Rev. Wright Backs Farrakhan During Anti-Violence Church Sermon: ‘You Can’t Tell Me Who My Friend Is’

On Sunday, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, President Barack Obama’s former faith leader, took to the pulpit at New Tabernacle Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. Aside from addressing the deadly violence that has taken the city by storm, Wright publicly defended the Minister Louis Farrakhan and lectured African Americans about preventing black-on-black violence.

The solution to the uptick in the chaos, Wright told the audience at the church’s anti-violence program, is a combination of citizens — and government – getting involved to alleviate it. But government, regardless of which side of the aisle is elected, isn’t the end-all-be-all solution, he maintained.

“Some of these things have to do with the government and some of these things have to do with our relationships with each other,” he said, according to The Chicago Sun-Times. “Neither Martin Luther King nor Barack Hussein Obama can change the systemic evil…Let me put it another way — don’t think a change in government will straighten this situation out.”

The audience of 75 included at least one leader from the Chicago Teachers Union and representatives from Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam (NOI), among others. Considering this latter group’s presence — and Farrakhan’s supposedly-warn relations with Wright — it’s interesting to note the subsequent, pro-Farrakhan comments that were made.

While the two faith leaders may be friends, both have received a plethora of negative attention for alleged anti-Semitism and often-racially-charged messaging. The fact that Wright essentially backed Farrakhan during the speech — aligning himself with the NOI leader — could create more controversy for the duo, although neither individual has been particular dissuaded by others’ critiques of their rhetoric.

“Oh don’t mention Mr. Farrakhan, come on y’all,” Wright proclaimed to applause.

“A lot of preachers are afraid to say Mr. Farrakhan is a friend of mine. You can’t tell me who my friend is,” the fiery faith leader continued.

Wright made these comments while speaking about NOI’s recent anti-violence activities in Chicago. At the end of July, Farrakhan participated in a march in an apparent effort to encourage youths to avoid lives of crime. While Wright has accolades for Farrakhan, TheBlaze’s Erica Ritz noted that NOI adherents went door-to-door handing out a controversial (i.e. racially-charged) DVD sermon by Farrakhan called “Justifiable Homicide: Youth in Peril.”

Here’s a past address during which Farrakhan addressed these themes:

Despite the faith leader’s controversial nature, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel also recently released a statement in support of the NOI’s efforts.

“They have decided, the Nation of Islam, to help protect [the] community and that’s an important ingredient like all the other aspects of protecting a neighborhood,” Emanuel said.

Chicago has faced a slew of violence in recent months. At the end of July, NPR provided a recap of just how dire the situation is:

This has been a summer of blood, sweat and tears in Chicago. The city has been scorched by historic heat, and the homicide rate has soared. When the sun goes down behind the glimmering lakeshore skyline, blocks on the South and West Side of the city can ring with shots and sirens.

The streets of neighborhoods like Englewood, Grand Crossing and Garfield Park are empty, even during the day. In the middle of this summer, it is rare to see a child ride a bike or walk a dog.

“A child should not have to say, ‘I can’t go out because I might get shot.’” resident Michelle Harris says at a community meeting at the Englewood police station. “That’s bad, that’s bad.”

In the end, local leaders are apparently encouraging any and all individuals of influence — including Farrakhan and Wright — to be involved in efforts to keep the peace. However, it’s worth asking if the sometimes-virulent messages that these individuals embrace will be transferred to those youths who may encounter their sermons and views.

I read the same thing in the Bible. God said he would destroy all that comes against Israel and it does not matter what Farrakhan, Rev. Right, Alla Akbar, Mohammed or Obama says. God said the whole world will come against Israel and he also said that when the dust settles Jerusalem and the Nation of Israel will still be standing.

Just think, what the world would be like without Muslims, Wright, Farrakhan, Mohammed followers, Satan and even Obama and his followers. God promised to those that believe in Jesus and not Mohammed or Men will live on Earth for 1000 years, before entering eternity, and Jesus will be in charge – not Obama or any of these other two bit false prophets.

Last time I checked, Mohammed was still in his grave and Jesus’ tomb is empty. In fact, people line up by the 1000′s every day to see the empty tomb that Jesus laid in for 3 days.

Gee I wonder if this will lead the Democrats to declare another one of their “ Crisis ” Acts . You know, like the “ Housing Crisis ” that led Barney Frank to call for more government involvement in the housing market. You know HR 3995 The Housing Affordability For America Act of 2002 which insisted that America was having a HOUSING CRISIS in low cost housing so, naturally, the GOVERNMENT must get involved with taxpayers’ money and pressure on the banks . Just the icing on the cake to blow up the economy with bad loans. Just the icing on the cake for the original baking done by the Democrats during the Clinton years when they repealed Glass-Steagall and loosened lending regulations which led to a ” permissive lending environment .” Democrats always make good use of those frequently so-called ” Crisis! “

Neither King nor Obama can stop the systemic Evil….

However, King stood against it with earnest criticisms while proposing viable solutions. Obama wallows in the evil corruption and lies whenever he is out of camera range, and condemns it all, piously, when he is in front of the public.

Reverend Martin Luther King wouldn’t have invited either of these individuals to break bread at his dinner table. Both afore-mentioned individuals are the polar opposite of everything Dr. King stood for.

Thankfully, the American people have awakened and fully realize that Mr. Farrakhan hates Jews, white people and ‘infidels’. He promotes violence in the streets and considered bin Laden his ‘friend’. ‘Reverend’ Wright hates Jews, white people and anyone who has achieved wealth…unless it happens to be someone with his skin color.

Neither of these men consider honorable men, such as Allen West or Thomas Sowell, ‘black’, and consistently demean them and any other black conservative.

As previously stated, thank God the American public is smart enough to know that Wright and Farrakhan don’t have an ounce of integrity, honesty or honor in their characters.

Now here is a strange confederacy: Wright and Farrakhan, as they preach non violence with one half of the tongue, and with the other incite and promote violence. THey are certainly preaching to their choir, and will no doubt not gain new diciples.

Their act is old, but a compliant media keeps it fresh. Would it be asking too much if they both would just go away? And, if Obama, the head cheerleader is out of a job, these two will have yet louder voices and a new cause.

The Black Muslims went out of the limelight after making headlines with their nasty hate back in the 1960s. Seems the Obama presidency has brought them forth again. Sort of like the Black Panthers have reawakened as the NEW Black Panthers . Rather ironic that a bi-racial president’s election did this…

      agreed barber-
and it also appears that the obama presidency has created a CLIMATE in which all kind of mischievousness has thrived-
      -E Holder and weak borders
      -Brian Terry
-the gay lifestyle is very much alive and perpetuated(it has always been alive, but not perpetuated)
      -the volatile rise of Muslimhood
      -the attack on Sheriff Arpeio
      -’you didnt build that…’
      -the class warfare act
-the adoration of the media for the boy king
-time fails to cite the desire for ‘change’ from what is good, to nefarious desires.

I for one, think that the leftists hate the Constitution, the declaration of INDEPENDANCE, and the true American history of the west, (that is men with arms) as well as progress WITHOUT the govt, as well as a subtle attack on the english language. (Mexican, Islam, etc)

If only these two so-called religious leaders would realize that their basic dedication to hating “whitey ” and to blaming the white culture for all of their woes is the very basis for the violence in their communities. Hate is a powerful influencer of behavior. Just the kind of behavior they are trying to change.

Why Rev. Wright is so adament about this, and won’t back down, he simply doesn’t know how to Unfriend someone on facebook, therefore, his statement “you won’t tell me who my friends are.”

Obama figured out how to unfriend these two racist POS’s but unfortunetly, they are chained together by their Prince Alberts and can’t deviate direction, lest one another looses their balls.

The worse thing about these 2, Father Flaggar makes them play Alter Boy with him every Friday night, and they just can’t forgive the “White Man” for what he does.
