Rick Perry to Announce GOP Candidacy Saturday

A spokesman for Texas Gov. Rick Perry confirmed Thursday that Perry will indeed be running for president. The formal announcement is allegedly set to take place this Saturday.
Perry will make “a definitive announcement that he is in the 2012 race for the presidency Saturday,” aides reportedly told Fox News.
This statement appears far more significant sounding than past indications from the Perry camp that the governor might be seeking to run for president.
FN adds that one source said “this is it,” and that there would be no exploratory committee, nor further deliberation.
Perry will reportedly spend most of next week on the campaign trail.
With the GOP debate set to take place Thursday night and the pending announcement of Rick Perry’s presidential bid, this could be a bumpy ride.
Are you glad to learn Perry is throwing his hat in the ring and do you think him a formidable candidate? Please weigh in.

They they play it off as nothing but wasn’t he like a right hand man for Gore not to long ago???? You know they ask only certain people to go to their meeting don’t you? You want to wait to see how things are going yeah right watch how much money he gets right away then decide, why he waited and wonder who is behind him!!! Go Bachmann/Boltin!

Posted on August 12, 2011 at 1:31amThe Ron Paul supporters are out in force on the internet desperately trying to make him into something. He is a fool on foreign policy….He wasn’t us to do business with Cuba….for real? FOR REAL? Thinks Iran is misunderstood…for REAL? For REAL? Please America we lose. Not sure if Perry is the guy…really really wish Rubio would run….but could take a Bachmann or Perry and Rubio VP ticket and I think that would win. Need to hear more from Perry.

Posted on August 12, 2011 at 2:28amI like Rubio, but he brushes quite close (too close) with the open borders crowd. I agree with Paul to an extent, but I don’t care to do any business with Iran or Cuba; enough said. Still, I want to get out of all the countries on this planet, in that I do agree with Paul. Perry will only get my vote if he wins the Primaries, but again, he won’t getting anything else from me, not even my blessing. The only reason I vote for Perry is because he would be AbO. That goes for Romney and Pawlenty too. Paul’s problem is he just comes across as being too out of the box so to speak and the people in this country are center right and that includes our moral foundation. The gay marriage question pretty much looses my vote for him. I do lean libertarian, but for certain things, I still hold sacred and one of them is marriage between man and wife (women) not man and Stan. I won’t change my belief in the sactity of marriage. Still like Cain and leaning towards him, but Bachmann, who I believed did quite well tonight considering the attacks, is my second choice. :)

Posted on August 11, 2011 at 11:57pmLook at this mans record. He is a Rino and would be a bad choice for President. I ask you to look at how he is willing to take private property away to build a toll road from Texas to Canada belonging to a private corporation. This man is a snake and a danger to the US. He talks a big talk but it is the Texas Republicans who have done all of the work and as Governor he has just taken credit for it.

Report Post »boxofpens
Posted on August 11, 2011 at 11:39pmBorn, raised, and have never lived anywhere other than Texas. I honestly can’t see any weakness in Perry. As much as I would like a non-politician to be president, I just don’t think one would be able to get anything done. Perry controversies: requiring girls to get a vaccine and the trans-Texas corridor. The vaccine bill had amendments attached to it that were good for Texas, and to get those passed, Perry allowed parents to opt out of the “required” vaccine. The trans-Teas corridor created an uproar with the public, Perry listened and it subsequently died. The 2012 race is going to be about Jobs Jobs Jobs, and Perry is the only candidate that has the record and can stand up to Obama on that significant issue.

boxofpens is a luke warm Perry supporter.
my guess is your both Ron Paul supporters
don’t get me wrong I like a lot of what RP says
if you could mix in some common sense I’m with ya
but some of the stuff he says is goofy an makes him unellectable
even in the primaries. He would make an excellent Sec.of Treasury.
Back to the subject ,Rick Perry is a Bilderbergers and New World Order

If He‘s it I’m Writing in DONALD DUCK.

Posted on August 12, 2011 at 1:34pm@flipper: I am absolutely a Perry supporter. I am not a RP supporter- though I agree with some of what he says, he’s a just a little too looney for me, and I honestly don’t think he would be able to get anything done were he to become POTUS. Perry on the other hand WOULD be able to get things done, probably more so than any other candidate, and he could beat Obama.

Posted on August 11, 2011 at 9:51pmSaid this more then a few times (and others have too) but I will not support a Bilderberg in the Primaries period. If, God forbid, he actually wins the Primary nomination, then, pince my nose with both my hands and use my elbow to click for him since I don’t think I can survive another BO term. Please, oh please, folks, don’t vote another RiNO in. Beck likes Bachmann and I do too; also like Cain, but Cain has been waivering a bit of late and unless he does something fantastic and soon, I’ll support Bachmann despite she being from Minnesota. :)

Posted on August 12, 2011 at 4:24pmFirst state to go under? Under what? Budget? This is a man whose mantra for government is… “don’t spend all the money”, and he’s done a pretty good job of that here in TX. We’re suffering in this recession too, but you know what? I can’t go down a street and not see a “help wanted” sign here. He’s lobbied many companies to move or expand to TX, which is an incredibly business-friendly state. Are there things that I don’t agree with him on? Of course. The Trans-Texas-Corridor comes to mind. But, his stance on States’ rights is spot on – do a little research on him – and not what your cousin’s sister-in-law’s brother that lives in Oregon said on Facebook about him.
