His own success in reforming California‘s welfare system and getting people off the dole and into jobs would have been impossible with Carter’s federal proposals. What better a place than poor Mississippi to bring up how their state could do better than what the feds could do, if only they had the freedom to pursue their own solutions. It had NOTHING to do with race. Rational, literate observers of the Reagan presidency know by his treatment of all Americans as equals, that Reagan was quite the opposite of a racist.

He could have gone to Oxford and opened it at Faulkner’s home, thus sending a message to lovers of literature.
He could have gone to Hattiesburg and spoken at Camp Shelby, or to the shipyard at Pascagoula, which would have tied in nicely with his promise to rebuild the military.
Instead he went to Philadelphia, which was known nationally for one thing and one thing only.

In the reality everyone who ever did their vocabulary definition in school knows Nazi is not a “racist” term.
The Nazis based their ideology of National Socialism on their original ideology of Racialism, can proceeded to carry forth their vision of National Socialism based on race, but a person can be considered a National Socialist based on a number of other ideologies outside of race, i.e religion.
You really ought to read a dictionary or something instead of trying to get my “number”.
