Report: Michele Bachmann’s Entire New Hampshire Staff Quits

Report: Michele Bachmanns Entire New Hampshire Staff QuitsRepublican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann’s entire New Hampshire paid staff has quit, local station WMUR-TV reported Friday.

According to Reuters, the six staffers said their resignations aren’t due to a lack of support for the Minnesota congresswoman, but rather due to her campaign’s perceived lack of focus and commitment in the state ahead of its primary.

One staff member is said to have already come aboard Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s presidential campaign, Fox News reported.

Hours after the report emerged, Bachmann told Iowa Radio it wasn’t true.

“That is a shocking story to me,”  she said. “I don’t know where that came from.  We have called staff in New Hampshire to find out where that came from and the staff have said that isn’t true, so I don’t know if this is just a bad story that’s being fed by a different candidate or campaign. I have no idea where this came from, but we’ve made calls and it’s certainly not true.”

Despite Bachmann’s words to the contrary, various media reports surfaced Friday that the resignations had been confirmed. According to ABC, one staffer said everyone who quit had already received offers from competing campaigns.

Jeff Chidester, who was Bachmann’s New Hampshire campaign director, told the National Journal the staff was planning to release a joint statement formally announcing their departures.

“We are more than a team, we have all bonded over the past few months,” Chidester said. “This is one of the finest group of people I have every had the pleasure of working with. Each one of them is smart, dedicated, and committed to each other.  We have not had an opportunity to talk to each other since the story broke, but once we do, we will release a joint statement.”

Just two weeks ago, Bachmann shuttered her Virginia campaign office, due to what her spokeswoman said was an inconvenient location.

She most recently saw her campaign manager, deputy campaign manager and pollster quit in September and early October.

Bachmann has focused much of her campaign efforts in Iowa, where she won the Ames straw poll in August. She has since fallen behind her fellow candidates in national polls, garnering just 4 percent support among Republicans in an Associated Press/GfK poll released Thursday.

She raised $4.1 million between July and September, far behind Perry and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s $17.2 million and $14.2 million, respectively.

I switched my support to Cain a while ago. In the beginning had high hopes for Bachmann but she seems unable to gain the support she needs.

Yeah, I’m with you. It’s disappointing because she seemed so strong at the beginning. I think it turned for her when she started making less-than-substantive jabs at other opponents. She stopped offering answers and reasoned responses, and instead started doing things like calling attention to what Cain’s 999 plan looks like upside down. The former made her look confident, knowledgeable and unshakeable. The latter makes her look shallow, gimmicky, and desperate.

I don’t know what happened, but she’s not the same candidate that she was when she started. It’s too bad, but at least Cain still seems to be offering something to put our hopes in.

I haven’t supported anyone “from the beginning.” I do think Bachmann has thought things through most specifically–especially with regards to obamacare. The press has given much more attention to Romney and Perry– Ken doll politicians who don’t deserve it. Neither of them have really said anything more specific than Bachmann. Cain deserves his current popularity, but for now I think Gingrich would be strongest in a debate against Obama…. Way too early– I hope Bachmann doesn’t get discouraged.

I am very pro Cain as he is the best of the bunch, but if he doesn’t get local support in NH and other early states, the machine will bury him.

As the story states the 2nd and 3rd place guys have raised over $25 million from the usual sources. Cain has to rely on small donations from you and me- and all the volunteers he can gather.

I think Cain can succeed by doing town halls and still beat the big ad money being thrown about the 2nd and 3rd place candidates, but he will need lots of feet on the ground.

Unfortunately because many like QP Willie think there is nothing wrong with the Federal Reserve and do not believe what Glenn Beck has shown us or what Ron Paul has told us for many years. Many like QP Willie vote for the shiny object with no substance over the normal object with great substance. Those like QP Willie will protest for TEA but then support the guy who worked for the business that takes their money’s value away. That is how stupid most Americans are. He’s the man with the answers, the God-fearing Constitution-loving leader we need, the great debater who will run Oblahblahblah into the ground in a head-on debate even without a teleprompter — and he’s a descendant of American slavery, so the libby left can quit crying that the GOP is a bunch of racists – which is absurd because after all it was the GOP who voted to pass the Civil Rights Act – along with allowing Women the Right to Vote back in the day.

Oh and if Cain is nominated we will lose. Obama will get 100% of the OWS vote and will expose Cain as a big business flip flopping Federal Reserve man. He will expose his 9-9-9 plan and Obama will expose his support of the bailouts of the banks and Wall Street.

If Romney gets nominated we will lose. Obama will get 100% of the OWS vote and will expose all 15 flip flops Romney has had: auto bailouts, abortion, amnesty, TARP, capital gains, etc…Obama will show he is a big business Wall Street man.

If you want Obama as President four more years put Cain and or Romney on the ticket. We will lose. You can wishful think all you want but the writing is on the wall and the left wants nothing more than for the right to put up a flip flopper who supports big business. Think…..It isn’t that hard if you try.

If Cain supported bailouts, as seen on his radio broadcast and his criticism of those protesting such bailouts (TEA), Cain supported giving Obama the money to do as Obama saw fit. If Cain supported them he will again. Then add in the fact Cain worked for global companies and Federal Reserve and he will be seen as a crony to help his buddies out. Then Obama will show his 9-9-9 plan and it is really Game Over for us on the right. Cain will continue the Fed and will bailout those big businesses that fail. You and I he tells us to suck it up. Which bailout? You talking about the one passed on October 3, 2008? Who was president then? Newsflash, it wasn’t OBAMA. He said he supported the bailout, not how it was executed. He has made that clear.

“If Cain supported them he will again.”
Oh really? What does he plan to bail out now? Busting up the convoluted tax code and replacing it with one that is more simple and transparent doesn’t exactly support cronyism or empower any special interest, does it?

I don‘t think she’s got the substance. She’s been in Congress for 5 years. She has claimed to be on the same committee as Barney Frank and then claimed she “opposed his DODD/FRANK Bill”… what? Did she whisper ‘no’ ? MOST OF US (TEA PARTY, WE THE PEOPLE TYPES) sitting in a committee with BARNEY FRANK and he started forcing banks to make sub-prime loans or FORCING THEIR IDEOLOGY on private businesses… I would be raising hell everywhere.

I wonder if these people (like McCain, Bachmann ) know how obnoxious they look talking like a MONDAY MORNING QUARTER BACK about things and how awful it was that these “things” happened!!! Why bother?! WE know it’s all AWFUL…WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?? “Oh well, we saw them walk in the door, pour gasoline and light the match….” duh.
I know I’m not the only one tired of this. BACHMANN needs to fold her tent. SAVE the rest of her money. She does not connect with the Nation…maybe in her STATE…but not nationwide. She isn’t liked by women, not because she’s pretty, but because she is phony. Her last stunt of tricking Donald Trump into a nationwide- telephone conference was the last straw. HE had to say over and over “I’m not endorsing her!”… Fold your tent, go home or back to CONGRESS and stop wasting space in the debates. Another thing that swamped you was the report that your husband was a real clod with people in IOWA… you don’t have it. Leave.

Bush was President and Cain supported them. That makes it even worse! A capitalist does not support bailouts, period. Those that do are called crony-capitalists. Add in now he says it is our fault foreclosures are rampant and jobs have fled and Cain is the definition of a crony. You can’t squirm out of that fact.

You can tell what a man will do by what he has done in the past. His support of too big to fail banks says he would bailout anything else he deems too big to fail.

Actually Cain’s plan would give Union hub Detroit lower taxes rewarding them for running businesses out and those that prospered higher taxes. (Empowered Zones) He also wrote it would give “black Americans” low taxes because he says “blacks” live in less prosperous zones. (empowered zones) So 9-9-9 does play to one group over another and rewards those who ran businesses out with lower taxes over those who worked hard to keep businesses in.

No conspiracy that Cain worked for the Federal Reserve and criticized those wanting an audit and to shut the Federal Reserve down. It’s fact. It is also true Cain worked for Global companies as Coca Cola, Pillsbury, Godfathers and National Restaurant Association.  That is fact. I’m simply showing he has a relationship with these groups. What conspiracy? It is all true.

Bachman lost support because she tried to be all things to all people instead of being a conservative. She back tracked on many statements and stopped being what got her support in the first place. Be what you are. Tell it like it is. So if we do not want to get McCained us Constitutionalists, need to back Cain at this point or accept Romney as “our” nominee and back him. That is your choice if you like Paul, Gingrich, Bachman or Santorum; all of wich would be very good presidents. None of them will beat 28% (ROMNEY) if they divide their Constitutionalist/conservative votes FIVE ways. That is the deal now. Furthermore; good US Liberty loving candidates will need to back the frontrunner Constitutionalist or be responsible for having Romney as the nominee. The ones who stay in to the end and insure Romney’s potential victory will be knowingly participating in his nomination. None of these people are stupid. However we need Huntsman to pour some serious money into his own campaign in NH. That might help Cain?

She was either underprepared or overprepared. Or maybe she is like Perry and just better making a speech to a crowd. I have been having a really hard time deciding who to support. I have supported about half the candidates so far. I guess that is not a bad thing. I like most of them but see some flaws in each so it is hard for me to make up my mind who is the best candidate.

Cain. Romney is capable but the media will smear him with the Mormon thing, creating a huge handicap. Newt is clearly the most creative and knowledgeable candidate and he’s very “fair and balanced” on the issues and regarding the other candidates but he has baggage and, again, the media will make sure everyone knows about it. So…Newt should volunteer to be Cain’s Chief of Staff/Guide/Mentor – to help him avoid the pitfalls of the DC cronyism. Bachman has talent and she‘s a hard worker but she doesn’t have the money – mostly because big donors don’t think she can be bought. She should call it off for now and put her energy behind whoever gets the nomination.

I know “Mormon” quite well and Romney is as good of a Mormon as Harry Reid. I doubt as a Mormon President, Romney would maintain his membership having to join the secret society that all presidents are part of.
Mormons tend to frown on such things.

The media won’t smear Romney for being a Mormon, they’ll simply report whenever some preacher backing one of his opponents does. It shouldn’t be difficult. It will hurt Romney especially in the South, where there are few Mormons but lots of evangelicals. That, and the large number of black primary voters I expect to go for Cain (even if they plan to vote for Obama in November), could keep Republican politics boiling well into spring and maybe right down to the convention.

No one in his right mind, not Cain, not Romney, not anybody, would enlist Gingrich as anything other than a party loyalist who naturally backs his party’s candidate. The Newt has too big an ego to play second fiddle to anybody.

Bachmann might make a good running mate. People would naturally compare her with Palin, but to her advantage, since although somewhat repetitive she at least can construct a simple declarative sentence in the English language.. She made an especially eloquent appeal to women at the end of the last debate.

Drako you are an idiot if you think Bachman can hang with Palin. Palin didn‘t run because freaks like you can’t handle dealing with somebody that has a relationship with God that you don’t have. Or, speaks in a high-pitched voice like Sarah does. I have actually heard people say they hate her and when I ask them to elaborate they say crap like “I can’t stand her voice”. Whiney asses like you that can’t support themselves are terrified of a candidate that advocates personal responsibility. She blows Bachman away. I like Michelle Bachman, but she doesn’t have the “balls” that Sarah Palin or Donald Trump has. It is what it is. At least she says what she means and means what she says and sticks by it.

      Mil-Dot:
Almost all women have higher-pitched voices than almost all men. Palin’s is like nails on a chalkboard, Bachmann’s is far better modulated. So far as I can tell, Bachmann‘s relationship with God is about the same as Palin’s, and she is no less an advocate of personal responsibility. The difference is that Bachmann has actually had some experience in Washington–by no means a liability–and has some sense of syntax, even if she is a little geographically and historically challenged. Romney should obviously go to the right in his choice of a running mate, since he is widely regarded as a crypto-Democrat. A little estrogen on the ticket wouldn’t hurt either. Hence, Bachmann.

Ron Paul is the only true conservative in the bunch backed by a voting record that is 100% inline with the constitution. Unfortunately, the establishment would never allow him to be the nominee either.

If the establishment continues to choose our candidates for us, then I will choose to simply not support them and see how they fare. If Perry or Romney get the nod, I will not vote for them. He made the same joke on Don Imus’ 2006 St. Patrick’s Day show. Romney’s family tree has lots of polygamy and his father was born in Mexico. His opinions change with each poll he receives and he is clearly on record with establishing the same crap socialist medicine scheme on his state that Obama imposed on the nation. And no, it‘s not all right to do ’at the state level’, sorry, and even if it was constitutional there it still shouldn‘t be done and there’s no excusing it.

      @The10thAmendment,

I don’t see Paul having a chance in hell. He does well in the polls, but he’d perform against Obama about as well as Sarah Palin would. He just too polarizing a figure. We need somebody in there that moderates haven’t already made their minds up about. That doesn’t mean putting a moderate on the republican ticket, but it means putting somebody up there that isn’t going to draw a knee-jerk reaction from those of us that aren’t die-hard conservatives.

Herman Cain is new enough that moderates and on-the-fence independents will be intrigued enough to consider him. But Paul has been around too long. Everybody already knows what he’s about, and has had plenty of time to find something they don’t like about his ideas.

Ron Paul is the book everybody has already read, didn’t care for that much, and would prefer to leave on the shelf. Herman Cain is an intriguing new novel with a teaser on the back that’s good enough to make folks want to read. The way I see the current field of candidates, it’s Cain or bust.

I don‘t know what’s happened to Bachmann, but she’s changed. Nobody did this to her. She did it to herself. Her message and her delivery have changed and it wasn’t for the better. She’s become cynical, and we need somebody who can keep pointing us toward a brighter tomorrow, not the bleak today.

If Cain keeps doing what he‘s doing and doesn’t bend to the media or the threats of the left, I think he’s in it for the long haul. He won’t be going away any time soon, so long as he just stays on this course.
