Report: North Korean Children Forced to Beg as Army Running Out of Food

Communist-controlled North Korea is supposed to be one of the world’s happiest countries. It ranked itself the second happiest in a survey released earlier this month. But an Australian news outlet has obtained exclusive footage showing that North Korea may be closer to hell than happy.

The footage obtained by Australian outlet ABC was smuggled out of the country by an undercover Korean journalist. It shows children who are forced to beg for food, and how even Army soldiers are now losing rations due to food shortages.

Watch a brief excerpt of the footage starting at about 25 seconds below:

“Everybody is weak,” one young North Korean soldier told the undercover journalist. “Within my troop of 100 comrades, half of them are malnourished.”

Additionally, the footage shows how the shortage of food has relegated many children to beggars, some as young as 8-years-old:

The video shows young children caked in filth begging in markets, pleading for scraps from compatriots who have nothing Report: North Korean Children Forced to Beg as Army Running Out of Foodto give.

“I am eight,” says one boy. “My father died and my mother left me. I sleep outdoors.”

Many of the children are orphans; their parents victims of starvation or the gulag.

But markets do exist – private markets that stock bags of rice, pork, and corn. The state no longer has any rations to hand out.

“This footage is important because it shows that Kim Jong-il’s regime is growing weak,” Jiro Ishimaru, the man who trained the undercover reporter to use the hidden camera, told ABC.

“It used to put the military first, but now it can’t even supply food to its soldiers. Rice is being sold in markets but they are starving. This is the most significant thing in this video.”

From the last pictures i seen, doesn’t look like Kim ll nor his family is loosing much weight. Probably still flying in crab and other delights daily using our tax dollars that was given to the great UN. What a great use of our money! We should bail out of the whole UN thing. How much do you think that would help our debt?

I understand that there are thousands (I pray not millions) of children in AMERICA that are starving in the streets, abused or just plain not wanted because of dead-beat parents, not being able to support them or what have you, but it just makes me want to go back to Korea, sneak along the border in the middle of the night Black-Ops style, try not to trip any land mines, try not to get shot by either side and bring back all the children on the streets and bring them home to AMERICA. I hope one day to adopt a less fortunate child along with my other children and raise them to love AMERICA and everything that it stands for. To tell them that you’ll never have to go hungry again if you work hard and make the effort to support yourself or your family and that if you have a dream the only person in your way is yourself. I’m sorry, but if I see any child in a dire situation, I see my childs face and that gets me a little emotional. No child should have to STARVE to death in the streets. D@#n Commies!!!

What kind of leadership will let it’s children beg for food while continuing to build its military might. The Korean people must revolt in order to change this policy. They have enough money to feed their people if they would just stop building missiles and tanks. Enjoy your day, America.

The two things the north does have is plenty of ammunition and the support of red China. Starvation, weapons and an egomaniac running the country can only lead to an attempted assault on the south. China will support it and our administration will turn a blind eye in the interest of “world peace”.
If communism is so great, why isn’t communist China sharing their food supplies equally with North Korea? Oh I forgot, communism means other people have to give things up, not you.

How many examples of failed socialist states does the world require before it will acknowledge the simple fact that unless man is free to aspire and receive the rewards for hard work, that starvation is the result?

The 20′s under Soviet socialists saw thousands of Americans donate food to feed starving Russians after private farms were seized by the state. Where is the press reporting any of these examples?

The bottom line is that leftists always demand “their fair share”, which they do not understand is exactly ZERO (0) if they have not worked for it. The state cannot replace charity – sooner or later the left runs out of other peoples’ money – just as Prime Minister Thatcher once said.

That’s an exceptional question LKETCHUM, but I can’t answer it, you see I’m conservative. I would suggest you ask some of the socialism advocates or perhaps some of the admitted communists who are living and enjoying a pretty good life in this country. There are a couple, at least on MSNBC, you know those guys that are the great Obama supporters, or maybe you could contact Van Jones for a communist consultant. Another good source would be the czars in the Obama administration, should be able to find about thirty or so there. In any case it seems to be easier and easier lately to find them. But I bet you could get an answer in any of those places!

It frustrates me to no end how people on the left continually mess stuff up, leaving the cleanup to the those of us on the right – and nobody on the left is ever really held accountable. Take North Korea – the regime has failed, meaning “whatever” ism has once again FAILED, but nobody will really focus on that aspect. Instead it will be all about helping the country “mend”.

Indeed, it is about as grand as the most unholy living nightmare made into reality that you wish to imagine and then taken 100 orders of magnitude beyond that. Anyone want to figure how soon we may hear of a ‘revolution’ going on in the North of Korea?

People can only be pressed into the ground and the corner for so long of time, until they decide they have nothing more to lose by revolution and will strike out.

These pictures are the future for most of America if the progressives agenda reaches fruition and they have total control in the land.

They are deeply in bed with their neighbors (China), however.
If China doesn’t man up and help their neighbors, China is simply not a good world citizen, regarless of their politics.
Hopefully N Korea will begin to open up to the west and accept charity, and begin a dialogue along with that. Hopefully ‘junior’ will be VERY aware his people are starving and hopefully he will be made aware of any charity they receive. Senior will never open his country, I feel.

@ fast facts, due to the regualtions on the production of food and the prices set by the government, we already do generally run a surplus of food that gets sent to other countries regularly. The only problem with this type of charity though, is that it squelches any chance for agriculture in the affected area to make a profit. They can’t compete with free food from us, and they go under. This leads to an endless cycle of dependance and the end result is that we still end up supporting the world with our money.

That said, there is a charity that takes donation from private citizens and corportations, which it then uses to buy food from the areas that are distressed, and feeds the needy with the food sourced locally. This means that our farms don’t have to produce more for continual charity, their farms become profitable and create the stable base for a recovering economy, and people stop starving. Now that is a charity that I could donate to. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of it and now I’m gonna have to go search for it.

PS, don’t use google, or any other company whose motto is don’t be evil. They have to be up to something.

I spent 6 years in Korea wjile in the arm in the 70‘s and 80’s.
The Kim dynasty in North Korea will drive south for food and resources long before they face the loss of power.
They will create some kind of crisis, blame the south or the U.S. and launch an invasion across the D.M.Z.
They attempt to destroy the economy of South Korea; and rape the land for anything useful.
They will kill thousands of American troops, tens of thousands of Korean troops, and hundreds of thousands of civilians.
Politicians, teachers, clergy, doctors, lawyers, will all be murdered.
      Nukes will not be used.
The Chinese will come in to play and prevent us from deploying a full military response.
and in a few years,…both South Korea AND North Korea will be starving.

I didn’t see any evidence to support the allegation in the headline. This is more yellow journalism. I saw a shaky video, a frostbitten face of a child, and some people walking around. I saw no video of children begging for food in the street. Maybe they were, but that was not in this video. The narration and the video were so wildly different in their content, it was donwright propoganda. NK may be the mist abusive regime on Earth, but unless the headline said, “NK Child with severe frostbite on face tries to keep warm with lightweight quilted jacket” this headline is totally misleading reverse propoganda. Keep it real, Blaze, or you will look just as slanted as the MSM. Well, you already do, but at least have accuracy in reporting a story with an accurate, corresponding headline. That’s what the people really want. At least I do.
