Rev. Wright Reportedly Endorses March on Jerusalem to End the Israeli Occupation

Nearly four years ago, Rev. Jeremiah Wright stunned the American people with his harsh and racially-charged words. Now, just months before his former congregant Barack Obama is up for presidential re-election, the faith leader is back in the headlines. Wright is reportedly endorsing the “March to Jerusalem,” a radical, anti-Israel event planned for later this month.

IsraelNationalNews.com has more about what’s being planned:

Mr. Zaher Birawi, Spokesman for the ‘Global March to Jerusalem,’ an initiative that aims at getting over one million Arabs and their supporters to attempt to infiltrate Israel’s borders on March 30th, said that the initiative “demand[s] freedom for Palestine and its capital Jerusalem.”

He claimed that the campaign is “an international coalition of hundreds of organizations,” which plans on amassing organizers from the bordering countries of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan and also organizing protests in countries worldwide.

Here’s how the Global March to Jerusalem web site describes its efforts:

We aim to make this march a turning point in the nature of the confrontation, with the occupation having to face millions of protesters and demonstrators demanding Freedom for Palestine and its capitol Jerusalem. We will make a renewed true effort towards ending the occupation through peaceful national movements inspired firstly by our convictions, secondly by the justice of our cause, and thirdly by the spirit of the Arab spring revolutions and the determination of young people who were able to overthrow dictatorships. Especially now that the nations have realized the magical effect of the people’s will to make the impossible possible. The advancing slogan, “the people demand,” has proved to be more effective than armies and weapons.

Plainly stated: This isn’t a positive development for the Israeli state, although these sorts of assaults are common in the region. Wright, who was Obama’s pastor for 20 years at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, is listed on the group’s web site as an American personality who is endorsing the march. According to IsraelNationalNews.com, the White House has declined to comment regarding Wright’s endorsement. In all fairness, it would seem a bit odd for Obama, from a tactical and practical standpoint, to weigh in. To begin with, questions regarding the president’s allegiance to Israel already exist. Additionally, he no longer attends Trinity and Wright is no longer the faith leader at the church.

Still, the endorsement of such a radical effort does cause one to wonder if Obama’s claim that he never heard Wright speak harshly or offensively as a congregant is true. After all, the faith leader has a track record of making some pretty unsavory comments about the Jewish people.

Rev. Wright Reportedly Endorses March on Jerusalem to End the Israeli Occupation

In 2009, the Anti-Defamation League dubbed Wright a “messenger of intolerance” and recapped some of his comments and statements that the group saw as inflammatory and discriminatory against Jews:

Wright blamed Jews for the fact that he has been out of touch with President Barack Obama in an interview with theDaily Press, a Newport News, Virginia-based newspaper, on June 9. Wright noted that “them Jews aren’t going to let him talk to me.”

In the same interview, Wright asserted that Israel is committing ethnic cleansing in Gaza, which he described as “a sin and a crime against humanity,” and expressed his belief that the Obama Administration would have sent a U.S. delegation to the 2009 Durban Review Conference in April if not for fear of losing “the Jewish vote, the A-I-P-A-C vote, that’s controlling him.”

Wright later stated that he misspoke and that he did not mean to refer to Jews, but rather Zionists. “I’m not talking about all Jews, all people of the Jewish faith, I’m talking about Zionists,” Wright said. 

The National Conference of Jewish Affairs, among others, is condemning Wright’s purported endorsement. So far, the former reverend hasn’t announced his support on his official web site, but his name appearing on the group’s web site is enough to cause angst.

      No, it isn’t a positive development for Israel.

      With a million people near the Israeli border, it doesn’t seem likely the Israelis could stop them from pushing across en masse if they decided to do so.

      If they use whatever force is necessary, in all probability there would be many deaths, which would be an image nightmare for Israel.

      If they used tear gas, it could backfire and cause a stampede into Israel. A million people is far too many for water cannons. Israel doesn’t have sound machines or heat weapons as does the US military, so those options are out.

      I’m not sure what kind of damage might occur if the crowd gets out-of-control, but if it gets aggressive and violent, Israel just might be inundated.

      The “reverend” and his BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY people speak for themselves.
      Take the first word – BLACK – That in itself says all others not included. (Can you imagine if a WHITE LIBERATION THEOLOGY church opened it’s doors – what kind of rant would happen?)
      Take the second word – LIBERATION – liberated from what? If the liberation is from racism it is against the law to hire or not hire, fire or not fire based on race. If it is from salvery, that also is against the law. So, what is the meaning behind the word, LIBERATION?
      Lastly we have THEOLOGY – a belief system that one puts their faith into due to the God they worship – study of; One would hve to know what God the BLT has it’s faith in – The Christian God or humanism.

When the few are silenced forever, and the evil in them is destroyed, and sent to God to be judged, then we can control the influence of the enemy within our borders.     Since THE BLAZE has refrained from commented on the Romneyites, I will here off topic. It’s a doggone shame that the GOP establishment has set up the primary in such a way that they are trying to shove Romney down the throats of the conservative movement. All the press is pro-Romney. The sad thing is they think if they get Romney nominated the conservatives will have no choice but to vote for Romney when the other choice is Obama. I think there calculations are wrong. The real conservatives will not vote for Obama or Romney, they’ll vote for a 3rd party of stay home. You know what that’s gonna do, put Obama back in for 4 more years. You can blame all that on the dumb butted people who think they can pick the GOP candidate against the wishes of the people in their primary rules schemes. I will not vote for Romney if he chooses Santorum or Newt as VP. I will vote for Santorum or Newt if they are the nominee. I think that thought will have lots of company come the general election! By the way Ron Paul is as bad as Romney!

      The problem lies herein. What the Rs needed for a candidate is a fiscal conservative to run for office. None did.
      The RINO Kennedy-Democrat Romney (Mr. GQ) is the closest thing to a fiscal guy. I think he likes hearing himself talk…something NoBama likes, too.
      Santorum is a social conservative who only discusses topics like abortion, etc., as his main talking points. He has not displayed ANY comprehensive plan on fiscal poilcies. Santorum scares the bejezars out of the moderate left, where the votes are needed.

      If a candidate came in and talked about fiscal policies only, gave social ideals lip service, and just plain lied about abortion etc., as NoBama did, he would be a strong candidate, but the hubris of self-rightness of all the candidates ( Gingrich?) is sinking the Rs ship because of all the fodder that is handed to the LSM. Again, I wish Paul had some non-isolationist sense.
      Politicans have become so about themselves and not the country. Look at Rubio or others that stayed home. A brokered convention is not an improbable event.
      I wouldn’t be suprised if someone like a Palin (a fiscal conservative) is courted as a candidate at the convention…isn’t she putting together a vehicle for such? What more could the left throw at her?
      Anyway, ALL the candidates running are offbase on their topics.
      All the cookies have left the jar and the jar is empty. No monies without monitization are left.

      YOu are incorrect, when you use the term “all”. I am a conservative and if Romney is the candidate, I will, indeed, vote for him. I will stand behind and vote for any of them, should they win the nomination. This “its my guy or I’m not voting” mindset will get us another guaranteed 4 more years of Obama, at which time, after those 4 years, none of us will recognize the America we grew up in.

    When you see the ‘Rev” Wright….you see obama. When you hear Rev. Wright…you hear obama. Obama agrees with Wright enough to attend his church for 20 years…give tithe to it,…and have Wright baptize his daughters. Wright equals obama and visa versa.

      VERY CLEAR – Obama’s spiritual adviser and teacher for 18 years – just stated that he would turn his back on the Apple of Gods Eye – This is not the first time Rev Write has said this – Obama has to agree – If I was in a Church that made that statement – I would have gotten up and left.

      I have read the Bible and many Christians possible have not – If you support Obama then you must stop now – Obama is coming out of the Satan closet intentionally and God is taking note – you have been warned.

      I am not trying to be Harsh – but America is in a Spiritual Battle – God warned us this would happen.

    I don’t what bible this man follows, but it sure ain’t the one I read and follow. Jerusalem is the Capitol of Israel. So the world is supposed to ignore history, or disregard it. Palistine was named that by the Romans, when Israel fell in 70 AD, as revenge by the Romans.

    Jeremiah: repent. You are acting like the leader of the mixed multitude who raised a golden calf while Moses was receiving the 10 commandments. Ours is a calling to FOLLOW God.
