Rick Perry Disqualified From Virginia Primary Ballot

Texas Gov. Rick Perry‘s name will not appear on Virginia’s GOP presidential primary ballot, the Republican Party of Virginia said Friday.
Perry’s campaign failed to gather the 10,000 signatures required to qualify for the ballot, state GOP officials said.
“After verification, RPV has determined that Rick Perry did not submit the required 10k signatures and has not qualified for the VA primary,” the Virginia Republican Party announced on Twitter.
According to the Washington Post, Perry, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Rep. Ron Paul all submitted thousands of signatures for verification Thursday.
Officials certified both Romney and Paul for the ballot Friday. Gingrich’s signatures were expected to be examined by late Friday night.
According to the Post, Romney’s campaign told state election officials it had gathered 11,911 signatures, but a source said it turned in fewer than the required 10,000. State election rules dictate a candidate must turn in signatures from 10,000 registered voters that include 400 from each of the state’s 11 congressional districts.
Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman did not turn in signatures and therefore failed to qualify.
Virginia will hold its presidential primary on Super Tuesday, March 6.

Report Post »The anti-Palins say she is polarizing, but never explain why. At least, if they have, they then never say why Obama is not.
The problem is that American voters are not astute enough to understand what, exactly, is at stake. Many here are, but this site is not a good representation of the general population’s knowledge of how serious the problems are that we face.
Another 4 years of Obama will show you what he meant when he said “fundamental transformation.”

Posted on December 24, 2011 at 4:13amCannot get on the ballot. Next!
Romney – big government “Republicrat”, calls himself a “progressive”, etc. NEXT!
Ron Paul:
- wants to “legalize” the Constitution by actually holding the government to it. Check!
- predicted the housing crisis, and wants to fix the root causes of it – the FED and various forms of government interference in the economy. Check!
- wants a foreign policy that ends undeclared wars and protects America first – a policy supported by ex-CIA agents and bureaucrats warning of BLOWBACK, and earns Paul the most money raised by active duty military among ALL the candidates (on both sides of the aisle). Check!
Seems to me the choice is clear. And since these are the only candidates that even got on the ballot in Virginia (and other states, where Gingrich especially has had problems), they seem to be the only ones that can win at all.

However, we must respect her choice not to do so.

All the gripes against her a FABRICATED.
You ask a socialist democrat why they hate her, and listen to the answers… they have none.
Give me a man or woman who LOVES GOD, who FEARS GOD, who LOVES this nation, who LOVES The Constitution, and who has a record of honesty and frugality and cutting waste and strict adherence to law and to The Constitution. I do not demand they pass a written geography exam.
If their HEART is pure, they can surround themselves with ADVISORS to fill in the rest.
Sarah was RUN out of office by socialist democrats who were filing a new lawsuit against here DAILY – YES, DAILY – LITERALLY ! She could not function as Governor while defending against the suits. Interestingly, AS SOON as she resigned, the lawsuits SUDDENLY CEASED !
The biggest issue is, we need campaign finance reform. We need an amendment that limits contributions to $100 per person. Outlaw all PACs and all lobbyists. Prohibit donations from unions, corporations, or non-profits, etc. ONE MAN, ONE VOTE = ONE MAN, ONE DONATION. Then, you and I will have JUST AS MUCH say in our choice as soros or clooney or spielberg, and MORE say than NEA or GE or EXXON or BLACKWATER.

Posted on December 24, 2011 at 4:18amYou can’t run as a write in for the primaries, only the general election. And running as a write in for the general election gives you less of a chance to win, in most cases, than running as a third party.

But what he can do best is manage this country as a business. This nation is a business, and this nation needs to elect a manager to put in the front office in the place of a “cashier”.
The two fundamentals the voting public needs to concentrate is economy and border. Corporations have been moving here, Texas; the past ten because of the lack of taxes and Bush. Additional Both Bush and Perry could have shut the border down and choose not to exercise absolute measures to achieve that goal.

Despite aggressive efforts collecting thousands of Virginia signatures after Governor Perry’s mid-August entry into the race, we were notified this evening of apparently falling short of the 10,000 voter signatures needed to qualify. We will closely review the facts and law to determine whether an appeal or challenge is warranted.
This is an isolated situation and does not impact Governor Perry qualifying for the ballot in every other state.
Gov Perry has the utmost respect for the strong place Virginia holds in our nation’s economic and military strength and in American history He will continue to work hard to build strong support in Virginia and earn the trust of conservative-minded voters there.

As evident by these three elements of his life — his wife being a nurse, his parents having cancer and the young woman above — it is apparent that Rick Perry was honest in his intent; but he handled it wrong. In my opinion, it should have been done by law and not be executive order: but he didn’t, and he’s consistently apologized for that mistake. By the time it had been vetoed, not a single person was vaccinated and Rick Perry didn’t push the issue again– he respected the people’s choice. Isn’t it time we had this in Washington, D.C.? In my mind, it’s more of a pro than a con.

“Vote for Paul and take home a copy of your vote. If you are really thinking that the voting will be rigged”…………
I don’t “think” that the voting will be rigged…I know it will be rigged!
When we have elections that resemble third-world elections, we are in BIG trouble.
Eric Holder’s DOJ will see to it that Obama gets every vote he deserves, and every vote he doesn’t.
I’m telling you all to read J Christian Adams book “Injustice”.
The ‘voters section’ of the DOJ is mobilizing to steal the election.
Adams worked in that division of the DOJ for 5 years, and he knows whats going on with Holder and his racially-motivated agenda.

‘Run as a write-in candidate. Worked for Murkowski.’

You know why it worked for her? Because she was competent and decent, and people wanted to vote for her. No one feels that way about Rick Perry.

Not even close. Joe Miller was the competent and decent one. Murkowski was back by the unions who pushed and won it for her, just like the unions came through for Harry Reid.

And TumbleBumble just gave you the correct answer.

Posted on December 23, 2011 at 9:25pm@unsafe, Is English your native language or did you just fail Grammar in high school? If you‘re trying to imply that Virginia voters aren’t intelligent because they voted for Barack Obama, you might want to brush up on grammar and vocabulary, otherwise, you just look bad.

Posted on December 26, 2011 at 6:40pmAsybot12, Congratulations on being a polyglot. No, I was born in 1960. I find it supremely ironic that someone would accuse me of pettiness for having an interest in language and then stoop to such simpering snideness and petty sarcasm.
@Sissykatz, Oh, well, I guess you must be the manners Nazi, then. I used to teach English, History, and Government, in a Defense Department school overseas. Most of my non-native English speakers could manage to conjugate their verbs and manage their pronouns better than unsafe. Anything worth saying is worth saying correctly. Someone deriding a whole state for their intelligence should do so with correct form, otherwise it only makes them look petty as well as uneducated. Unsafe’s post is so riddled with grammatical errors as to be nearly unintelligble, it wasn’t a “mistake”, it shows a profound lack of understanding for basic English grammar. TeaCons are well known for their misspelled signs and incoherent complaining.
