‘Responsibility for Progressives’ to ‘Reject’ the Middle Class, TV Host Says, Since They Have No ‘Relationship’ to the ‘Poor or People of Color’

Juan Gonzalez, co-hosts the radio and television program Democracy Now! made some startling admissions about his view on the middle class last week.
Speaking on a panel in Stony Brook, NY, Mr. Gonzales discussed his views on how detrimental the “fixation in American politics with the middle class” is. Gonzales explains:
“The key aspect of constantly raising the middle class in my mind is to exclude the poor and the unemployed from the concept of the people and to exclude immigrant labor from the concept of what American politics is geared to.”
Juan then discussed how politicians and the media coordinate to “confuse” the “working class” and create a societal ideal that discriminates on race and income.
“This concept of the middle class is an attempt to create a buffer zone or sense among the people that there is this other group of people that are not part of the middle class that they have no relationship to at the bottom, the immigrants, poor and largely people of color.”
The host of the broadly syndicated television and radio show went on to explain that the major goals of the progressive movement in the future should be the elimination of the “concept” of the middle class in American society.
“The key responsibility for progressives in my mind is to reject this concept of the middle class–from my perspective as a journalist, buying into the middle class paradigm is the beginning of a dulling of the consciousness for working people in America in the 21st Century.”

The first recorded use of a public dole was in Babylon. Karl Marx penned his ideas 164 years ago. These are old tired worn out ideas. They have nothing to do with a modern future or foward thinking. They are the policies of losers and freeloaders. That is why they are so popular in certain ethnic and racial groups. It is the policy of laziness.

I think you need to learn just a bit more about strategy, and I say that with respect. I’ve posted on this topic in the past.
If you look at the history of communism it has similar associations wherever it rears its ugly head with few exceptions; massive death being one. Mass murder / cleansing would not work here in the states. A softer, more tolerable term needed to be adopted, which gave birth to the modern day progressive. There is a “progressive” caucus within the house and Mr. West has been vilified for referring to them as communists. His point was if you look at their doctrine, they are one and the same; I would say he is correct. The point is that the term is a front for advancing the ideology of communism, but people just don’t make the connection. Until people understand that when they introduce themselves as a progressive, they are truly introducing themselves as a communist, it won’t change. Think of it as a euphemism….the bottom line is, don’t be fooled.

No, that’s absurd. America’s distribution of wealth is changing, that much is certain. The very wealthiest, the billionaires, are increasing their wealth at a record pace. The millionairs are also increasing their wealth at a record pace. Those two groups own more and more the wealth of our country. The middle class and poor are gaining very little ground, if any:

Republican policies clearly support the richest. No, don’t object. That American should cut taxes for the rich and pay for that by eliminated programs that support the poor, and raising taxes on you and me and the poor is the conservative posistion. Tax cuts for the rich create jobs and increase government revenue is the talking point, although that’s clearly false and demonstrated historically; i.e. the Bush tax cuts.
What I don’t understand is the Americans who vote against the best interest of the average American, like you and me, in support of those who would profit off of screwing American workers in order to make a couple of extra million a year. I don’t get it.

Mrs. Obama has already made speeches about her husband not allowing people to sit and do nothing that you had to perform a service to the state or to the Government in order to receive services or monetary help. Obama’s ideology should be feared anything that resembles Stalin or Mao should be taken seriously, Obama must be voted out of office or we will never get him out as he has stated that this is his last campaign I believe he end our republic.

In 1927, Holmes wrote the 8-1 majority opinion in the Buck v. Bell case that upheld the forced sterilization of a woman who was claimed to be of below average intelligence. In support of his argument that the interest of the states in a pure gene pool outweighed the interest of individuals in their bodily integrity, he argued: “We have seen more than once that the public welfare may call upon the best citizens for their lives. It would be strange if it could not call upon those who already sap the strength of the State for these lesser sacrifices, often not felt to be such by those concerned, to prevent our being swamped with incompetence. It is better for all the world, if instead of waiting to execute degenerate offspring for crime, or to let them starve for their imbecility, society can prevent those who are manifestly unfit from continuing their kind.

But I’m curious. What freedoms have you lost? I hear a lot about freedoms people are losing and yet no one can give an example! President Obama hasn’t introduced in gun control legislation, so your safe there. There are no federal curfews, restrictions on travel, requirements to show your ID anywhere (well, except in Arizona, but that’s only for Mexicans, and not an Obama thing).
Assuming you can‘t tell me any freedoms you’ve lost, what freedoms are you afraid of losing?
You say you’re really worried about losing freedoms. I’m interested. What freedoms? Seriously, what are you woried about?

Have you talked to any of the citizens that have lost the freedom to use and enjoy their own property due to silly and stupid environmental regulations? (Like the one where they dug a temporary retention basin to store water for their livestock during a drought period? When the drought period was over, they went to fill the hole back in so as to use the land for farming once again, and were not allowed to do so because they were destroying a “wetland”)
There are many examples like this JZS, in addition to people losing their land completely because of bogus “Eminent Domain” cases where property is siezed, the citizens are paid below market value for it, the property is then sold to a crony of a government official. For a kickback, of course.

What you are speaking about is character issues and there are character flaws within every class. The idiot on the video is no different. If you want to appear stupid, you are doing a good job- sterotyping the members of a particular class of people.
I consider my family a member of the middle-class but I was raised in poverty- worse conditions than even what is considered impoverished today. And I am sick and tired of people saying that because I belong to this particular group that I can’t understand the poor, or if I have managed to climb my way out of meager beginnings that I didn’t do it on my own. Well, maybe OBAMA didn’t do it on his own, but this girl worked her arse off to get where she is. There were no hand outs for me, there wasn’t anyone willing to invest in MY future. I took the risks, made the decisions, did the work, and by God I should have the right to at least own my individual successes.

However most of my post would not go through I kept it up, over and over again for hours . My computer would freeze up and I would have to shut it down and start over again. One of the points I was trying to make there was that Hillary Clinton was the first one that I heard refer TO herself as a progressive. It got popular for awhile and many proudly claimed to be Progressives, until……Beck exposed what the progressive movement is. Suddenly there was no reference to being a Progressive. Yahoo often blocks me from commenting about any thing political. Here onThe Blaze my computer freezes up as well as FB. I use FB to post political articles. I started using Ghostery and it shows who is monitoring each site. Interesting information.. I believe that we are closely monitored here on the Blaze . I think we would all be surprised if we knew who was behind it. The Blaze doesn’t control it. Our trolls that are here most likely have a part in it connected to them. We post at our own discretion so if we post we open ourselves up to it. The Progressives don’t like any statements against them.

I am close to 60 and I can’t imagine the way the world will be when my grandchildren are my age. It will happen fast and things are moving very fast – Europe is toast within one year at the outside- my personal guess is this winter. If Bibi believes Obama might get re-elected – he will bomb Iran – not good for oil/food prices etc. China is going through a housing bubble that would make ours look mild and their economy is going to flat line. Japan is about to fold and when these things begin to domino the whole fake flat paper world economy will be in ruins. We will be back to local farming and a barter system.

Stopping them will NOT be easy, but it has got to be done to save the republic. Question those in power…..research the answers and statements they give….find the truth from original sources…..put yourself in the shoes of others and see how things effect them,…..with the knowledge you have gathered, make the choice you think is best. Make it YOUR choice though, not what someone else tells you.
We are losing our independence, both literally and figuratively. Those that won it for us fought too long and too hard for us to just throw it away. Once freedom is lost, it will take generations to get it back. Are we willing to sleep on our watch and leave posterity to do their job and ours?

If I may respectfully disagree with you, Carnac, I would submit that the majority of LEGAL immigrants that come here have willingly renounced any and all allegiance and political ties to their country of origin and have willingly sworn allegiance to the United States, having come here desiring American citizenship and integration into American society, with the attendant benefits of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness. Witness for instance the “boat people” of Cuba and later Vietnam. Legal immigrants from Africa, Asia etc are notable for making good use of the US educational system and rising in the engineering, scientific, electronics and medical fields. I say more power to them!
An exception could certainly be made for a subset of the followers of a certain Middle-Eastern religious persuasion, which subset tends toward non-integration and which settles into Balkanized communities (Dearborn, Mich. comes to mind).
I do agree with you, however, on those that have “immigrated” ILLEGALLY, who have no allegiance to the US.
Curious how those 2 little letters – IL – make such a difference.

When I was 19, I worked on a farm during the summer to earn money for college. It was very hard work – in the fields picking up 60-pound bales of hay and throwing them on to a wagon, eight hours a day in the hot summer sun. The job lasted 10 weeks. During that time, I worked with 9 different helpers. They were all what you might call “white trash.” I knew many of them from high school, one of them an infamous “tough guy” bully. They were from poor families. This farmer told me he hired people like this to try to help them “get ahead.” Well, not one of these 9 guys lasted longer than 10 days. They dropped like flies because the work was “ridiculous” or “stupid.” (I saw one of them a few weeks later at the grocery store using – yup – food stamps.) I was the only worker who lasted the entire 10 weeks. (The “tough guy” bully lasted four days! Ha!) After that summer, the farmer refused to hire the poor because they just didn’t have a work ethic.

It is words for the sake of words. It is the verbal equivalent of busy work. Beyond that there is not another group of people on Earth that likes the sound of their voice more than liberals.
