True? Reports Peg Man Who Ripped Pages From Koran as ‘Tea Party Leader’

Randall Terry has never been hesitant to get arrested for a headline. I think he‘s over 40 arrests which puts him in the Chairman’s Select club in the Frequent Arrest Program. So why did his group just rip pages from the Koran today rather than setting them ablaze (no relation)? AFP talked to Terry-associate Andrew Beacham who did some of the ripping:
He carefully put the torn pieces into a plastic bag, in order not to litter, and said: “The only reason I will not burn it at the White House is because to burn anything on the Capitol grounds is a felony.”
So now they are worried about getting arrested? I’m not clear if Terry himself was a ripper, but most of the focus was on him:
“Part of why we’re doing that, please hear me: the charade that Islam is a peaceful religion must end.”
Think Progress says Terry dismissed concerns from some 9/11 families about “politicizing” the terror anniversary:
Now back to Beacham who did do some of the actual Koran ripping. News reports were quick to describe Beacham as a “Tea Party leader.” That’s the label on this AFP photo on Yahoo News:
Think Progress, a liberal group, did talk to the guy:
When asked why he was desecrating Islam’s holiest book, Beacham said, “there is only one religion and that is Christianity.” Asked about ripping versus burning the Quran, Beacham casually replied, “same diff.”
So is he, in fact, a “tea party organizer?” Kudos to Think Progress for at least asking for specifics:
So he says he’s “not currently an organizer or leader.” AFP must have gotten a different story:
Beacham, who describes himself as a leader of the rightwing conservative Tea Party from Indiana, added: “The Twin Towers were taken down because of the Koran and other religious teachings.”
I’m confused. Is he a “a leader,“ or ”not currently?” Or what “was” he? I spent some time on Mr. Beacham’s Twitter page.
Well he does describe himself as a Tea Party Organizer. So it must be true. BTW — I am not the only one reading his Twitter page! He does have 38 followers! And long before today a Tea Party watch group was closely following Mr. Beacham.
The site, which I won’t name, is happy to introduce us:
He seemed so much more centered in his Twitter profile picture:
Then again, he does have the benefit of a cooling fan at home. The non-named site actually posted an in-depth PDF of Beacham’s Tweets. I’m here to tell you that there is a lot to learn. He seems to like baseball and soccer. And he may prefer to live like a Hobbit. He says this is his “dream house:”
But we’re getting distracted. Back to the “Tea Party Leader” thing. While he says he’s “not currently” a leader or organizer, I thought I should check on his past record. He did say he worked with the “Indianapolis Tea Party” and the “Elkhart County Tea Party.” That should be easy to check:
Oh. Did I spell Indianapolis correctly? Well, what about the Elkhart County folks? There is more evidence there. A WSBT-TV report out of Goshen does describe Beacham as an “organizer” of anti-tax rallies in the spring of 2009. They include this photo:
It‘s not clear if those are Beacham’s Koran-ripping hands or not.
So I was pretty sure I could find out more from the Elkhart County Tea Party. Their website hasn’t been updated since April 6, 2009. But their Facebook page seemed to be a little more active. It’s nice because they have a whole section showing their members:
So it was easy to search for Beacham:
Hmm. So maybe he’s not a member. Well — I finally did manage to find something:
Ah ha! So he was one of the “guest speakers!” Heck, I’ve been a guest speaker at a Tea Party event. Can I be a “leader” too?
None of this is to question Mr. Beacham’s judgment of course. After all he has turned video productions like this:
Really. He claims credit on his Twitter page. Beacham also pumps TheTerryCast.com:
But I’m not sure you should really actually click the play triangle on this one:
I told you not to click. But, then again, maybe you just found your “general in the culture wars.”
You heard it. Right from the “Tea Party leader” who decided to rip up a Koran in front of the White House today. “Let’s win!” They certainly are proving they know how. Right?
UPDATE! Temple of Mut says Indiana Tea Party activists “ran Beacham out of town” citing a Washington Independent story“ on how Randall Terry was trying to ”capitalize” on the Tea Party movement:
Andrew Beacham, a young, bearded activist who has been ejected from four of President Obama’s speeches–including his University of Notre Dame commencement speech and a health care event in Maryland–was just as adamant. He came into Terry’s fold after a disappointing stint as a Republican activist and a Tea Party organizer in Indiana. Suiting up and heckling the president of the United States, he said, made him aware of how “in history, there are always people who are willing to step up and be the tip of the spear.” Shouting down the president of the United States is more effective than nearly any form of public protest, said Beacham, especially when the president is hesitant about how to respond.
Disappointing stint? I thought he was a leader.

We are allowing these radicals to set the message and we are wasting time constantly trying to defend ourselves. Let‘s not lose sight of what’s REALLY going on around here. The left is trying to change this country from a Republic to a government that controls the people. They will use any method available to silence us and to direct attention away from what they are doing. Although I don’t agree with this idiotic book burning/tearing stuff, it is NOT illegal and the left has always used this tactic. This is a non-story.
Let’s stop responding to dinglebags (whatever) and the other idiots that keep trying to change the message. If we do not focus our message and, instead, allow them to control the debate, we will become a Socialist/Marxist/Fascist nation. Frankly, I no longer care what the left says nor do I listen to them. The party was organized by Richard Behney, who went on to run in the Republican senate primary for Evan Bayh’s seat. The meetings were held at his business facilities and were financed in large part by Richard and his wife Laura – and they were the sole organizers for that first tax day rally.

Koran To be ‘Torn Up’ at White House on Saturday, 9/11 at 11:30 A.M.
Tea Party Leader Andrew Beacham (of Indiana) says: “Yes, I intend to tear up the Koran in Obama’s front yard. The only reason I will not burn it at the White House is because to burn anything on the Capitol grounds is a felony.”
WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The following was released today by Andrew Beacham, Tea Party leader from Indiana:
“I fear God alone; I will not live in fear of Islam, and I will not deny the gospel. I will preach the Christian faith – that Jesus Christ is Lord, Priest, King, and Prophet – and that Muhammad is a false prophet. Beyond that, I will not allow the oppressive teachings of Muhammad and the tyranny of Sharia law to remain unchallenged.” Andrew Beacham, Tea Party leader from Indiana.
Also: See Dr. Timothy Furnish’s article: “What Would Jesus Do With a Qur’an? Actually, He Might Burn It.” http://hnn.us/blogs/78.html
For immediate release: A Large group of Tea Party and Religious rights activists will gather in front of the White House to tear out egregious passages from the Quran that call for violence against Christians and Jews. This is a peaceful “solidarity gathering” regarding religious freedom, and the planned Koran burning in various cities in America.
Contact number: 904 687 9804.
Participants will ask: “President Obama, do you support Sharia law, the Quran, and Islamic violence; or do you stand with Constitutional freedoms, religious liberty, your professed Christianity, and peaceful protest?
“Mr. President, you stand with the ‘constitutional freedom’ of Muslims to put a Mosque at ground zero in NYC. Do you stand with the ‘constitutional freedoms’ of those who protest against Sharia law, and burn a book that calls for killing infidels?”
Andrew Beacham also says: “I intend to tear up the pages of the Quran that call for me to be enslaved or killed by Muslims for my Christian faith. If that insults or enrages Muslims, so be it.”
Note: Timothy R. Furnish, Ph.D., – author of “What Would Jesus Do With a Qur’an? Actually, He Might Burn It” is a writer, researcher and analyst specializing in Islamic history, sects, eschatology, ideology and Mahdism. Our Founders were very wise about the system they set up here. They knew the weaknesses of human nature and did their very best to create an environment that human beings could prosper in.

Although The Blaze is advertised as a conservative web site, The Blaze does practice censorship. I am experiencing increasing difficulties having my articles published here. Last article of mine censored, I registered a fierce objection with Scott Baker for engaging in unwarranted censorship. Hours later, my article is published.
BROKER101 poses a question, “…tell me again (and again) where real ‘intolerance’ thrives, on the left or the right?”
Both right conservative web sites and left liberal web sites. An alleged staunch conservative web site, Smart Girl Politics, practices heavy handed censorship and banishment of those who do not conform to their political message. I experienced some racial slurs at Smart Girl Politics.
The worst of censorship is discovered at the GOP web site where Iron Fist Censorship is inflicted upon members. For the GOP, I have emails from high level administrators simply telling lies to cover up their censorship. I am banished because of my gathering information from inside the hierarchy of the GOP, embarrassing information which I continue to hold, including an administrative apology letter for mistreatment by administration.
Censorship here at The Blaze is moderate but becoming more severe.
Worst of censorship on the left side is found at Women Of The Web (WoW) a web site operated by famous women of Hollywood, women all of you know. I caught WoW engaging in telling lies to America about their censorship. I well documented this, I am banished because of information I hold WOW does not want released. There is an added factor at WoW, Margo Howard, daughter of Ann Landers, slung out a rather vile racial slur at me and at all American Indians. Howard threatened to have me removed from WoW, I was promptly banished. I believe my banishment was part of an effort to conceal her racial slur from the public.
Another example of censorship on the left is a racist outfit, Black Star News which not only censors but will also change your words to fit their message. This practice exceeds censorship and moves into outright deceit. I have documented cases of Black Star News altering my articles to fit their message. I stopped my participation at Black Star News after receiving numerous threats of violence and death.
My extensive personal experience is when I allude to my not being a Christian rather a traditional America Indian, a red skinned girl, web sites begin censoring my articles.
Cruise around here at The Blaze. You will find me everywhere, and will find I am both a respectful writer and a respected writer who earns appreciation from readers, in writing.
Best practice is to not trust any political web site, neither right nor left. I have yet to discover a political web site which does not censor to control the message.
I plan to contact Glenn Beck to sternly object to his condoning suppression of our right to free speech; unwarranted censorship to control the message.
Articles, truthful articles like this one I write, is what has me censored. I am an American Indian truth speaker. As most know, truth is no longer tolerated here in our home, America.

Censorship by definition can only be done by a government. You have the right to free speech, but you don’t have the right to be heard on a privately owned web site. There is a difference. Every web site funded by a private entity is entitled to moderate the content of their web site. Just because someone deems your content to be inconsistent with the purpose of their privately owned web site and decides not to grant you a forum, you shouldn’t cry censorship. The right to free speech pertains to the public forum, not the private. I’m sure you would object to someone coming into your private home and demanding to be heard. If you showed them the door because you didn’t like their message would that make you guilty of censorship?

Rather ironic your moniker contains our word, “Truth”.
Yours is a stereotypical left liberal argument. This web site elicits support from the public, encourages the public to “speak their minds” and purports to be a right conservative web site.
Americans are invited here to participate and to lend support to Glenn Beck. We are invited to speak freely. I write freely and discover I am moderated.
The most critical right we have is free speech. Conservatives are expected to fiercely defend our right to free speech, are expected to never engage in “unwarranted” censorship. Yes, remove spam, censor vulgarity, take out hate speech, I agree. However, censoring to control a political message is not in keeping with our American way of life. Censorship is a tool of despots and tyrants.
An analogy is Denny’s restaurants run ads all over inviting Americans to come in for tasty meals. You go to Denny’s, sit down and order chicken fried steak. Waitress tells you, “Nope, we are left liberals. You are only allowed to have vegetarian meals.”
I am certain you would be really pissed off and would never go to another Denny’s restaurant.
Your stereotypical left liberal argument does not wash. We are invited here to participate, to support Glen Beck, to lend power to our right conservative cause and discover we are censored to control the message.
No chicken fried steak here at The Blaze.
Again, the most critical component of a right conservative philosophy is freedom of speech. I have provided documentation The Blaze does not respect our right to free speech. This calls into question the agenda of Glenn Beck.
Our mainstream media news is all over this place looking for any excuse to degrade The Blaze, looking for the most lame of reasons to portray The Blaze as a right wing extremist kook outfit.
Unwarranted censorship is not a lame excuse, this is a highly valid reason to advise America this place is just another extremist kook outfit engaging in censorship to control the message.
Is this how you want America to view The Blaze?
Your left liberal argument is tired and worn out. We are invited here to exercise our right to free speech and discover free speech is not welcomed here.
I am a patriotic American. I fiercely defend our right to free speech.
Now run along and get yourself a vegetarian meal at Denny’s.

Your paranoia is starting to show up a bit…. I see this message every now and then too. This site is NOT fully functional as has been pointed out previously. Instead of putting your “comment” (article? Not so much) in the queue and not letting you see it, it seems they are experimenting with different options. The screen shot you posted lets you know that your comment was received and is being reviewed. This site rarely, if ever, censors comments unless they contain foul language or nasty personal attacks on posters. Just because your comment does not appear immediately, when it clearly says at the bottom of the box that it may take some time, does NOT mean it is being censored. At first, few rules applied here but since people can’t follow the rules of decorum and restrain themselves, now you have to wait. A message board that is unmoderated allowing immediate posting of a comment regardless of it’s contents is a dangerous thing.

It’s not only cheesy and classless, it leads one to believe that the person doing it is very insecure about themselves and must constantly remind everyone around how superior they are to the rest of us riffraff.

Please explain your concept of property rights according to the founding principles of our nation. You seem to have a real problem with the property rights of Glenn and others who own certain web sites. You seem to want to dictate to them what they should or should not do with their personal property. These web sites are personal property of their owners, not publicly owned forums.
I may be wrong, but it seems to me that you are unhappy with the results of your own ventures into capitalism via your blogs and that not enough people agree with you. This seems to have turned into envy of those sites that are successful and attract many like minded people. (Thu shalt not covet?)
A true capitalist who found themselves in your situation would examine the product or service they are offering and seek to improve it’s appeal to the general public and look for ways to persuade others to agree with their position. Applying reason, positive ideas, etc..
A non-capitalist, not based in the founding principles of our nation, would instead seek to tear down those who are successful in the development of their property under the guise of “it just isn’t fair that they get lots of people to see things their way and I don’t. I should be allowed access to their readers so I have equal time and influence.”
Might I suggest an excellent book you may be interested in, “The 5000 Year Leap”. A great explanation of the principles upon which our nation was founded.
P.S. I missed your response to my earlier suggestion that you might not allow anyone to come into your personal home and say whatever they wanted whenever they wanted…

Regarding the Dennys anaolgy: it just doesn’t work, though I appreciate the effort. It is illiustartive because under a free society the scenario you portray is perfectly legal and permissable. The natural result of your scenario would be that I would not return to patronize the restaurant, period. I don’t need to go get a sign and march outside of Dennys complaining about the food that I was not served. I just excersise my agency and choose not to spend my hard earned money with them. Time and the free market will work out the wisdom, or lack therof, of the restaurant in question.
A more accurate analogy would be if you went into the Dennys restaurant and demanded that they serve you something that is not on their menu and then you got upset because they were not running the restaurant the way you thuoght that they should.

Until you understand that free speech is irrelevant to the use of someone’s personal property and that your right to free speech means that the GOVERNEMNT does not have the power to shut down your speech, you will not understand that free speech has nothing to do with moderating the comments on any web site.
When Glenn Beck or Scott Baker or the government actively seek to block your personal blogs from being published on the web, THEN you can talk freedom of speech. Until then you may want to exercise your agency and simply not patronize those web sites that don’t operate the way you want them to.

Soraya, oh gosh! You arrived just in the nick of time to watch me in action! These left liberals around here are gathering a torch waving, hanging noose swinging, angry mob! Another half dozen of them then odds will be even for taking on this little red skinned girl wielding only quill and ink!
Rather fascinating, Soraya, this rabble of political proletariat screaming Tory taunts at me are those who least respect this critical importance of freedom of speech, and they sure cling to their duct tape, pencil erasers and God’s word! Shut thy piehole, Taha!
Quite ironic, our constitutional guarantees are the very foundation, the very fabric of a conservative philosophy. Most important of our rights is freedom of speech. Without ability to speak freely in back woods, behind a wood shed, in secluded taverns, within the home and inside a house of God, our nation would have never enjoy birth. Without our founding fathers being able to speak, to discuss, to debate issues of their time, in privacy and in public, America would not exist. Free speech is the very life blood of our nation. We enjoy freedoms because those who created our nation could speak freely, when the British were not around to silence them. If not for free speech, even if concealed within private property, none of those canaille would exist. Free speech enabled ancestors of the many to come here to America to enjoy freedom. There is a dark side to free speech, the wholesale slaughter of my peoples over four-hundred years of genocide. God smite thee red skinned savages!
Today, here, right now, in this House of Glenn Beck, free speech is the least respected of notions. Those pitch fork carrying folks up there are quick to duct tape our mouths, pencil eraser our words and intimidate us into silence through threat of being struck down by God’s word.
They claim themselves to be conservatives, claim themselves to be Americans, claim themselves to be defenders of our freedoms, and they are the first to strip us of our freedoms.
Thank goodness, Soraya, you have arrived. I was just about to humiliate those left liberals, and your Christian Girl presence reminds me of my Christian duty to be a tolerant person and a good person. Your presence, your patriotism, your truthful ways, your love of our freedoms and love of our America, does have a calming effect upon me. You serve to remind me there are still some true Americans about.

Posted on September 12, 2010 at 12:30amThe libs make this too easy –
A. Anyone involved in destroying books to make a point is a coward.
B. If they belong to the Tea Party we’ll take care of getting rid of them ourselves. We don‘t need lib’s hanging around just for publicity’s sake.
I have to say though this story just has a ring of phony baloney to it. Something just isn’t right. I‘m betting there a Soro’s sneaking around here somewhere.

Posted on September 12, 2010 at 2:33am1. No one is perfect, even people who support the Tea Party.
2. I am not sure if it’s nessessary to burn or destroy a religious book unless it is a truly evil. But I don’t think this guy is a coward. I believe you got it backwards. In these days I see most American’s being the cowards. Look around! I see fear, and people are scared of what others will say or do to them. Take a stand or die a coward.
3. If foreigners from other countries can manipulate our constitutional rights and freedoms from over sea’s, then are we really a free people? If not, then we are loosing the fight. Or have already lost.
4. I don’t believe in living like a hobbit, but Beacham’s dream house is amazing! I had this vision back when I was a teenager. But the vision I had for my house had a fruit & vegetable garden on top with some cool skylights to light natural light in.

Posted on September 12, 2010 at 12:05amI agree…“Think Progress”…and move beyond the MM for truth. Kudos to Scott Baker for this “exposé” showing the left’s infatuation with attempting to connect the Tea Party with extremism. This individual is not associated with the Tea Party (certainly not the tenets of the Tea Party).
Here is what must not get lost in the chaos…anyone who has examined Islam (Sharia law, etc.) knows that politics and religion are inextricably intertwined. For that reason alone, Islam cannot be allowed to fester in America as it aggressively (and virulently) seeks more control and power over the people than most of the Christian religions.
Quite frankly, the entire concept of God has been wrongfully appropriated by man-made religions throughout history for the purpose of control and extortion of the masses.
Common sense dictates that there is a God. Unfortunately, “religion” attempts to determine who owns God…oh, the arrogance of man.

Posted on September 11, 2010 at 11:59pmI said it before on other stories. Everyone is responsible for their own actions and do not represent the people on the left or right. The Discovery Channel hostage taker was inspired by Environmental Propaganda and called Babies “Parasites” but he doesn’t represent Liberals even though he was a liberal. There are wackos in every group.

Posted on September 11, 2010 at 11:59pmUnfortunate that this extremist is associated with the “Tea Party movement”. Most Tea Partiers…Infact, all the “Tea Partiers” I have met, have been reasonable concerned and conservative citizens. I’m sure there are no wing nuts in any other political circles.Right? I am a Christian wife, mother, business owner from the great state of Florida. I joined the Tea Party, because I’m tired of “Business as Usual” by the Fed. Gov’t. and I am opposed to the socialist agenda of the current administration.

Posted on September 12, 2010 at 9:56pmI would still think it likely that this loon is a plant from the left. They make sure and give him coverage on that “un-named site” so it would serve them very well to have this guy and his actions as fuel for any argument against the Tea Party movement.
I don’t see necessarily that he exhibits utterly opposing actions from his stated beliefs but wanting to live like a Hobbit is a first sign of a tree hugger. We all love the planet, want to breathe clean air and such but if you are not anti-conservatives (which by name is very misleading, just like progressive is more like regressive) then you are an Earth hater. It must be a really sick life to live it hating yourself and whole species for things you are constantly brainwashed to believe in our public government youth indoctrination centers. You spend years unlearning the junk that extreme liberal teachers end up forcing you to believe as a youth else you do not pass the class.
Anyway, I digress. The abortion “act” seems more like a parody of right to life activist behavior rather than a serious proponent video of it. It still confounds me to see any political party wanting to abort future voters, anyway. His professed behaviors seem a to be outside of the Overton window even for right wing extreme thinkers. More like left wing extreme “feelers” and actors.

Posted on September 12, 2010 at 9:23amDanglingbags what happened to you in your childhood? I can’t believe you don’t realize what an idiot you sound like making post like that. We all know you are just part of a “army” thats role is to scour blogs and comments so you can make comments like these. Maybe the objective is to discourage someone that might be questioning their loyalty to the democrats. I think people are wise to it and it doesn’t play anymore. The other possibility is you are just a very bitter person that doesn’t like himself very much.
Tell me old wise one how does this end well for the American people? How does adding 9 trillion to the national debt in 8 years going to end well? I really want to know how you reconcile that with your conscious so maybe I can learn something from you unlike the last 100 of your post.

Posted on September 12, 2010 at 10:17amYou are all giving dangling whatever far too much attention. I have tried to inform the people of The Blaze that those dangling bags prohibit the flow of blood to the brain of this organism, making things spew from it like tourette’s syndrome. The best way to neutralize such an organism is to ignore it. That being said, whether or not we are haters of muslims is irrelevant. They do not move to other countries to live peacefully, they move to spread the infection of islam and to present the world to allah. Would you do-gooders please obtain a copy of the quoran and read it! This is clearly stated as the end-game, to convert who they can, kill every living thing refusing to convert, and present the world to allah in triumph. Shariah now, shariah tomorrow and shariah forever! If we do not stop the spread of this infection here there will be a heavy price to pay. I suppose some of them do come here because they don‘t have the stomach to mutilate their children’s genitalia or to escape the possibility of being stoned because someone who has a grudge against them accuses them of adultery or throws acid in their face. Or perhaps they are simply exhausted from trying to keep their children safe from molestation. Maybe some of them are trying to escape before their parents sell them to some filth they can’t stand the thought of having to sleep with or else face being stoned for refusing to sleep with the filth. Or perhaps they fear being stoned for not conceiving children with the filth. Or perhaps, since they have failed to have boy-gendered children, they fear stoning and try to escape here. Can you believe there are places where you can be stoned to death for not delivering male children? In the more remote parts of places where our own children are fighting, people, especially female people, are stoned with alarming frequency. You don’t hear about it because A) it is not widely known because of remoteness and B) where it is known by our troops they are forbidden to speak of it. There are many more equally evil abominations being practiced in these countries we are trying to appease and make friends with. Although they are forbidden to speak of it, ask our returning servicemen and women. They know and our government has forbidden them to speak of it or face severe penalties for so-doing. But the lamestream media wouldn’t report it anyway, for fear of offending these degenerates. What a peaceful, wonderful culture and religion they bring here. Why, oh why would any one of us be skeptical of their motives or not want their “places of worship” in our backyards? We are not hearing any of these peaceful muslims standing up in their mosques and demanding that the clerics stop teaching the culture of violence. When we start hearing them stand up IN THE MOSQUES and demand that this cease, then we will know that they are serious about peace. That is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I am more than willing to live beside a person of any religion or culture whose end-game isn’t to destroy my own. I am willing to learn of their culture and share my own for the enrichment of both of us. But I don’t wear those rose-colored glasses that so many naive Americans seem to have obtained. Trust, but verify. I have verified and I cannot trust.
