Every time they do a report on personal charitable contributions from the Members of Congress it shows that the Republican side gives more and that the Democrat side is quite miserly even though the Democrat side is the richer with John Kerry‘s wife’s money making him the wealthiest…. just sayin’.

Not just in congress, it’s all across the population. They feel like they are being “good people” by donating your money but not their own.

I think Newt Gingrich is right. Bring the capital gains tax down to 0%. Why should the rich have to pay taxes on their investment income. Taxes are more for those who do manual labor type jobs not for executive positions. It’s part of survival of the fittest. The smart ones figure out how to pay less taxes and the dumb ones pay more taxes. Obviously people making millions of dollars a year are the smart ones and thus should pay no taxes whatsoever.

Let’s just settle this once and for all. If you are liberal you should be taxed at 75%. That should make you happy. Oh wait, liberals aren’t happy unless they make others miserable. – never mind.

So whats the definition of “Rich” this week? I’m betting someone that makes more than Steven King, and when that doesn’t work whats the next step? Someone or a household that makes more than 75k a year? The solution is to cut spending for christ’s sake how simple is that? Eliminate the dozens of Federal Agencies and Dept‘s that aren’t supposed to exist in the first place for a start how about that? Oh and Steven go back to making bad movies and shut the he11 up.

If your going to say “Pay what you spent to get elected in taxes” then Obama would have to come up with around 1 billion dollars. Politicans wouldn’t be happy. Worst part, If Stephen King sent 50% of his money to the IRS for taxes they would sent back what he overpaid. Why can’t he give it charities of his choice and not take the deduction?

Steven no one says that you can’t pay 50% if you want. So go ahead and 50% and leave others to do what they want to do with THEIR MONEY. It isn’t the Governments money. For one thing there is no accountability of the money the government spends. There is so much waste with what they already take why should we let them have more to squander away

Yea… he’s allowed to give extra money to the government and refuse a return… You don’t HAVE to give 22% to charity if you would rather just give it to Uncle Sam. So why does he do charity instead? Cuz it puts the money where he would prefer it… Kinda made the conservative point right there.

These guys are easily confused. Telling them to write a check in addition to the regular tax bill befuddles them.

It should be simplified. There needs to be a line on the tax form that says, “I would like to pay ____% more than my current tax liability. Please bill me.”

A driver with a terrible history of driving, was reaching into the backseat to stop his dog from getting into a cooler of food, not looking where he was going, came over a rise and plowed into Mr. King causing him horrible injuries…such as pelvis and hips almost turned backwards. The driver killed himself later on before he would have gone to jail and/or sued into oblivion.

So exactly what does this have to do with anything regarding his political views? And again, yes…I think he’s wrong.

He gives a LOT to charity. And he does some very nice things that are inexpensive (for him) as well…such as chartering a bus for a bunch of soldiers this past xmas so they could get home when all the flights were canceled due to the bad weather.

So…bash his views, but not his personal dedication to his own theories. Yes, I think he is wrong though.

Does anyone remember the big difference in McCain/Palin vs Obama/Biden charity contributions. Sarah alone gave many times over what O/B did combined. Progressives are always accusing conservatives of what they, themselves, are doing to draw attention away from their unaccomplishments.

he mentioned that Reagan “ONCE” put on his taxes that he gave 10,000 to charity…when was that?? as President?
at the time Reagan was President, the President was paid 225,000 a year. That means Reagan was giving about 4.5%…less then the 10% God asks…but maybe Ronnie gave at his home church here in CA on top of that….I don’t know…

And why isn’t oh Stephen the King of Stupidity talking about his boy in the White House now…. there hasn’t been a year on file that Obama has released information for…which he hides as much as possible…every President before him released ALL their returns, not just those during his Presidential term…but there hasn’t been a year we know of where Obama has given more than 50,000 and in 2009 the Obama’s reported income of just over $4 Million….that means Obama is giving…ummm…lets see Stephen…hmmm….. 1.2%… wow…Regan gave 3 times what Obama did…
