‘Restoring Love’: Beck Unveils Major 2012 Event at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas

First, there was Restoring Honor in Washington, D.C.
Then there was Restoring Courage in Israel.
Now, get ready for Restoring Love in Dallas, TX.
On Thursday, Glenn Beck announced a third, major live “non-event,” which will take place at the new Cowboys Stadium in Dallas from July 26-28. The three-day gathering will not only focus on love, but also service. In fact, day two will be dedicated to service projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Why a “non-event?”
“Only one day is an event,” Beck said on radio Thursday. “It’s a life change.”
“Restoring Love will be a reminder that we best serve our God when we serve each other,” the frequently-asked-questions section of the event’s website says. “It is a reminder that capitalism is not about who can make the most money and that charity is not just about giving handouts, but must include a hand-up.”
The site adds the emphasis will be on having attendees “serve individuals and communities where the need is great but resources are limited.”
“It is about the recognition that we are all brothers and sisters.”
The gathering is being held in partnership with Beck’s new division called Mercury One, which spearheads his charity initiatives. Still, on radio Thursday, Beck stressed that Mercury One isn’t a charity, “it’s a service organization.”
“Service changes both sides,” he explained. “It’s a verb.”
He said the final day will be a “victory lap” in “celebration of what you’ve accomplished in the days leading up to it.”
“I have said enough words. It’s time for me to help hold up the arms of community and faith leaders and serve those who are doing the heavy lifting on healing our nation,” Beck said:
“It is not enough to talk about the problems, vote and expect others to do the work. When the world is in trouble the American people have always been the first to help. This time it is the America that is trouble but the good news is help is already here. We must set aside our differences and serve each other. With Love for even those who may despise or hate us we must renew our commitment to what Franklin called ‘the American religion’. The axiom ‘America is great because America is good’ is only true because of Franklin’s understanding that ‘there is a God, he will judge us, we should serve Him and the best way to serve Him is to serve our fellow man.’”
So why announce now? Beck said that’s partially so people can start planning and saving. He added that he’s hoping to make most tickets (which will go on sale in February) available for $10, but details are still being worked out. No matter the final prices, all proceeds above the cost of putting on the event will go toward Mercury One.
More details, as well as how this fits into Beck’s bigger picture, will be revealed on GBTV tonight at 5 p.m.
For more information on the “non-event,” and to register, visit Mercury One.

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 11:30amI used to love Beck.
Then I started to follow his political “help” this year to the GOP. He’s pretty much…pretty much done nothing but bash Romney. He and Pat called Romney an “honorable man”, but then pretty much called him a “liar” over the changes in book printings as well as the ad about Obama. Pretty much Glenn and Pat are calling Romney a liar over ‘split hairs’.
I look at Beck and say he does the very same thing that he accuses Romney of having done. Beck has taken and twisted things to suit his purposes…….and it‘s all for Beck’s pocketbook.
So……..I call this the LOVE of $$ for Beck.
It’s a shame……….I honestly loved to listen to Beck. Now I see the “businessman”, the “manipulator”, the “propagandist” he also is. Beck claims to “love” this country, but doesn’t even bother to make it possible to vote in the primary. I know, I know…….purity in ideology. Beck, that WON’T save our country. You’ve done nothing but bash Mitt (generally) and support guys like Perry (you protected at least a number of times!) and then “support” ones that don’t have a chance against Obama (Michele, Santorum——reality, reality….)
So I look at this as a “love” (that $$ in my pocket!) event.
Sorry to be so cynical…….but YOU, Beck, helped me get there!!

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 11:33amGlenn Beck promotes hate, ramps up division and anger and spreads fear. Just last Friday he was raging and ranting over a 19 month old news story involving an African American woman. He’s been saying America will be on fire next summer and saying that everything is spiraling out of control and that GOD will appear on earth any day. THEN…he has the gall to announce this big RESTORING LOVE event? This is ludicrous. What he’s really doing is attempting to polarize the nation further. This is a ruse.

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 11:37amBeck really needs to do some serious research concerning Lincoln. He is not the honorable man he thinks he is. He tried with everything he had to destroy the Constitution and centralize the government. Lincoln is one of the WORST presidents this nation has ever had. Beck is only using the love for Lincoln that was instilled in the US population through public education, to make money. It really is that simple. Beck has been right on things in the past but his adoration of Lincoln is laughable.

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 11:39amI’m in AZ…so this one I think I will attend. I’m one of those who thinks trouble is coming no matter what. And when food/water/shelter gets scarce…people will take sides, choose their camp and square off against each other. The visual differences between people are the most noticeable…and will be the first devisive factor, then will come beliefs, abilities, age and so on.
I fear there will be no stopping it. This get together will be grand, but I believe it will be much like Sean Hannitty’s freedom festivals…everyone there was pretty much the same in all regards…so everyone got along. Not exactly a melting pot. Becks words on radio/TV, in writing and in person rarely reach the ears of anyone set against the ideas he speaks about. Preaching to the choir?
Anyway, I have not been to one of Beck’s meetings and would love to go. I’ll have a patch on my jacket taht says “The_Almighty_Creestof” so you all can ridicule me in person : )

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 12:01pmLincoln did not love the South, he hated and despised the South. He ordered a war of attrition against the South. There were more Federal Troops than Southern Troops and the North could replace men easier than the South, so he ordered assault after assault regardless of the loss of life. Lincoln ordered attacks on the South that his general knew were suicide but Lincoln wanted to win at any cost. The loss of life of both military and civilians was the greatest of any war to that time and even today. Lincoln was a butcher.

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 12:27pmGreenstream, I have a question for you. Would a truly devout religious man, as Beck claims to be, have ridiculed some poor, handicapped woman with obvious difficulties, like Glenn and his sycophants did last July?? Hey, on a certain level, I get it – she’s a Walmart trasher. We’ve all seen them. But Jesus would have been disgusted with Glenn’s mean-spirited ridicule, not to mention the vile comments that you all piled on to that unfortunate woman. She is one of God’s children, according to you religious types, yet not one other person as I recall, came to her defense. \As a non-believer, I was the only one who felt any sympathy for that woman. Can you imagine if she was a relative of yours – you cared for her in spite of her difference from the rest of us – can you imagine how hurtful it must be to be ridiculed on a national stage on a radio show???? I’m still disgusted with Beck for pulling that stunt. He had plenty of other important issues to fill his lousy air time with. That’s when I really lost any tiny bit of respect i had for Glenn Beck. He had an opportunity to rise up as a decent man and show people how wrong it is to scorn our fellow man over things like this, but instead he used it to heap scorn and derision on someone he does not even know. It was shameful and he owes that woman an apology.

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 1:31pmSorry, but I’m looking for solutions that have staying power. Look at this site, look how few here adhere to the 8/28 event’s message now, I mean c’mon? Having a right wing hippy lovey hug fest will feel good and all at the time, but in a month everybody will be back to barking at each other and planning for revolution, whether they mean to instigate it or defend against it. We need ideas now based on logic, reason and hard fact, not more elimp wristed ffeminate emotionalism. Emotions are a guide that something is wrong or right, they are NOT the way to solve problems.
It’s hard medicine to swallow folks, but we’re not going to smootch and hug our way out of this. Be nice to the tyrant when he knocks at your door, do you think you’re going to move his heart? Say an OWS zombie mob shows up outside your door, do you think inviting them in for cookies is going to make them change their hearts? Really?
Real plans based on logic, reason and a cold objective analysis of the situation. Thinking with emotions instead of our intellects is what got us Obama, let’s not make the same tragic mistake again.

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 1:31pm@downthewell – I’ve been reading comments here for a while and finally signed up just to respond to you, so I guess you’ll feel happy that you are getting more of the attention you crave.
I see you on here every day. You are obsessed. YOU are the one who is filled with hate. You do exactly that which you say you are against. You are a total hypocrite. If you are against “hate-filled diatribes” as you might call them, then stop with them here. How is what you are doing bringing more understanding, love, or peace to the world? It’s doing nothing except feed your own hatred. You are on the “Dark Side of the Force” whether you realize it or not.
You often say Glenn Beck is a racist, except you’ve obviously never watched GBTV, because if you did, you’d understand that Amy Holmes, who is the Blaze News Anchor, and appears on Glenn’s show daily, is a black woman! Raj, who does Liberty Treehouse, is a handsome dark-skinned man who appears to have middle eastern blood in him (or something, I’m not sure – he’s not white though!)
If you actually watched Glenn Beck’s television show, vs. just clips of his radio show, you‘d see him saying he’s not Jesus and he gets that he’s human and needs to “rant” sometimes like we all do.
Now – let me share a secret with you – I don’t agree with everything Glenn Beck says. But part of the reason I pay for a GBTV subscription is that I think he does more good than harm, and by doing so, it makes heads like yours explode.

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 2:55pm@downthewell – please explain how a “racist” would hire a BLACK WOMAN to anchor his news show? You can’t. To claim that somehow I’ve been “fooled” by Beck hiring people of color for prominent positions on his television network is absolute nonsense. You don’t have a leg to stand on and you know it.
You don’t know who I am, and yet proclaim to judge that I know nothing about racism? Are you kidding me? If all I know is this – that no racist would hire a black woman to present his news, or a middle eastern guy to do his children’s show, that’s enough. If you are going to say with a straight face that Beck is still a racist after knowing that? Then you are simply lying and drawing on straws.
As for “intelligent thinking persons” having issues with Glenn Beck, so far, you have not shown you are either. Your comments here are hateful, rude and juvenile, and you do not show any independent thinking whatsoever. All you can do is come on here and spew hate on each and every story you’ve commented on. Posted on December 8, 2011 at 4:12pmBen Franklin did not give his definition of The American Religion in a vacuum. The new nation was Judaic-Christian, and lets face it Christians follow a radical Jew Rabbi. Same God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Jesus. We dance around it, and we must stop the dance. Christians know the answer is Jesus. Our Jewish spiritual cousins must know we respect and love them, and many of us are willing to stand will Israel. Because that is what Jesus would do.
Therefore, when Jesus said, “those that profess Me before men I will profess to my Father in Heaven. And those that deny Me before men I will deny before My Father in Heaven.” The One Way out of this mess is a revival in the same spirit as the Jesus Movement of the late 60′s. If not this nation is headed One Way and it is not the One Way Larry Norman sang about.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but sounds like another event that pays Glenn a big salary, his friends a big salary and then the 5% that is left over to a charity or two.
This is like those “charity” phone calls where, if you look ask (and in some states they are required to tell you), if you donate $10, 25 cents goes to charity, the rest to the organizers. Whatever charity is getting the 25 cents is happy to get it, but mostly enriches those who are raising the money.
If this isn’t just another scam, maybe we’ll here about what percentage goes to the charities and what percentage goes to paying Glenn and the organizers. My guess? You’ll never hear that.

Maybe the people on this site don’t like what you say here. Should we therefore tar and feather you and run you out of the country? But guess what – I believe in free speech. So you can spew your hate here and I’ll exercise my right to free speech and respond to it – but I won’t wish death, exile, or pain upon you. Seriously, do you ever take a look at the mirror? You accuse Glenn Beck of doing exactly that which you do, which is spew hatred. Are you serious? You think you’re better because you label your obvious hatred as “disgust”? And you call for him to be tarred and feathered and run out of the country and yet claim some moral high ground?
So if you don’t have “loathing” for Glenn, WHY on earth are you here, every single day, posting diatribes against him? WHAT do you hope to accomplish? What is your purpose?
You’re a bit of a joke, except you are so obviously obsessed that I‘m seriously concerned that when you aren’t on the site, you are writing death threats to Glenn.
But I’ll engage with you here, to see how “delusional” you are about your own hatred, bigotry, prejudice and fear-mongering. I’m curious as to how far your self-delusion goes…how many excuses you will

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 1:44pmIt’s an answer for personal salvation. It’s also a sure path to the gas chambers. The people we’re up against have a long history of genocide. We’re in their sites right now. You can love them until the cows come home, and they‘ll be happy that you do as they’re leading you to the cattle cars with your family. You can’t love somebody, and shoot them, in a Christ like way. The advice for the slave was not to resist, but to show through example Christ’s love. I expect the same would be said of any political resistance. So the die would be cast, a willingness to be gassed along with your family, but hey, God will greet you in heaven with a big thumb’s up.
Don’t get me wrong, if that’s your choice I respect it, and it really would accord with Biblical principles. But if you wish to make it through this, well, I dunno guy. Posted on December 8, 2011 at 3:30pmHmmm…how much money are you putting into the funding for this? (Rhetorical question). See, here in this Constitutional Republic, the person who is putting the events together and paying for them, get to determine where the profits go. Glenn is taking a risk with his money. You see, he has done 2 of these already and he has gone across country to do workshops. All those are successful and this seems to be a cross between his “restoring” events and his workshop tours. So the risk is that people really are tightening their budget and have already been to one of his events and workshop, and will not go to this one. If that is the case, he loses big. Are you willing to reimburse him if he loses?
If people go and its sold out, then he will likely make a profit. If he wants to put the profit in his pocket, that is his right. Its called, “earning”. Barbra Streisand does the same thing by singing and giving her left wing views.

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 11:20amDon’t you know that there are always costs and anyone that does not want to bear the cost is free not to attend. There will be a limited number of seats available and people that are willing to pay should have a seat before those that are not.
I must ask you. do you go to work only out of pure altruism or is there some self interest involved?

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 11:34amA salary for an organizer is not a profit, it is a cost. Profit would be everything above the cost of putting on the event.

Posted on December 8, 2011 at 10:39pmDo you get paid for your job? I think most people believe that they should get a paycheck for an honest days work. You are not making any sense. No, a salary is not a profit, it is an exchange for services rendered.

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 1:01am…..And another thing, being a good Christian does not mean we are required to be nice, or PC when facing down evil. It is quite the opposite.
Report Post »As a Christian, I am fed up with people like you, telling me I am supposed to be nice to people who openly mock my faith. The majority of the regular posters on The Blaze are also fed up with multiculturalism, socialist liberals (like you) trying to make the rules. So, as you might expect we tend to vent our anger and frustration in colorful, passionate tirades. Be thankful we only attack you with words…….for now.

Posted on December 9, 2011 at 10:49amWell said Wireman24. It‘s really refreshing to see more and more people wake up and see through Beck’s veil of BS. I may as well thank all of you who have sent me emails supporting my comments on The Blaze and Twitter that have exposed who Glenn Beck really is and what he is up to. The rest of you need to wake up too and realize how Glenn Beck uses you as props to position himself as being on the same level as MLK, Gandhi and other historical figures.

Posted on April 11, 2012 at 8:57pmIf you accuse Glenn Beck of “polarizing the nation”, then you must also accuse the president of the same offense when he identified Treyvon as being what his son would look like. At least be able to see that Beck is attempting to unify everyone in this country (I was at the 8-28 event, and it was very much an amazing, unifying event,) while Obama makes comments that separate and polarize this country, (i.e., the police acted stupidly; his son would have looked like Treyvon, etc, ad nauseum). Why is Obama even making these comments? It shows that he (Obama) wants to pit “us” against “them”, just as he is using class warfare to separate rich from poor. Beck only wants to alert us to current events. One cannot argue with that…at least not intelligently. I listen to Beck every day on his gbtv.com program, and I also watch the big 3 news broadcasts. No contest for the truth. Obama-0…Beck-100%.
