Several news outlets in Britain are reporting that Prince Charles’s wife, Camilla, was physically assaulted during an attack on the couple’s car on Thursday.
From the Sun:
The Duchess of Cornwall was physically attacked through an open car window by a rioting thug in central London, it was claimed today.
Reports say a protester managed to push a stick through an open window of the limousine and jab it into her ribs.
Camilla’s frightening experience came as a baying mob surrounded her and Prince Charles as they rode through the protests last night.
The Duchess of Cornwall was physically attacked through an open car window as thugs rampaged in London, the Standard can reveal today.
A rioter managed to push a stick into the royal limousine and jab her in the ribs. Camilla’s terrifying ordeal came as a baying mob surrounded her and husband Prince Charles when they rode through central London in the vintage Rolls-Royce last night.
A police source said one of the car’s rear windows was opened in error as tuition fee protesters moved in.
The Daily Mail:
Camilla was prodded in the ribs with a stick through the open window of their Rolls-Royce as she and Charles were driven to the Royal Variety Performance at the London Palladium.
One of the vintage car’s windows was left open by mistake before the vehicle was surrounded by a snarling mob of rioting students and activists.
The car was kicked, rocked and hit with paint bombs as up to 20 demonstrators attacked it and chanted ‘Off with their heads!‘ and ’Tory scum’, leaving the couple visibly shaken.
One thug managed to lean into the car through the window nearest to Camilla, who was left terrified by the biggest Royal security lapse in a generation.
While the couple walked away largely unharmed, the startling news Friday is how close the incident came to becoming even worse. According to the same outlets, police officers were seconds away from drawing their guns in order to ward off the attackers.
“Royal protection officers were seconds from drawing their weapons after the Duchess of Cornwall was physically attacked by rioters,” the Mail reports.
In the wake of the incident, royal security officials are investigating what the couple’s detail could have done better.

T his isnt 1929 and people arent that docile anymore – they will NOT take adversity without a fight

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 2:44pmI think this is a correct assessment — All the news has been on William getting married, and what that wedding will cost England’s taxpayers. No wonder people are PO’d over there. It reminds me of many American’s suffering here with lost jobs and foreclosures while Michelle Obama flew off for her vacation in Spain and her husband taking his 50th golf outing. There is no attention being paid to how this looks to the ones footing the bill.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 1:39pmIt seems odd to me that the Rolls would even attempt to go through a crowd of protesters, regardless of their docile attitude at the beginning. Also, how did the window get rolled down just in time for someone to shove a stick through? Someone needs to get fired here. They need to investigate who showed up to turn the crowd more violent and were they really students.

I’m sorry, huh? What, you think a princess would be able to just wave her hand and calm this crowd? This wasn’t directed at Charles personally, it was due to his being a royal — these hooligans will be just as violent when William ascends, whether or not his father outlives his grandmother. Their country is bankrupt … and it’s coming our way all too soon.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 1:16pmOf course these are the same people what will cry “police brutality” when they get smacked across the head for being a violent psychopath in the middle of a riot…
And why is there no opposition movement over there?? you would think there would be some regular citizens helping the attempt to bring sanity back to the place..
I know if there was socialist rioting around where I live I’d be out there fighting against the anarchistic-Marxist-moonbats.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 1:16pmOkay, Bonnie Prince Charlie, time to start being a real leader. It is time to stop entertaining yourself and playing around and worrying about architecture in England and start being a real man and a real King, something like your sons. You are playing polo while London burns. There won‘t be any architecture left to worry about if you don’t step up and be a man.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 1:15pmfirst the royals should not have been going near there, period. and certainly not in a plain un-armored car. second, where are the secret service they are supposed to have, oh wait, they said protection was silly. they have socialists and muslims just chomping at the bit to kill them, indoctrinating the British youth that violence is the only way to get what they want, and these royals think they were immune to the violence. won’t be long before HRH Charles is seriously injured and the place goes up for grabs like in Greece etc.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 1:32pmEven two seconds wouldn’t have been enough if it had been a bomb instead of a stick. This crew needs retraining or proper authorization to use deadly force in situations like this.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 4:01pmI’ve fired the P-90 as well as several variants of the MP-5. Yes, the P-90 has a high capacity magazine and some body armor piercing capability, but its control is not superior to the MP-5. I found the MP-5 to be more accurate in both semi and full auto even with iron sights versus a P-90 equipped with a red dot sight. I didnt like the P-90 at all and that is also the consensus of most counter-terrorist and special forces teams.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 1:11pmUse of deadly force is going to be the first response as these break-away riots gain in popularity in democratic nations.
Greece, France, England, call the role … it’s coming to a public square near you.
The Assange/Wikileaks has been an intoxicant for the type of individuals that relish putting on the Balaclava and playing the rioter. We are in a time of upheaval that is generated by people known and supported by other states that want us to crack and splinter.
Don’t allow mange to spread. Put down the rage.

Posted on December 11, 2010 at 9:36amEngland is one of the worlds leading countries with the use of police security cameras. Remember the video of the woman that put the cat in the trash can? This was caught on a police security camera. It is hard to believe that in a country with so many cameras watching everything the heir to the throne would accidently be driven into a riot. Could this be planned to make the public willing to accept Marshall Law? Is this an attempt to make everyone think if even Prince Charles is not safe on the streets who is? Are the leftist in England’s government creating a problem of street violence so the people will give up freedom in exchange for protection? Strange things are happening all over the world; I don’t think they are just random acts.

Were they waiting for her to be killed before drawing their weapons? They should have drawn the weapons as soon as anyone approached the car, then opened fire when they began to attack the vehicle.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 3:38pmThis is the most obvious aspect of this whole incident. The police and security are practically oblivious. Some guy is literally climbing into the vehicle while the crowd is screaming “off with their heads” and they havent even DRAWN their weapons? I saw a video on youtube of this incident filmed by some criminal punk and the “protective detail” didnt even push or shove anyone out of the way. They were mere decorations. How pathetic.
Report Post »And on the other hand, the arrogant sense of superiority of this royal couple in their ridiculously expensive vintage limousine which they never lifted a finger to merit, could reasonably inspire a sense of disgust from British taxpayers.

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 4:33pmThey should have blown a few of them away. We were trained to shoot for the abdomen when dealing with civil disorder…that way they lay on the ground and screamed to get maximum effect from the rest of the dirtbags. Four or five of them could have been quite instructive.

Posted on December 11, 2010 at 6:31pmUm, KenInIL, you are aware the Prince Charles is a powerless figurehead, aren’t you? Or, rather, he will be when he’s crowned king. If his mother ever dies. Here’s how the UK government works, per Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_Monarchy. The most he can do right now is smile and wave.
