Report: Netanyahu ‘Determined to Attack Iran’ Before U.S. Elections

Report: Netanyahu “Determined to Attack Iran

Israel’s Channel 10 News is reporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “determined “ to strike Iranian nuclear facilities this fall, before the November elections in the U.S., and that Israel’s leaders believe the Obama administration will have no choice but to support the Israeli military action.

Asked by the newscast’s anchor “How close are we to a decision and/or an attack?” Military Affairs Correspondent Alon Ben-David said on Monday night, “It appears closer than ever.” He reports [Hebrew link]:

It’s very clear that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is determined to attack Iran before the U.S. elections.

Now, two months after severe sanctions on Iran have not borne fruit, in the prime minister’s opinion, the time for action is getting closer.  It also appears that Netanyahu does not expect to have a meeting with Obama at the end of next month at the UN – and it’s unclear if it will take place. I doubt if there is any statement Obama can make that will convince Netanyahu to delay the possible attack.

In interviews that both he and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, it seems they believe that the US president will have to give backing for an Israeli attack before the elections, even though Joint Chiefs Chairman Martin Dempsey said this morning that the U.S. is not obligated to give support to an Israeli strike.

Within Israel there is significant disagreement over how to best handle Iran’s determined efforts toward becoming a nuclear power. Just last week, Israel’s President Shimon Peres was slammed by officials in the prime minister’s office and by Likud Members of Knesset for saying in a television interview that Israel cannot strike Iran on its own. Ben-David maps out the extensive list of those who disagree with Netanyahu’s strategy:

It’s true that opposite Netanyahu stands an impressive line of those opposing – from the [Israeli] President [Shimon Peres], to the [IDF] chief of staff and generals, heads of intelligence, opposition leader [Shaul] Mofaz, and of course the Americans, but the one that will decide in the end will be the cabinet, and there it seems a Netanyahu majority for an attack is almost guaranteed.

Another sign perhaps signaling imminent action: on Monday, Israel’s National Security Adviser Ya’akov Amidror met with one of the country’s leading spiritual figures, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef in order to brief him on the latest developments regarding Iran. Ynet cites a story on the ultra-Orthodox website Kikar Hashabat:

Political sources said that it is likely that the meeting was part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s efforts to rally ministers’ support in the event that the government will need to vote on an independent strike against the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities.

The paper reports that Shas, the religious political party for which Rabbi Yosef is a spiritual guide, also disagrees with Netanyahu about striking Iran unilaterally, “Nevertheless, should Rabbi Yosef declare his support for such a move, his decree will spell a shift in the party’s decision.”

For Netanyahu, the historic significance of Iran’s nuclear efforts cannot be underestimated. In the past, the prime minister has compared the Iranian threat to the Holocaust due to the genocidal statements of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iran’s religious leaders and the efforts to acquire the means by which to carry out those threats.

Here is the report from Israel’s Channel 10 [Hebrew report]:

Politically, I don’t know which way it would work. If 0bama helped Israel, he would have problems with several groups who are working hard to get him reelected. The anti-war liberals, the Paulbots, the anti-Israel liberals, etc. might be less enthusiastic if he did anything to help Israel.

Who is really the liberal here though?:

“Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few.”

War means more debt and war means more taxes (which is obviously something that you wish for every day, qpwillie).

After watching rumors of war 3 It seems most likely if Israel attacks before the election terrorist already here would strike all sites they have selected. This would allow B.H.O. to throw down Marshal law and postpone election. At that point I beleave he would change the whole process while we are dealing with the civil unrest. My old man used to tell me “ incompetence surrounds me and mayhem run amuck ” now I’m starting to understand what he was talking about.

How was Hitler invading Poland in any way preemptive? Poland had to meet the Nazi tanks with cavalry divisions. Moreover the Nazis didn’t attack Poland in response to a threat, they invaded and forcibly occupied the country just as they previously had done to Czechoslovakia. They systematically murdered almost six million Polish citizens. And when they had taken the country, they then proceeded to invade Denmark, Greece, the Baltic states, Italy, Russia, and even areas of North Africa. Hitler wasn’t about preemption, he was about conquest. Hitler believed that only the supreme Aryan race had the right to rule over all other races. If anyone is his reincarnation it is Ahmadinejad, who, much like Hitler, dreams of ruling the entire Middle East. With Iraq and Saddam no longer an obstacle he now thinks he can succeed. The Saudis actually opposed the US deposing of Saddam because they knew that he was the only one keeping Iran in check.

We could choose a future where Liberty and the US Constitution reigns supreme but you must not allow yourself to be used.. I beg and plead with you America please wake up and understand that while noble is may sound you are not protecting or helping littel ole defenseless Israel but you are indeed being strong armed.. It should be noted that Aryan and Iranian mean the same thing. Iran was Persia, but Persia loved the German Nazi’s so much they went and changed the name of the country. Now, a land named after the Aryan race seeks nukes and people say Israel is the home of the next Hitler? Your knowledge of history is pitifully lacking and your hunger for ignorance is insatiable. That is the only way to describe such a profoundly moronic illogical statement.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aryan#In_Iranian_literature
The name Iran, Iranian is itself equivalent to Aryan, where Iran means “land of the Aryans,”[6][13][13][15][23][24][25][26] and has been in use since Sassanid times[24][25

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran
The name "Iran", which in Persian means "Land of the Aryans", has been in use natively since the Sassanian era. It came into use internationally in 1935, before which the country was known to the Western world as Persia ( /ˈpɜrʒə/ or /ˈpɜrʃə/).[11][15] Both “Persia” and “Iran” are used interchangeably in cultural contexts; however, “Iran” is the name used officially in political contexts.[16][17]

If you lookup the Ministry of Public Security of Poland (UB), you know, the organization that was responsible for rounding up the Polish Underground/Armia Krajowa (AK) and murdering them. Then you would find that each department was headed by Polish communist Jews.

So because I don‘t mention Versailles in a 1500 character comment when the treaty itself is irrelevant to the point I’m trying to make means I’m somehow trying to ignore it? And what exactly are you implying? Don’t talk in circles like a cowardly liberal. How exactly did “my people” benefit from Versailles. That treaty was done by the European powers who felt that, as the victors, they deserved the spoils. I had nothing to do with that and neither did anyone I know. Nor for that matter did anyone related to anyone I know. In fact, half my family was LIVING IN GERMANY at the time, so if anything the treaty actually made life harder for them.

But of course that doesn’t matter to a collectivist like yourself. To you people aren’t individuals responsible for their own actions. You don’t even see yourself as an individual. Your so entrenched in collectivism that you actually believe that the way you see the world is the way all “Caucasians” (which in your dictionary excludes Jews, atheists, etc.) see the world. Fact is tech, those “Caucasian thoughts” you’re always going on about, that’s just what you yourself believe. Oh sure their are those who might agree with you on some points, particularly since you get all your opinions from Duke, but in the end it is simply your own view. So don’t pretend you speak for an entire race; you speak only for yourself and your twisted anti-American views.

So you are basically stating that Polish Jews applauded Marxist subjugation and were eager to round up local nationalist and have them murdered therefore the backlash against the Jews inside of Poland was not only normal but justified?

      I concurr 100%.

tzion: Throughout the ages my people have lived independently of the Jew and that’s just natural. Today the Jew has twisted the minds of many of my people through the use of their Media and perverted propaganda.. Our people will eventually awaken. Everyone is becoming sickened of what the Jews have done in America and throughout history..

Versailles was primarily made up of Jews.. The fact was not lost upon Hitler and the Germans.

Out of curiosity since you mention your family was from Germany and I recall you saying that before.. Why was Jewry initially on the side of Germany at the outbreak of WW1 only to switch sides later on? Was Milton Friedmon who addressed this to the disamay of his fellow Jews?

Maybe you can answer honestly if that is even possible for your kind.

“Throughout the ages my people have lived independently of Jew.” I’m sorry but when did that ever happen? There were even Jews living in Rome 2000 years ago. The only time “your people” (a term you have yet to define in a way that can be historically traced) lived independently of Jews was when they decided to expel or murder the local Jews.

As for Versailles being primarily made up of Jews, I can’t find one source that backs up that argument and you of course never bother to provide one. Every source I’ve been able to find lists the major players as being the heads of state for the US, Britain, France, and a few others.

As for Jews supporting Germany and then switching sides, I honestly have no clue what you’re even referring to. On what basis do you even make that argument? Did you find one Jew supporting Germany and another supporting France? Why is it that you always assume that all Jews simultaneously decide to support the same thing? If there‘s one thing that’s always been true of Jews it’s that we rarely agree on anything. Even the Talmud itself is less a book of laws and regulations and more a collection of arguments, discussions, and disagreements.

Strike Iran sites in October by Israel?

    -could benefit the Dems
    -could benefit the Repubs
    -could hurt the Dems
    -could hurt the Repubs

most importantly, it really doesnt matter to Israel who it helps or hurts NOW, this is a nation which must make hard choices based on intel which threatens its existence. An Iranian air strike would be
swift, brutal, accurate, with regard to innocent life, a manner foreign to its enemies, who kill anybody anywhere anytime.

Mr Netanyahu will do right; how long has he shown restraint to he who voices endless threats? When it hits the fan, he will have AMerican support, and my guess: Romney and friends will express a good voice of leadership which should further ignite his base, while Obama and group will look for ways to promote his own good. Will be a strange November. But, GOd bless Israel.

I doubt it. Netanyahu is a hawk, and as crazy as his counterparts in Iran. I believe his people will suffer from his decisions. I think we all will suffer because I don‘t believe they’ll bomb the nuclear facilities and it will be over. I think Iranian missiles will rain down on our bases in the area and Israel. The strait will be closed drawing us into the conflict. The Palestinians will revolt while the Israelis are in their bomb shelters and Egypt will probably attack Israel too. If we’re drawn in, Russian and China will be too, and considering Russia just had a sub in the Gulf of Mexico, I‘m guessing we’ll be hit on the mainland. All this for a mistranslation and Iranians maybe will built a nuke some day. Makes no sense to me.

24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

And 18% won’t vote for him because he is a Mormon, and most of those are Fundamentalist Christians. I try to catch all the reports on where Iran is on their nuke program…they vary wildly as to if they are within 2 years or 10 years.

I see no reason for the US elections to have anything to do with the timing of the Israeli attack.

Now, if things were reversed –us having a pro-Israeli president in the Whitehouse looking at a possible loss to a socialist like Obama– then I could see wanting to strike while your support was still virtually assured.

    I can only guess, that:
    A) Bebe is tired of cowardly Obama, knows he won‘t act and is trying to insure he won’t have a 2nd term.

    or

    B) Obama has signaled behind the scenes that he will provide all the support needed if the attack comes before the elections…assuring a win for Obama, as nobody liikes to remove a sitting president during wartime.

But I really see no reason to time the attack around our elections at all.

Israel is using the one and only logic they can to defend their very right to exist on this anti-semetic world of islam slaves. First and foremost Barry Obama is a lying, two faced, anti-Israel, Marxist, America-hating, untrustworthy, venomous piece of crap who wants to destroy anything that represents pro-Israel or pro-American sentiment on this planet. (and those are his good qualities-the cadamite goes down hill from there). Why should Israel trust American’s ability to use their brains(?) to begin with. After all they did elect ilk like Obama and the first black president Clinton. How can Israel trust that a nation that damn stupid won’t do it again? Like the man said: It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings and the liberal, jihad loving democrats have a whole gaggle of big fat ladies to sing (the Surgeon General for starters).

I have zero faith the Obama administration will support Israel’s military action. I believe the American people will always support Israel.

Why are they reporting about striking Iran so openly? Wouldn’t you want your attack to be more of a surprise invasion? I mean geesh, they might as well tell them the month and day so the Iranians can be fully prepared when it does happen.

      GOOD QUESTION.
      Maybe it’s ANOTHER WH LEAK giving Iran a ” head’s up. :)
Especially, since we know how “ The Spoiler” in the WH operates.

Israel’s strike will be from the air. If you’ve seen the movie “BlackHawk Down” you’ll know that anytime a significant force takes off, it is relayed in seconds by spies.

Iran’s defenses are undoubtedly already prepared…all they need is time to wake their manpower, scramble interceptor jets, notify their friends in other country’s and their retaliation forces in remote areas.

They could keep quiet or send a singing telegram…either way, there’ll be little surprise to the attack.

Everyone knows that it could happen any day and If the average person in the street already knows the Iranians also know. This little announcement gives me the heads up that it might be a good time to stock up on some food and maybe get some water containers ready. Truth be told I think the repercussions from the attack will be no big deal.

FIrst. the flight time to Iran is not very long. second mid air refueling could allow then to slowly marshal in remote air. once marshaled the attack could begin.
the Israeli air force is actually better then ours. there pilots have more experience and are extremely efficient. they would wipe the floor with anything iran has in the air.

sam sites are a worry but there are ways to deal with them.
likely it would be a small attack force flying low to avoid radar. intel on the ground would pinpoint the target and boom. Iran and others would then have the choice to retaliate or not.
my worry would be that this would further unite the M’s.
however Israel has faced a four sided attack before and beaten them badly.
the M’s technologies have not improved much from that time. but i think it would be wise to expel them from the mother land as suicide bombers would then be a problem.

God save Israel! and good luck!

      @KNITEHAWK

When I was in the Navy, if you asked our fighter pilots which country’s pilots would they not want to face in a dogfight, they would always say the IAF.

      @ BPODLESNIK:

I’ve been thinking the same thing. So much for a coup de main! Unless…… Unless, up is down and down is up.

My ‘theory’ is, we‘ll experience another Pearl or Vietnam situation where it’s not Israel, but the USA who is provoked and has to strike Iran. USA, USA, USA lol That way, Israel can protect its borders.

Hmmm, with all this Jew baiting, I think I’m in the mood for a pastrami on Jewish-rye, with American cheese, a kosher half-sour pickle and mustard. Later guys!

Bibi, please! Wait till after the election. Don’t give BHO anything he can use as a campaign tool; that to make a change in leadership here, would be dangerous. These Alynskites know how to exploit chaos.

So the very existence of their country is at hand, and you want them to wait just so Obama can’t use this as campaign strategy? Seriously?

Turn this around: they want to use our election (and our country) as a trump card for a war that they themselves will start. You think we should support that? Seriously?

Yes, good point. Bumpy may be an understatement as the Jihad will come flying out from hiding in their rat holes and attempt to excise Infidels everywhere and anywhere and by any means.
