Report: Soros Calls Beck a Throwback to Wild and Crazy Radical Elements

Liberal billionaire financier George Soros referenced the book “1984” while predicting Tuesday night that America’s “open society“ could ”be on the verge of some dictatorial democracy,” all before turning his sights on Glenn Beck and calling him a throwback to wild and crazy radical elements.

The comments were made to CNN newsman Fareed Zakaria at an International Crisis Center dinner honoring Soros.

According to an account of the dinner by Forbes writer Robet Lenzner, Soros used the popular anti-communist book “1984” to chide Americans for fantasizing unrealistically about their political system. Lenzner, however, didn’t expound on the issue, writing only that Soros mentioned the book “as a possible precedent for the kind of fantasies being promulgated in our culture today.”

Lenzner does explain, however, that Soros took time to bash Fox News and Glenn Beck.

“Soros was especially bitter and harshly critical of the rolke [sic] played in our political discourse by the Fox News Channel,” he writes. Soros reportedly described Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. “as a very dangerous precedent for the ‘open society’ that has prevailed in the U.S. for 200 years.”

He then set his sights on Beck. In a paraphrase of Soros’s comments, Lenzner writes that Soros called Beck “a throwback to the wild and crazy radical elements that never before were given such a public pedestal to foment their hate.” Unafraid to show his stance, Lenzner calls Beck’s recent characterization of Soros as a puppet master trying to bring about the collapse of the U.S. financial and political system as “falsely vilifying Soros publicly.”

“Beck has been trying to stir up public hatred of Soros,” Lenzner concludes.

The dinner was attended by a who’s who of upper society. Former President Bill Clinton, Lord Christopher Patten, Chancellor of Oxford University, and hedge fund multibillionaire Paul Tudor Jones spoke highly of Soros at the event. Other attendees, according to Lenzner, included “many financiers, mutual fund managers, and former diplomats like Thomas Pickering and John Whitehead.”

      To Firm reliance.Thank you for that thought on Glen’s religion.I for one beleive in tolerance of all faith’s and that there is no room for bigotry in this world as we have far too much other things to worry about. As a Christian I have always tried to have faith in God and my fellow man,Iam however struggling with the latter.
      What ever religion a man chooses to follow is his bussiness and as long as people don‘t try to force some strange beleif on me I’m down with that but for someone to condemn a man for his religious beleif I have a real difficulty with.As for Glenn,God bless him and keep him and his family safe.

      @Triquad…I don’t have any faith in man…only in God. Man will let you down all the time. While I am tolerant of others faith, we as Christians are supposed to proclaim the Word of God and if someone doesn’t want to listen then we move on. Always respectful…..

    Folks IF WE LOSE [ are even start to lose } the likes of Beck – Rush – or yes even Fox – we will be in trouble beyond the ablilty for our ‘ votes ’ to matter.
    Can I strongly encourage some thoughts of ‘ banding together in groups ’ for self protection.
    If the FCC does become completely in charge of these airwaves – then those that seek to shut up the likes of those aforementioned WILL be coming after those of us that have the same beliefs — And yes THEY DO know who we are.

      What you say makes sense. I read everything here, but I don’t post much because people are already saying what I would say, and y’all do a much better job of it. So…..what do we need to do?

      I would like to mention Glenn’s religeon. I firmly believe that believers from every demomination will wake up in Heaven one day, and find out that they were wrong about so many things, that in the end, never really mattered. My Holy Bible says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” There is not one place in the Bible that states what church to go to. All the things Mormans believe, though different than non-Mormans beliefs, are just that…..differences. However, if Glenn has given his heart and life to Christ…..and only Glenn can know that….then he is a Christian. Remember….you’ll know them by their fruits….not their church affiliation. Okay…I’ll get off my soapbox now. : )

    If Soros is SOOO offended and SOOO upset with Fox News, Rupert Murdoch and Glen Beck, then he should put his money where his mouth is. Murdoch is a businessman, first and foremost. If you offer him enough cash, he’ll sell /News Corp. Soros either already has the cash or could cobble enough together from lenders to buy News Corp from Murdoch. He should offer 150% over FMV and buy it and then shut it all down. That’ll teach us. That’ll shut us up. Can you imagine if Murdoch had another few billion dollars?

We should have a news show that is entirely devoted to mapping out Soros’s financial moves- and then we can all follow them step by step ourselves, that way, when he tries to bring down economies again and hedge against them, it won’t exactly work because everyone else is doing the same as him.       And the wealthy lefties in attendance at that dinner BELIEVE every word that drips from Soros’ filthy mouth. This is shaping up to be a huge challenge for us, one helluva WAR for the hearts and minds of Americans.

      But it’s one thing to comprehend and respond to stories on the web and another to mount a powerful offence to fight the battles that are in store.

      Do we need to find a way to better organize orselves– perhaps in regional groups? Maybe we’re part way there by utilizing websites such as Oathkeepers, Constitution Emergency, Patriots for America, and a handful of others linked in the Blaze posts.

      We have more to worry about from the Mormon Church than from Soros. As a conservative, I’m very leery of people like Beck who belong to what is basically a cult and claims god talks to him.       I will be surprised if the FCC shuts down Fox as this would be akin to Salomon’s temple being rebuilt in Jerusalem. As Christians know the building of a third temple indicates the apocalypse is near, shutting down any media outlet at this point, especially Fox, would so indicate that the end of the Republic is near. Such an action would most likely be the seed that starts a violent revolution.

      You need to read the book of Revelation in the New Testament. He talks about unity for what is right for this country and to bring back accountablity, self-worth, and reliance on each other a not government. So if you have done your homework and know what really is happening to this great country will frighten anyone with half a brain cell.
