Two Occupy Wall Street protesters, one a key leader of the movement, stayed at a swanky, $700-per-night New York City hotel while their fellow protesters camped out in Zuccotti Park, the New York Post reported.
Peter Dutro, a member of Occupy Wall Street’s finance committee, and Brad Spitzer, a California-based analyst who attended demonstrations during a business trip, both stayed in the W New York Downtown Hotel last week, with Spitzer reportedly opening his room up to other protesters as well.
According to its website, the W calls itself “the ultimate urban extravagance” with a state-of the-art entertainment system and 350-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, goose-down comforters and pillows. It even invites guests to unleash their “inner Gordon Gekko” in the fitness center, a reference to Michael Douglas’ character in “Wall Street.”

California businessman Brad Spitzer reportedly checked into a $700-a-night room after demonstrating in Zuccotti Park last week. (Image source: New York Post)
The Post reported:
“Tents are not for me,” [Spitzer] confessed, when confronted in the sleek black lobby of the Washington Street hotel where sources described him as a “repeat” guest.
Spitzer, 24, an associate at financial-services giant Deloitte, which netted $29 billion in revenue last year, admitted he joined the protest at Zuccotti Park several times.
“I’m staying here for work,” said Spitzer, dressed down in a company T-shirt and holding a backpack and his suitcase. “I do finance, but I support it still.”
Hotel sources told the Post Spitzer brought other Occupy participants to the hotel room and ordered a roll-out bed for his guests.

“He’s here all the time,” a source said. “We all see him at the protest.”
Spitzer denied hosting protesters and said he only invited a blogger friend of his up so he could clean up after spending time at the camp.
Dutro, 35, reportedly checked in Wednesday night after police cleared the park, despite living nearby in Brooklyn.
According to the Post:
[Dutro] said he spent $500 of his own money to get the room because he wanted a good night’s rest ahead of the cause’s two-month ceremony the next day and raucous post-raid protests.
Peter Dutro, a member of Occupy Wall Street's finance committee, also reportedly stayed at the swanky hotel. (Image source: New York Post)
“I knew . . . there was a high probability of getting arrested,” he said. “I wanted a nice room. That’s OK. Not everybody there is dirt poor.”
He paid for the palace with his American Express card.
“It is an expensive hotel. Whatever,” he said.
He told the newspaper he chose the hotel for convenience, not luxury, saying he’s “not in the business of throwing money away” and that it was “the only room I could find.”
He also said he did his part to take care of his fellow protesters in less-fancy accommodations.
“I took food to all those churches,” he said. “I got them cigarettes.”

Democrats, Socialists, Marxists, Communists, nobody followers, idiots and fools..that’s the roster. Tea party people generally have high morals, values, principals and believe in more freedom and less government. Only ANTI-Americans (see listing above) put down Tea Party beliefs. We‘ll see who gets ’put down’ next year.

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 2:41pm“All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.”- Napoleon the pig from George Orwells’ Animal Farm, Chapter 10. In typical socialist fashion, young Mr. Dotro, finance committee member, has set himself above other members of the movement by his actions. Perhaps by virtue of his position in the movement he deems himself more important thereby rejecting the notion of a classless society setting himself apart as a member of the “ruling” class. When ,in effect, the very nature of the movement itself is inseperable from from the socialist economic system which is designed to eliminate the hierarchy in the management of political and economic affairs, hence a “classless society”. My suggestion for all “open minded” ( an oxymoron to be sure) liberals inclined to sympathize with this perverted movement is to read George Orwells’ novella “Animal Farm”. You may even become enlightened

Our little caravan started out to be 7 SUV’s descending on Washington, DC for the 8-28 Rally. By the time we got to Philadelphia, Pa there were 42 SUV’s, a touring bus, several cars, and 30 Motorcycle Club members who were up from Texas. There were White folks, Black folks, Asians, Hispanics, young, middle age, and some a little older. We didn’t have to worry about someone stealing, anyone getting molested, or fights breaking out. One of my nephews was fascinated with the motorcycles but was a little hesitant because the guys were not only White, but they flew their colors and looked pretty rough around the edges. By nightfall he was riding with a guy that looked like he could uproot tree’s by grabbing it and pulling, and after the rally cried because he couldn’t ride down to Florida with them.
I gave a speech just outside of Ft Leavenworth and 4 of the guys from our caravan to 8-28 came up for support. One of them was the biker who let my nephew ride into DC with him. Now my nephew has his very own Colors that reads, “Outlaws, MC honorary member”. In their Chapter he’s the first Black member! My brother who’s rotating back from Afghanistan wants to kill me for letting him on a motorcycle, but man does he have a party waiting his touchdown in Atlanta!
8-28 made good friends for life. I’m doubting any of these occupy mobs have anything resembling that in lasting effects.

When given a socialistic society, there is nothing stopping the dominion-type personalities from exercising dominion over the pack-type personalities. It is unavoidable without the rule of law and the freedom of societally-constructive behavior i.e. a republic based upon free market capitalism. Not phony-baloney socialism-capitalism or crony capitalism, but the real thing. It is a fascinating look at the human condition; I hope somebody publishes a study on it.

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 12:48pmIs that not the tactic? Tax the “rich”, money goes to Treasury, Progs in DC take money from Treasury and funnel it to organizers/leaders/unions, supporters and family. Lots of money to be had convincing middle class they are being cheated.

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 12:44pmThese are the Benefactors of them donations made to OWS. They are skimming money out of it which in it’s own way gives the protestors a dose of their own medicine. They are getting something for nothing. Can’t wait to read more about them in the OWS HISTORY BOOK coming out in January.

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 12:41pmDoes this really surprise anyone? How on earth did anyone think that every last one of these little protesters were really all about the message that they are trying to pretend they have?
The question that I have – did any of the money that was used to pay for these rooms, come from the donations made to the Occupy Wall Street movement? That would be an investigation that I would love to read about…
By the way – we have decided it was time to “Occupy The Truth”… stop by our facebook community at http://www.facebook.com/occupythetruth and let us know your thoughts!

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 12:41pmSee this is finally going to come out. This occupy bullsh$$ is all so idiots like that dude and I‘d bet Soro’s and Michael Moore and of course our congress can short sell the stock market.
Short selling is selling the stocks to someone at a higher price so that they can be bought back at a lower price. For example
I short sell 1 share of XYZ stock for $50 to you
I never owned that stock so if it goes up. I lose money. But if the stock market falls, I make money. So if they can collapse the stock market and I buy that stock for $25 I’ve doubled my money. Basically this is appears to be an easy way for the current adminsitration to make money for themselves and their friends. Collapse the market and buy it all back at a low price.

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 12:40pmSO………, is he protesting against the firm that pays him well enough to afford 500$ hotel rooms? Or is he just slumming around? Hypocrite! My guess is slumming. I wonder how long he will have his job when his boss finds out he is at these protests. If he worked for me……well, you can guess.

Posted on November 20, 2011 at 12:36pmAs a member of OWS finance committee I would take bets he expects OWS to repay his ‘expenses’ out of their accounts. I am sure if he had not been cought so openly he would have already submitted these expenses for reimbursement from those OWS accounts. They need that money for something.. why not pay for expensive hotel rooms for the OWS elite.
