of Good and Evil and Right from Wrong.

      People today are openly thumbing their noses at God and they are doing it with pride. I learn that the Devil was a defeated foe and I could fight him off with the Word of God! I have never read anywhere where you can fight God and get away with it.

      BLACKYB….all that you say I say also, but I add: The great book of Revelation states very clearly that darkness WINS this round, for without evil’s predominance the perpetrators cannot be exposed for what they are. The bad seed was planted along with the good seed, and can’t be culled without damaging the good. Until the seed is grown and mature, the identification cannot be sure. This is a battle between mortals and immortals…we can shed these imperfect bodies and have life, they cannot. Look for religion to be the next progressive weapon aimed at the truth….after all, it is the “false prophet” who causes the WHOLE world to worship the beast.       Kennedy died in Nov. 17, 1963 and that put Lyndon Johnson in charge of the WH. then he drew another term. Johnson was there. A good ol’ boy from Texas who know when some, as he would say, “sumbitch” was shottin’ at him. Johnson was a democrat before the democrats got so hijacked.

      The USS Liberty ship is a classic example of the treachery of the counterfeit state of ‘Israel’. No real American in his/her right mind would support such an entity. I think, though, that we should deport all their paid-pimp US politicians, all these nutty-born-agains and all the other Israel-first suck-ups into Tel Aviv.

      TO ALL OF YOU when it regards the USS Liberty, and other acts of combat fratricide. It’s called The Fog of War. Many people JUST WANT to say that Israel purposely attacked the Liberty. I’ve read multiple accounts of the incident and as horrible as it was especially for the crew of the ship and the families of the dead and wounded, there has just never been a sensible reason given for a intended attack. Thus the old axiom: taking friendly fire ain’t so friendly. All accidental fratricide is just as horrible as all of the traffic accidents that occur annually.

      You are assuming that the Saudis are smart enough and gutsy enough to do it. They have conflicting issues. They must decide whether they hate us (the West and the US in particular) or the Iranians more. Bottom line, in the end, they will vote for the oil dollars that the West supplies them, it‘s all they’ve got to keep them in power. Odd bed fellows. We have all the oil we need here in the USA, we actually have more than we need and the means to access it. Any American citizen needs to ask themselves why our own government strives to keep us from it. It would mean jobs, it would mean independence, not only from the Middle East, but the economic burden of being in debt to China. The Middle East would implode if they couldn’t sell us their oil. If you look at what our own government is doing, you would have to conclude it is not on the side of the American people. This is not a Repub or Democratic issue, this is a national security issue with our own government on the wrong side of the equation. Our public needs to be educated on the stakes, conservatives need to fight back with facts and figures and make the case and force the other side to defend with something other than platitudes. The lame stream media has become an enemy of the United States, by design or default. Doesn’t really matter as long as it is exposed. Americans are waking up, I just hope we are not too late.
