Report: More Than Half of Greek Police Voted Neo Nazi

A newspaper report out of Greece is levying a shocking charge: more than half of Greek police officers voted for the Golden Dawn Party — the Neo-Nazi group — in the country’s recent elections. Or at least that’s how other outlets are interpreting the report. But are they correct?

The financial site Zero Hedge explains:

In a somewhat stunning revelation, especially after our earlier note on the Golden Dawn leader‘s ’position’ on the issues of the day, GreekReporter notes via the news paper To Vima, that more than half of all police officers in Greece voted for pro-Nazi party Golden Dawn in the elections of May 6th. It’s not really for us to judge (well maybe it is) but when some polling stations report Golden Dawn receiving 19-24% of the votes, things are going from the dismal to the horrific (and potentially chaotic) very fast.

AnsaMed has more of the numbers:

More than half of all police officers in Greece voted for pro-Nazi party Chrysi Avgi’ (Golden Dawn) in the elections of May 6. This is the disconcerting result of an analysis carried out by the authoritative newspaper To Vima (TheTribune) in several constituencies in Athens, where 5,000 police officers in service in the Greek capital also cast their ballot.

At some polling stations Chrysi Avgi’ obtained 19 to 24% of votes.

Others, like Agios Panteleimonas and Kypseli, traditional strongholds of the party, reached 15 to 18%. According to the newspaper, at the 11 polling stations (from 806 to 816) located near the police station (Ellas), Chrysi Avgi’ received most votes, reaching 18.64% at station 813 and 23.67% at number 816.

Confused? Russia Today tries to explain how the paper reached its conclusion:

The journalists studied the voting results in several constituencies in Athens, where 5,000 police officers in service in the Greek capital cast their ballots.

At some polling stations, the party obtained a striking 19 to 24 per cent of votes. According to the newspaper, at the 11 polling stations (numbered from 806 to 816) located near the police station Ellas, the neo-Nazis received most votes. The four polling stations located near the riot police station MAT, used by the police, recorded percentages of between 13 and 19.

The newspaper underlines these figures are impressive.

Based on the electoral lists, 550 to 700 people voted at each of these voting stations, of which 20 to 30 per cent were police officers.

The newspaper then calculated that 45 to 59 per cent of police officers voted for Golden Dawn.

So it seems a couple qualifiers might be in order. First, the data is based on a select group of polling stations. And those polling stations are only located in Athens. That leaves an obvious question: Can the data really be applied to all officers in Greece? It wouldn’t seem like it, and that could be chalked up to some nuance being lost in translation. A better conclusion could be that more then half of Greek police officers in Athens might have voted for the Neo-Nazi party. And it should be added there is a fair amount speculation and estimation involved (based on the reports we’ve seen).

But even if the reports are slightly misunderstanding the data, it still stands to reason that (if To Vima’s analysis numbers are correct) some police officers in Greece probably did vote for the neo-Nazi party (i.e. the party received plenty of votes in police-dominated polling stations). And that’s still disturbing.

    Besides the derivatives the bankers who made Greek politicians sign on to is not the Greeks people debt.
    Iceland told them all where to go and, later it was proven the debt wasn’t the people of Iceland debt.
    Besides the very banker who runs Greece now was the guy who audited Greece to be allowed to join the EU, he lied and cooked the books, Greece should had never been part of the EU. Beck get on the ball here.

    Every day that passes in the US..we become more fascist. The more a government controls your daily life and business, the more fascism sets in. One can call it many things but in essence,…it is fascism. Fascism taken to the extreme is communism. Both are socialistic and derive their inner core from socialism. For instance, China calls itself ‘Communist’ but in reality, the way it runs it’s government and businesses, it is fascist. One thing about fascism is it is very nationalistic. It is not for a one world like communism. Fascism is not anti- religious either. So…so far…we are sliding into fascism. Obama wants us to go into communism. Both ‘isms’ need to be out of this country.

      J. Rook is a real piece of work. There’s no point in trying to converse with people like that SDS wannabe. All we can do is hope they choke on Funions or grow some juevos and try to do something about all their anger. There’s some Nazis in Europe. There’s more mujihadeen, little “m.” Greece shares a border and thousands of years of racial hatred with one of the most powerful Islamist countries in the world, Turkey. They better pull their heads out of their a55es or they can expect to get it 4 times as bad as France is about to with their new, socialist frenchy in command.

    It is simply a Nationalist Greece First Party. Like Charles Lindbergh and America First in the 1930′s..

    Sorry they don’t worship at the alter of Globalism, Bolshevism and Democratic Liberalism. Nationalism is rising all thru Europe and that is a great thing for Europe.

    Others may not like it but Europe needs to do what is best for Europe not what the young child USA believes is good for Europe. The best parts of the US are derived from Europe not the other way around.

    There are people out there who do hate you for who you are not just what you do. Whether they hate you for your skin color or religion for being percieved as straight or gay. As the world heads into anarchy I fear for all who would fall into the maddness of hate and vengence. May the end come sooner than later so that maddness ends before we all kill each other.

    It is a sign of stupidity that America forces us to allow muslims into society, yet on the other hand there is not a single muslim communitee or culture that forces or even ALLOWS non-muslims to integrate into their society. Particularly when they hate us, hate our way of life, and have vowed to kill us. This once again proves my point that liberals are the dumbest people on earth and if we let them have free reign, they will eventually get all of us killed including themselves but they are too stupid to see that. Liberals don‘t learn history so they don’t know that history IS repeating. Liberals know nothing about Stalin and Hitler and therefore don’t know they are repeating the same events of the past.

      So they voted for Neo-Nazis? What exactly is a Nazi and what is a Neo-Nazi? Can you please summarize their world view with maybe 10 distinct points or maybe just 5?

      Is it possible that half of the views of this supposedly evil vile and wicked Neo-Nazi group could be acceptable or even good? Is everything which a Nazi and a Neo-Nazi stands for evil? Or is just the intent of the Jewish controlled Press to creat such an aversion to a word that everything associated with it will be hated and despised?

      Well while your plans and efforts have been highly successful I can’t take the bait. For one I’m a thinking individual and I pour over every matter and every detail. While there are certain elements in the Nazi and Neo-Nazi planks I don’t support, I find myself in complete agreement with most of their goals positions and aims.. But I suppose the Jewish Media would have me hate everything about them because just perhaps they challenge their filthy perverted version of a NWO based on Multiculturalism, Diversity, Pluralism and Global currency… Nationalism does stand in the ways doesn’t it? lol If we could only rid the world of these Nationalistic tendencies correct?

Personally, I define a Nazi as anyone who collectively passes judgment based solely on race as to who is good and who is evil, who may live and who must die, etc. In other words, anyone and everyone like you Tech. Are you seriously so blinded by lies and hatred you can’t see that Fascism and Communism are two sides of the same coin? Both are totalitarian systems in which a particular trait, whether it’s race, nationality, religion, or ideology, is deemed desirable and all who lack that trait are to be treated as enemies. Neither allows for free press or any freedom for that matter, both have government unilaterally deciding how people should act and what is “good” for the society, and above all, both are FAR more concerned with the well being of the collective than they are with the well being of the individual.

      Ron Paul should be ashamed to have people like you as supporters. I have no personal issue with Paul or his policies because he stands for the rights of the individual. You have clearly expressed that you don’t care about the individual, only the White Race as a collective. It wouldn’t surprise that if someone you trusted came to you and said that you must die for the preservation of the White Race, that you would allow yourself to be killed. You don’t place any value on individual life at all. That‘s why you’re a Nazi.

You seriously believe that nobody hates anyone for irrational reasons, nor has anybody in the entire history of the world. Do us all a favor and grow up. Didn’t you hear about the Palestinian terrorists that slit the throat of an infant? I‘m pretty sure the infant didn’t do anything that could cause a rational person that much hatred. People don’t always act rationally and never have. Every view you have ever expressed has been based of the false assumption that every single person in history has always acted rationally.       Also, I would venture to believe that the Neo-Nazi party made some wild offers to the police to buy their support.
      A short time after I left our police dept one of the screwiest left wing city councilmen made all kinds of offers to the police if he could get their support. It was like offering lollipops to preschoolers. So many of them fell in lock step behind the councilman. Once re-elected he never lifted a finger to follow through on his promises.

      You really don’t get it do you. Fascism is the European definition of far-right but by American standards is still far-left. Under Communism, National Socialism (Nazis), and Fascism the government has total control over the entirety of the country, its military, economy, education. They’re all the same except for how they choose to use their totalitarian power. All oppress freedom and don’t utilize capitalism. We in the US define left wing as big government and right wing as small government. Where does fascism fit in that scale? In Europe right wing is heavily focused one national and racial supremacy while left wing is extreme equality. That‘s why there’s a contradiction.

    I don’t think this is such a shocking revelation. Is it really a surprise that the police did NOT vote for the party that is pandering to the mobs that have been throwing molotov cocktails, bricks, stones, bottles of urine, and bags of excrement at the police for months?

    I would think that being a constant ‘professional target’ for mindless mob violence would tend to cloud one’s better judgement. I’m sure that when there finally is a sudden and savage police response to the street violence, everyone will act shocked, stunned, and amazed that it occurred.

    I’m just guessing , but when I was in Greece back in the 80′s, the police did not carry guns. Only the higher ranked officers did. I bet it is still the same today. Maybe the cops got tired of hitting idiots with batons…………? I’m 100% Greek, both parents born there, but I was born here. I believe the Greeks are getting exactly what they deserve…..sorry.

    Either history places great leaders in place or leaders are placed in place for lack of leadership….let me explain….when Reagan became President there were like minded people in place of leadership around the world(Thatcher,Khol(germany),the italian president,Japan,so on and so on) Reagan being a strong leader kinda kept rest of the world on the same path and people whether knowingly or not kinda knew….so absence of strong leadership(O’Kenyan) people tend to wander and easily misled. without AMERICA setting the standard or leadership the world can easily be misled….just a thought…..
