On the day after voters handed President Obama and congressional Democrats a “shellacking,” one Democratic Congressman says he’s working toward a more bipartisan future between the right and left sides of the aisle. Agenda item number one: a congressional resolution “disavowing” the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton.
Say what? The Hill reports:
Rep. Chaka Fattah (Pa.) said that the resolution is necessary so that Democrats and Republicans can work together in a bipartisan fashion.
“As we enter a period in which bipartisanship will be a major priority for the Congress, it is vital that we disavow the most highly partisan example of the politics of personal destruction in the recent history of this House,” Fattah said in a statement. …
Fattah said he is introducing the resolution on Nov. 15, the first day of the lame-duck session, noting that Clinton’s impeachment took place during the December 1998 lame-duck session.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 10:27pmHow is this going to promote bipartisanship? Bill may be popular among the democrates (or maybe not since his campaigning for them did no good) but he is still a loser to everyone else. Who is this congressman anyway?

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 10:23pmDisavow the Clinton impeachment?!
Clinton should have been impeached for alot of things. Like allowing us to be attacked 8 times by the al Qaeda with impunity, for losing the nuclear codes, and almost getting us into a war with China by accidentally bombing the Chinese embassy!
Clinton was, and still is, the consummate politician. Rotten to the core!
What a numbskull he was, and still is! He was always too busy chasing interns around the Oval Office and desecrating it.

Fattah please just stay home, if your going to come to congress during the lame duck with that waste of time…

Imagine if he would have been sent home, people would know that if you mess up you pay a price. Look now at Blago in Illinois getting paid to do commercials now after guilty veridict. Very wrong.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 10:06pmI have no desire to rewrite our history the fact is the man lied under oath i could care less who he beds that is not my concern what is that when you hold the responsibility to tell the truth and the whole truth you best speak the truth and let the chips fall where they will. This is nothing more than typical liberal BS give me what I want and then we can get along the truth from my perspective is we have been dismissing the content of a individual’s Character for far to long. It also seems to me the liberals show and have no gratitude for the grace the American people and in most cases they return the favor with contempt for the people and rule of law. I will trust the politicians when they first lead by example and can be verified as to what they are doing

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 10:06pmIs Chaka Fattah bracing for Obama’s supposed impeachment? Ed Schultz is pretty sure that will be one of the main thrusts of Republican’s now. That and, the media will be filled with “birther” stories.
Report Post »Clinton‘s impeachment doesn’t seem to have bearing on anything else at this point.
We’ve got too much to worry about in terms of getting people back to work and leveling out the economy to worry about impeachment proceedings, even as much as they are deserved.

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 3:34amI guess, if you accept the constitutionality of the law that says that Congress can question you under oath about behavior that is embarrassing, but not actually illegal and then punish you if you lie. If they ask you about something illegal you can take the fifth, but if it’s just something humiliating, you have to answer or face a contempt of Congress charge. And you don’t get to have a lawyer to advise you like you would in a court of law where they can only question you about actual crimes.

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 10:13amI’ll take it one step further, Snow. I say we open the books on all elected officials in Washington, using an independent panel of investigators, and get rid of every last one of them who has ethics violations. Elected officials should be held to a higher standard, as the people’s employees. Let the investigators look into lobbyist ties, campaign donations, anywhere there is a money trail. At the end of two years, put all these criminals on the ballot as a vote to see who is dismissed. Let the American people decide if we really want to change the way Washington works.

Got to do something great today, some of my Progressive associates (not friends) were so fouly set at the losses yesterday by their party, they needed to be cheered up, I provided them with just the cure for it – copies of Mr Becks newest cure “Broke”
Believe it or not they actually have gotten into it without being told who wrote it. That shows their is hope yet for them, or they graduated the socialist universities as mind numbed robots.

Posted on November 3, 2010 at 10:34pmCould this resolution to clear the former President Clinton be the beginning where the Democrats may decide that it would be politically expedient to impeach Mr Obama on their own inititive to keep any such move from starting with the Republicans?
They could claim, for what their words are worth, (yes, I know the jungles around DC are thick this year) that they took the inititive away from the Republicans for hairbrained reasoning?
Unlikely I will admit, but something along those lines may be happening?
