Rick Perry Releases New “Faith” Ad in Iowa

Less than five weeks before the Iowa caucuses, GOP presidential candidate Texas Governor Rick Perry is stressing his credentials as a person of deep Christian faith in a new ad airing in Iowa television markets.
“America’s greatest leaders have been people of strong faith, strong values. That makes for a strong America. I’m Rick Perry. I’m not ashamed to talk about my faith,” says the Texas governor in the 30 second video. Perry is a Methodist who attends an evangelical megachurch. Evangelical Christians make up approximately 60 percent of voters in Iowa’s GOP caucus.
The Family Leader, a key evangelical group in the early caucus state, announced in November that they had narrowed their endorsement down to Perry, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann. Herman Cain, who suspended his campaign Saturday, was polling at a 14.3 percent average in Iowa. AP analysis reports that the ad referencing Perry’s faith is aimed at cutting off evangelical support in Iowa from going to Gingrich, who recently converted to Catholicism, has been married three times and acknowledged infidelity in his first two marriages.
Perry has been very public about his faith from the launch of his campaign, having hosted a major prayer gathering in August a week before declaring his presidential candidacy. The event drew 30,000 attendees, and Perry was criticized by some at the time for using his authority as a public official to promote a religious event.

Posted on December 4, 2011 at 12:48amI have been a Perry supporter for some time now and I just think that he will end up rising back up to the top and staying there. We all know and accept the fact that he is not a very good debater but I could care less about that because it is his principles and his proven success in Texas over the years.

Posted on December 4, 2011 at 2:30amDisagree with you LIBERTARIAN. God is not used for political gain by Perry but he is expressing that God is in his life and we definately need a man or woman leading this nation that is lead by God. God is in everything we gain whether we choose for Him to be or not. If we do choose to let Him lead us our gain will be good and if we turn from Him…well you can look around and see what that has done to our nation.

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 10:31pmRon Paul is the only true Constitutionalist. He is also trustworthy, and, has the voting record to prove it. There are no ‘special interests’ when it comes to Dr. Paul, except when those interests are of the American people — Unlike Newt Gingrich. Paul is not a ‘pretty boy’ like Romney. Or ‘slow speaker’ like Perry. If you want to vote for someone who can fix this country, vote for Ron Paul. Please take the time to see where he stands on the issues at ronpaul2012.com. Don’t make a mistake like in 2008… Vote the candidate who is the ink of the Constitution…

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 11:27pmThat right, people, Cain is out, Perry is out. Don’t let the Democrats fool you into compromising. They are the ones behind trying to deceive you to vote for Newt and Romney. They are the ones that are going to be going to the polls to try to vote them onto the Republican ticket so they can have an easy win for Obama. Spread the word and get prepared to vote in the primary elections for Dr. Ron Paul. They don’t give him coverage because they are afraid of him and know he can win against Obama. If we get him on the ticket the media will be forced to give him airtime and spread his message.

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 10:18pmThe only conservatives left are Bachman and Santorum. They have been consistent and actually plan to ACT, unlike Perry, Romney and Gingrich. Paul is right on fiscal issues, but his foreign policy is suicide. Sarah is pointing to Santorum as a consistant conservative. Are we going to listen to the MSM about who is electable? So I guess we can just continue borrowing hundreds of billions and trillions a year to continue our current foreign policy when we are $15 Trillion in debt. Ron Paul is a realist and knows that we will soon go bankrupt if we don‘t make changes and then won’t be able to protect ourselves from anyone!

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 11:10pmIf nothing matters; then by your logic you could be murdered and it would not matter. Because nothing matters because everything is a big accident. So your life is inconsequential by that reasoning because you are nothing and an accident of nature.
However, through the Christian faith all human is important and murder is not acceptable. War is; killing is is (when necessary for survival), but murder is not. Because of our faith the USA is blessed above all nations in the world. That is why the islamic world wants to destroy the christian world. Religious envy. Posted on December 4, 2011 at 9:52amNewt is not hypocritical about his past so I think he is going to get a pass. If he is not hypocritical, then at least he has forgiven himself or is at peace with his imperfection. He might have learned some of this from Ted Kennedy. He came to the election with an “as is” sign attached to him. I think Herman Cain has found out that people really don’t like the sudden discovery of a flaw in a candidate or even the discovery of the possibility of a flaw. All campaigns invest in the human weakness of investing in the crowds confidence in the final winner. Every time someone announces that a candidate is “done” or “has no chance,” it is an attempt to trim the opposition by making people uncomfortable with the person that they already have a financial or psychological investment. The people with the weakest minds often decide the outcome.
