Report: Obamas Reserve TV Cameos for Top Donors

Ahead of President Barack Obama’s planned introduction of “To Kill a Mockingbird” on USA Network Saturday night, the Washington Free Beacon has polled the first family’s cameo TV appearances — and found the majority of them seem to go to networks owned by major donors.

USA Network is owned by NBC Universal, whose show “The Biggest Loser” saw a special appearance by Michelle Obama this past week. Michelle Obama has also appeared on (NBC-owned) Bravo’s “Top Chef” and had multiple guest stints on NBC late-night shows hosted by Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon.

NBC’s two parent companies are Comcast and General Electric, both with close ties to the Obama administration, the Beacon points out:

Obama named GE chief executive Jeffrey Immelt to his Council on Jobs and Competitiveness in January 2011. He enjoys an even friendlier relationship with Comcast executive vice president David Cohen, a former lobbyist.

Cohen has emerged as a prolific fundraiser for Obama in 2012, raising at least $1.2 million for the president after hosting a $10,000 per head fundraiser at his Philadelphia home. He has contributed $224,850 to liberal groups and candidates since 2007, including a $2,300 donation to Obama in 2008.

Comcast has followed suit, flooding Democrats and Obama with money since 2008, donating $2.3 million to Democrats. That is $300,000 more than it gave to Republicans.

It’s not just NBC: The Beacon reports Michelle Obama has made a “slew” of appearances on Viacom-controlled companies, including Comedy Central and Nickelodeon. One of her Nickelodeon appearances was on the children’s show “iCarly,” where she showed off some dance moves, and at the Kid’s Choice Awards last week.

Viacom employees have reportedly donated more than $115,000 to Obama since 2008.

Michelle Obama will cap her two-episode arc on “The Biggest Loser” Tuesday and follow it up with an appearance on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” Wednesday.

      No kidding! She blatently uses the White House like a high school gymnasium, sometime earlier running sack races down a WH room, thump, kerthump, ker-bang! All for the sake of physical fitness, my big fat English bottom! Rent some space somewhere! Or is it an up-your-nose act, ya think?

    Are you ready for 4 more years of Obama? A Republican candidate will have to win by 65-70% just to swing over the voter fraud. You know, that voter fraud that George Soros likes to use when he provokes an election crisis in every country he takes down. Our piddly pathetic excuse for a Republican party can’t even put a worthwhile candidate in the race so are we ready or not?

    It‘s almost gotten to where you can’t watch anything on TV anymore without seeing one or the other of the Obama’s. Every time one of them comes on the screen, which is almost daily, I turn the channel. If this keeps up I will have to cancel my satelite service. Vote Obama out in November!!

      I haven’t had a tv since about 1997, and I am much happier for it.
      (O‘course when I walk into a store that has tv’s blaring, or have to sit in a Dr’s office that plays tv, I am shocked by what I see… My Goodness! We have devolved as a society!

    I believe that the networks are all working for the Obama administration. I am not surprised at all. Mr Obama told us what he was going to do before the election and not many people believed him. Well, he is very inteligent and is doing exsactly what he said he would do Spead the wealth at the cost of the american people. I pray that he doesn’t win the next election for the sake of our country.

      Well!. Was planning to watch the movie, but after I heard about the special introduction, I’ve decided to skip it and watch Huckabee instead. Oh well, I read the book and movies are never as good as the book. I never go out of my way to listen to made up stories and lies and distortions to get pre-election notice.

    Is there no escape from politics????

    Having the wife of a President prance around on various TV programs flexing her muscles and shaking her booty is a sign of desperation.

    Why do Democrats exploit their wives like trophies? They profess to like women … yet they treat them like objects. Their focus is always about a woman’s physical appearance rather than their character and intellect. (I guess it kinda goes along with their ‘means to an end’ philosophy)

    So sick of seeing Ms O and Mr O…makes me so sick to my stomach. I have never missed an episode of biggest loser but not, I will never watch it again. There is no need for polictics….and any other TV show that has a political agenda that is not paid for by the canidate, I will not watch or buy….
